SANS Institute - Operations Essentials Operating System Installation Guidelines The following document guides you step-by-step through the process of creating a dualboot system. Even if you do not use a dual-boot system, make sure you follow the installation guidelines for your particular operating system. If you do not install the proper configuration, some of the exercises performed during your labs might not work.!! WARNING!! These configuration guidelines are meant to be used in a lab environment for learning only. The configuration is not secure and therefore the laptop should not contain any sensitive data or company data. Also, this installation guideline will destroy any information that is currently on your laptop. Windows XP Professional Installation It is important to understand that this guide was specifically designed for a lab environment. There are a lot of operating system vulnerabilities that are intentionally left unpatched in these installation steps. This is intentionally done to give you the best results when completing the labs and tutorials during your course. If you are interested, a great reference for building a Windows XP Professional box that is secure enough for a production environment is Windows XP Security: Step By Step by SANS. To create a properly configured laptop for the Operations Essentials Course, follow the detailed steps in this document from the initial setup screen to the final login. This guide was designed for use on a system that doesn't already have a Windows platform installed on it. If your machine does not have a blank hard drive, some of the screens you see at the beginning of the installation may be different from what you see in this chapter. If different screens appear, it is important that you always choose the option to replace, or overwrite. Do not choose to upgrade. The Windows install should also be placed in the default c:\windows directory. Creating Boot Disks If your system does not support the capability to boot off of a CD-ROM, you can use the Windows XP boot disk to boot. If you do not have a set of the four disks, you need to use a machine that already has Windows XP Professional installed on it. The following steps show you how to create the four boot disks: 1. Label four blank, formatted, 3.5-inch, 1.44-MB floppy disks as: Setup Disk One, Setup Disk Two, Setup Disk Three, and Setup Disk Four. A - 1

2. Insert Setup Disk One into the floppy disk drive of a Windows or DOS system. 3. Insert the Windows XP CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive. 4. Click Start, and then click Run. 5. In the Open box, type D:\bootdisk\makeboot a: (where D: is the drive letter assigned to your CD-ROM drive), and then click OK. 6. Follow the screen prompts. 7. After you have completed the screen prompt requests, insert Setup Disk One into the floppy disk drive of the lab PC and power the PC on. Booting from the CD-ROM If your system supports booting off of the CD-ROM, you do not need to use the disks previously discussed. Instead, follow these steps: Simply start by placing the Windows XP CD-ROM into your CD tray and power on your machine. The first non-blank screen you should see is the one shown in the following illustration. A - 2

If the previous screen does not appear, reboot your machine and open up the BIOS. You need to make the system boot by default from the the CD-ROM first. The following screen is one of several different BIOSes you could have on your system. You need to navigate to a screen that allows you to change the Boot Order. This is where you tell it to boot off of the CD-ROM. This varies of course depending on the BIOS manufacturer, please refer to you documentation if necessary. A - 3

After changing the book sequence, restart your system, it should now boot from the CD- ROM. After a period of time (typically seconds), the following screen appears. Because we are doing an initial install, you only need to press Enter to continue. Hit Enter at the next screen to continue installation. A - 4

The Microsoft Windows XP Licensing Agreement appears next, as shown in the following screen. It is important that you read and understand this agreement before continuing with the installation. Use the Page Down key to scroll through the Licensing Agreement. After you have read and agreed to the contents of the license, press F8 to continue. A - 5

Defining Drive Partitions You now need to define the drive partitions. Defining your drive partitions is used instead of FDISK at the command line. When defining your drive partitions, it is extremely important that you leave enough space for your Linux partition! The screen below is presented awaiting your instructions to create partitions. You need a minimum of 2 GB of space to install the Windows XP Professional operating systems. Highlight the partition labeled Unpartitioned space and press the letter press letter C on your keyboard to create a new partition for your Windows XP install. NOTE: If in the step above there are partitions that already exist on your hard disk, they should be removed. However you should realize that this will permanently remove any data that is currently within these partitions and the data will not be recoverable once you install Windows XP on the system. A - 6

The following screen is presented: Now specify what desired size for the new partition that you are about to create. The new partition should be at least contain 2 GB of space. In the provided space type 3096 and press Enter key to continue. The screen below is presented; you should now see your new partition listed along with the remaining unpartitioned space. Verify that the new 2047 MB partition is highlighted and press Enter. A - 7

Formatting Drive Partitions The next step is to format your newly created partition. For security reasons, you should format your partitions using NTFS. NTFS is a Windows partition type that allows you to assign permissions at the folder and file level. This level of granularity is not the same for FAT partitions; any FAT partition can be accessed simply by using a DOS boot floppy. NTFS also allows for larger partition sizes compared to the 2 GB limit that comes with FAT16. The steps for formatting your partition follow: Highlight Format the partition using the NTFS file system option as shown in the following screen, and press Enter. A - 8

The system formats the partition, as shown in the following screens. Depending on the size of the partition, this step can take from 5 minutes to an hour. This is a great time to refill your caffeine-laced beverage of choice. (You may need it because you have a long way to go.) Once the formatting is completed, the system files will be transferred to the newly formatted partition. Once all of the files have been transferred, the machine will be rebooted and you will get the install screen shown on the next page after the reboot. A - 9

The following screens will be shown after the machine is rebooted. These screens will take you to the Windows Installation screen where you must answer the remaining install questions. Continue to next page for the next step in the installation. A - 10

Customizing Your System Now Windows presents a series of questions, which, when answered, customize your system. The following steps walk you through the process of customizing your system: Typically, you only need to make changes during the next step (see the following screen) if you are located outside of the United States or if you use a non-standard keyboard. If you are in the United States and you are using a standard QWERTY keyboard, press the Next button. If you are located outside of the United States, you should change your locale settings. A - 11

A - 12

A - 13

Enter your name and the organization you work for in the Name and Organization fields. For the purposes of this course, have some fun making up fictional names, after all this is not a production box, creativity is allowed. Click the Next button when you are done. A - 14

In the next screen, enter the Product Key number that came with your software. You will find it at the back of the disk jacket that contained your media when you bought Windows XP or on older version of Windows XP you will find it directly on the CD- ROM itself. If you make a mistake when you enter the key, you receive an Invalid Key message and the system gives you another opportunity to enter it. Once you enter in your own valid key, click on the Next button to continue. A - 15

Now enter a name in the Computer name field to name your computer. If you are part of a corporation s domain, you need to follow your corporation s guidelines for naming your systems. For the purposes of this course, name your machine whatever you desire. Then, type in a password in the Administrator password field. You also need to confirm the password by typing it a second time in the Confirm Password field, as shown in the screen capture below. Once all of fields are filled, click the Next button.!! WARNING!! A common mistake many administrators make at this stage is to leave the Administrator password field blank. It is highly advisable that you enter a password that matches your company s password policy for local passwords. You don't want to forget to change the password after you have completed the installation. Also, make sure you remember this password. You will need it to login during your course. If you are installing this computer on behalf of a student that will take a SANS course in the future, do make sure that you tell them what the administrator password is or else they will not be able to perform all of the labs. A - 16

Note: At this point, depending on your configuration, you might receive the Modem Dialing Information Screen. Just cancel out of this or click Next to get to the next screen. In the screen that appears, enter the current time, and then fill in the Date field and Time Zone field. Click Next to continue the installation. A - 17

After you make the changes in the previous configuration step and you click on the Next button, the system installs your networking components, as shown in the following screen. A - 18

Customizing Network Settings Now you need to set up your system so that it can be networked with other systems. Following are the steps: First, you must choose the type of settings you are going to use. Note that it is rarely a good idea to use Typical settings when configuring an application or operating system. It is always a good idea to choose Custom settings, as shown in the following screen. When you use this option, you only install options you need. You won't end up installing something you aren't aware of because you chose an option that automatically does what it thinks is right for you. After you select the Custom settings option, click on the Next button to continue. A - 19

Windows no longer tries to install IPX/SPX, so there is nothing in the custom settings that you need to remove. This is a great time to setup your local IP address if you are not using a DHCP server in your environment. The assumption here is that you are not going to plug this test machine into a production environment, so it's safe to add your own IP address. Highlight Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and click the Properties tab. A - 20

The following screen appears which allows you to enter your own IP address. For the purposes of this exercise, use a non-routable IP address. Select Use the following IP address radio button at the top of the window. Enter in the IP Address field. Enter a standard 24-bit subnet mask of into the subnet mask field. Enter a default gateway setting of Enter the appropriate DNS server IP addresses if you are going to use this machine into your environment to connect to the Internet or other networks. For the purposes of this class you can leave the DNS sever fields blank for this system. Click the OK and then click the Next button to continue. A - 21

As previously stated, you are not joining a network or a domain, so just enter a name of your choice and leave the No option selected (see the illustration that follows). After you have selected the NO radio button and entered the information, click the Next button to continue. A - 22

Windows completes the networking portion of the installation and moves on to its final tasks. This step takes a long time, so take the opportunity to grab a caffeine-laced beverage (again). A - 23

If you get the following screen, shout for joy. Congratulations, you have successfully installed Windows XP. Click Finish, and then remove the Windows CD-ROM before the system reboots so that you don t accidentally start the install process again. If you accidentally leave the CD-ROM in, and the install process starts again, simply remove the CD-ROM and hard-boot the machine (restart it). A - 24

When you get the screen below, click on the OK button to continue. A - 25

When you are informed that windows has adjusted your screen resolution you can either wait until the timer expire or you simply click on the OK button to continue. A - 26

As shown in the next screen, you now need to log in using the Administrator account and the password you entered earlier during the install, once the password is entered click on the green arrow pointing to the right. After you have entered the appropriate credentials, click OK. NOTE: Depending on your version of the software you might get several screens about connecting to the Internet and registering Microsoft before you get the login screen. NOTE: At this stage, the base installation of Windows XP is installed. The instructions that follow on the pages below show you how to upgrade to Service Pack 2 (SP2), which is highly recommended for this class. A - 27

Installing Service Pack 2 If you do not have SP2on a CD, you need to get your Internet access setup and working, so that you can patch this box to SP2. SP2 provides several functional patches, which is why you want to upgrade to it. The first thing you need to do is verify that your NIC (Network Interface Card) is working and that you have connectivity. Ensure that your system has the NIC plugged into a switch or hub that is connected to the Internet. If you have a DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) server on your network, you should be able to automatically pull an IP address. Otherwise, you need to statically assign the appropriate IP address for your system. NOTE: You will need to change the address scheme you entered earlier if you need to connect to the Internet to download SP2. Following are the steps for upgrading to SP2: Left click on the Start button located in the lower left portion of your screen. Then highlight and left click Control Panel. A - 28

The following screen should appear. Click on Network and Internet Connections under the categories presented. A - 29

The following screen should appear. Left click on Network Connections at the bottom right of the window. A - 30

The following screen should appear. If you do not see a Local Area Connection, you do not have a NIC (Network Interface Card) installed or it is NOT properly working. If this is the case you will need to check with your NIC vendor s documentation on getting your particular card installed in Windows XP. Most modern NICs are fully compatible with Windows XP. A - 31

Right click on Local Area Connection and then left click on Properties in the menu that appears. This screen shows you the different configuration items that this particular interface uses. Under the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) properties you must enter the proper values to connect to the Internet. If you do not have the proper values, you will not be able to connect to the Internet. Talk to your administrator to get some help on what values to use. Once all changes are done, click on OK button to close the window and continue. A - 32

After the Hardware Manager is properly setup, you need to validate that the IP address we initially configured is on your system. Click on Start, Run, and then type cmd. A DOS window will open, type ipconfig within the DOS window, this will show you what the IP address configured on the system is. If you wish to see what are the DNS server you have to use: ipconfig /all instead, you will see you DNS servers listed at the bottom of the list. If you see an IP address next to the NIC, you can proceed. If you do not see an IP address or you see the address with x, you didn't pull an IP address from your DHCP server or the IP configuration step we preformed earlier was not successful. You will need to manually add an IP address by repeating the steps described during the installation of Windows XP. If you need to repeat these steps to add an appropriate IP address for your network, do so now. A - 33

Next, you need to verify connectivity to the Internet. The first step consists of making sure that your IP stack is working properly on our computer. To make sure your local IP stack is functioning correctly, you can PING the loopback adapter. To do this, open another command window by selecting Start, Run, and then type cmd. Then, type ping , as shown in the following screen. If you see lines with timing at the end it is a good sign. If you see a message that says Request time out it means that your IP stack is not working properly. You must solve this problem first and then you can continue with testing your internet connectivity. A - 34

As you can see above, there was connectivity to the local IP stack. This shows that the TCP/IP stack is functioning correctly. To verify Internet connectivity and that the DNS settings are working correctly, ping a web site. The IP address used in the following screen is not valid. You need to ping a valid IP address. For example, ping should work. NOTE: If you are not on a network that is connected to the Internet this step will not work. Also, if you are properly connected to an Internet accessible network and you used the IP address we supplied, and it does not match the network information of your own network, this step will not work. If the later is the case, please change your IP address to match the information that is appropriate for your environment. If you get an Unable to resolve name message, you need to validate that you have entered your DNS servers into the TCP/IP properties of your NIC correctly. A - 35

To get your browser functioning, click on the Start button, choose Internet Explorer in the list of program listed at the top of the left column. Follow the wizard's instructions if it is presented. On newer version of Windows XP the wizard might not be presented at all and you will be directly connected to the MSN site within your browser. If the wizard does come up, simply follow the steps below: In the first window presented click on Cancel since we will not be using a modem. A - 36

In the next window choose the appropriate option for your home environment. If you are part of a LAN (Local Area Network), choose the first option (Connect to the Internet). Then, click on the Next button to continue. A - 37

In the next screen, choose Set up my connection manually. Click Next. A - 38

Do not change any options for the next screen. Leave it alone, and simply click on the Next button to continue. A - 39

You have now setup Internet Explorer for web surfing, so click Finish. A - 40

Now that you have established Internet access for your Windows XP system, it is necessary to update your system to a current patch level, including Windows XP service pack 2. Click on the Start button, then All Programs Windows Update. Internet Explorer will open to the Windows Update page, and present a screen similar to the one presented below. Click the Express Install (Recommended) link, and follow the prompts that follow to update your system. Note that it may be necessary to reboot your system multiple times after applying updates. Repeat this step as many times as is necessary until there are no more critical updates to apply on your system. Congratulations, the installation of Windows XP is complete. Next, let's move on with the installation of Fedora Linux 3. A - 41

Linux Installation Now you are going to install Fedora Core 3. The installation is performed from CD-ROM medium. You must download and burn the four CD-ROM's required for the Fedora Core 3 installation (filenames FC3-i386- disc1.iso, FC3-i386-disc2.iso, FC3-i386-disc3.iso, FC3-i386-disc4.iso). A good site to download the.iso image is LinuxISO.org at It is important to produce the Fedora CD's based on the contents of the ISO image, not simply burning the ISO file to the CD. ISO images are not written to CD's the same way as files, they need to be created using the "Create CD from image" option with your CDwriter software. Refer to the documentation of your CD-writer software for instructions when creating the Fedora CD's. INSTALLATION 1. The first step is to insert the Fedora Core 3 Disc 1 into your CD-ROM drive. Next, power on the system; the system boots off of the CD-ROM and begins the Fedora installation program. Follow these steps below to complete the installation of Fedora Core 3 Linux. 2. When the Fedora Installation screen appears (the first screen) type linux text at the boot: prompt and press Enter, as shown in the following screen. A - 42

3. The CD Found window is presented on the screen. It asks whether or not you wish to test and validate your installation media. Testing your media takes quite a while. At this point we will NOT test the media; you can do this at a later time if you see that you are experiencing read errors or other problems during the installation steps. Press the Tab key on your keyboard until the Skip button is highlighted as demonstrated below, and then press the Enter key to continue. A - 43

4. The Fedora Core welcome screen appears. Simply press the Enter key to continue. A - 44

5. At this point the installation program will attempt to detect what type of hardware is being used and you will notice messages being displayed at the bottom of the screen while the detection is taking place. Once the detection is complete, the Language Selection screen appears. Select the appropriate language for your system. Next, press the Tab key until the OK button is highlighted and press Enter. A - 45

6. The Keyboard Selection screen appears. Select the appropriate keyboard for your system. Next, press the Tab key until the OK button is highlighted and press Enter. A - 46

7. The Installation Type screen appears. This window allows the selection of what type of system you would like to install. There are profile that are predefined for specific role but in this case you will perform a custom install instead of one of the define role. Use the up and down arrow keys to highlight Custom. Press the Tab key until the OK button is highlighted and press Enter. A - 47

8. The Disk Partitioning Setup screen appears. There are two choices available. The first choice is Autopartition which will attempt to create all of the partitions on your behalf and then let you review them before committing the changes. The second choice is the Disk Druid that allows you to specifically define what type and size of partitions you would like to use on the system. We will use the Disk Druid for our setup. Press the Tab key until Disk Druid is highlighted, and press Enter. IMPORTANT NOTE: The values used to partition the hard drive will most likely need to be altered and adjusted based on total amount of memory and hard drive size of the system that you are using. The values presented here are strictly minimal values and large partition will allow you to install other tools and have more flexibility. If you do have more space available, you can change the defaults for larger disk partitions. A - 48

9. A Warning screen as shown below might be presented if your drive never has been initialized or never had any partition created on it. In most cases you might not get this screen and simply proceed to step 9 below. If you are installing Fedora on a new drive or a new virtual machine such as VMWare, keep the default choice of Yes and press the Enter key to continue. A - 49

10. The Partitioning screen appears. From this screen you can create new partitions, edit existing partitions, delete partitions, and define software based RAID arrays. We will define the partitions that we will use for the Linux OS through this interface. For most laptop installations, you will have a disk partition named "/dev/hda" representing an IDE drive. SCSI systems will have a disk partition named "/dev/sda". While the examples here indicate the presence of a SCSI drive, the installation steps are the same for IDE or SCSI systems. Your system will have a single disk partition named /dev/hda1 (or /dev/sda1), representing your Windows XP installation, as shown in the example below. We will add two additional partitions to your configuration for a Linux partition and a Linux swap memory partition. Press the Tab key until New is highlighted, and the press Enter. A - 50

11. The Add Partition screen appears. For this installation procedure we will keep things simply by only creating two Linux partition - one for the entire Linux filesystem and another one for memory swap space. When you install Linux as a production server you may opt to create separate partitions for your /var, /home and /opt directories. For now let s create a single partition for the Linux OS. This partition will be mounted on the / mount point, it will be an ext3 file system type (which is the default), it will have a total size of 5800 Megs. By default your cursor is located in the Mount Point: field, type / within this field. Press the Tab key a few times until the cursor is in the Size (MB): field. Enter 5800 in that field. Press the Tab key until OK button is highlighted, and press Enter. A - 51

12. The Partitioning screen reappears. Note the new ext3 partition that you have just created is now listed. You also note there is still 345 megs of space which will be used to create our swap partition. Use the arrows and the Tab key as necessary to highlight the line marked Free Space Once the line Free space is highlighted, press the Tab key until the New button is highlighted, and press Enter. A - 52

13. The Add Partition screen appears. Press the Tab key once to select the File System type: field, do not type anything in the Mount Point: field. Using the arrow down or up keys on your keyboard to highlight swap as the file system type. Press the Tab key until the Size (MB): field is selected. Enter 345. Press the Tab key until the OK button is highlighted, and press Enter. These fields and selections are shown in the screen capture below. A - 53

14. The Partitioning screen reappears. Ensure that the values for disk sizes have been correctly entered; you should have an ext3 partition with a mount point of / and also a swap partition with around 345 Megs of space. In real life you would most likely assign a different size to your swap partition. You would assign at least twice as much space as you have memory in your computer. For example, if you have 512 Megs of memory in your computer, you would assign 1024 Megs of swap space. Press the Tab key until the OK button is highlighted. Press Enter. A - 54

15. The Boot Loader Configuration screen appears. Press the Tab key until the OK button is highlighted, and press Enter. A - 55

16. The Boot Loader Configuration screen appears. Usually you will not need to add anything to this screen. It is safe to leave it as is for now and continue with the installation. Press the Tab key until OK button is highlighted, and press Enter. A - 56

17. The Boot Loader Configuration screen appears. This is where you can prevent malicious users from interacting with your system and attempt to get further access to your computer. With a default install of Fedora Core 3, it is possible to pass options to the boot loader to force the system to boot into run level 1, providing root access to the system. This means that it would be trivial for a malicious user with physical access to get root access on a default install. You will see later on this week how you can secure your computer against such behavior. For now we will keep things simple and we will not use a boot loader password. Press the Tab key until OK button is highlighted, and press Enter. A - 57

18. The Boot Loader Configuration screen appears. Use the Tab and arrow keys to highlight the line with the boot label DOS and then press the Tab key until the Edit button is highlighted, and press Enter. A - 58

19. The Edit Boot Label screen appears. Change the Boot Label field entry to Windows XP Press the Tab key until the OK button is highlighted and press Enter. A - 59

20. The Boot Loader Configuration screen appears. Press the Tab key until the OK button is highlighted and press Enter. A - 60

21. The Boot Loader Configuration screen appears. Press the Tab key until the OK button is highlighted and press Enter. A - 61

22. The Network Configuration for eth0 screen appears. By default Fedora has opted to have an IP address assigned by a DHCP server at boot time. This will be an appropriate configuration for most corporate networks. Press the Tab key until the OK button is highlighted and press Enter. A - 62

23. The Hostname Configuration screen appears. The hostname configuration screen defaults to obtain a hostname from the DHCP server. We can also manually specify the DHCP hostname on this screen. Press the Tab key to select the manually option, pressing the spacebar to select this open. Press Tab again and specify a hostname for your system. Press the Tab key until the OK button is highlighted, and press Enter. A - 63

24. The Firewall Configuration screen appears. Fedora provides a default firewall configuration that is appropriate for most workstations. If you are planning to use this Fedora installation as a server, you will likely need to change the firewall configuration to permit access to the services provided by this host. You can make changes to the firewall configuration by running the Fedora setup command after logging in as the root user. For the purposes of this exercise, we will disable the firewall services that are provided with Fedora Linux. Press the Tab key to select the No firewall option, pressing the spacebar to select this open. Press the Tab key until the OK button is highlighted, and press Enter. A - 64

25. The 'Security Enhanced Linux' screen appears. Security Enhanced Linux (SEL) is a project sponsored by the US National Security Agency (NSA) to permit finer controls over local users and the use of local system resources. The use SEL is a vast topic that will not be covered in this course. More information on using SEL is available at We can leave this option enabled for the purposes of this lab. Press the Tab key until the OK button is highlighted, and press Enter. A - 65

26. The Language Support screen appears. Select the desired language support for your system by using the up and down arrows to select the language, pressing the spacebar to select the language. Note that the English language is selected by default. Press the Tab key until the OK button is highlighted, and press Enter. A - 66

27. The Time Zone Selection screen appears. Use the arrow up and down keys to select the appropriate time zone. Once the time zone is selected, press the Tab key until the OK button is highlighted, and press Enter. A - 67

28. The Root Password screen appears. In the Password: field, type a strong password to use for the root account. Confirm the password by typing it in the Password (confirm): field. Press Tab until the OK button is highlighted and press Enter.!! NOTE!! Do ensure that you remember the password that you have selected; you will need to access Linux as the root user during some of the exercises in class. If you are configuring this installation for one of your employees who will be attending SANS training, do ensure that the password is given to them prior to them coming to the training class. A - 68

29. The Package Group Selection screen appears. Use the down arrow to scroll to the "Development Tools" package. Press the spacebar to select this package. The cursor will automatically move to the next package titled "X Software Development"; press the spacebar to select this package as well. The cursor will move to the next package titled "GNOME Software Development"; press the spacebar to select this package as well. Accept all the default packages and the Tab key until the OK button is highlighted, then press Enter. A - 69

30. The Installation to begin screen appears. It indicates that a complete log of the installation will be created in the /root/ directory under a file called install.log You might want to save this file later on if you wish to have a record of your installation. Press Enter to continue the installation. A - 70

31. The 'Required Install Media' screen appears. Fedora will identify the CD's that are needed to complete the installation. In this case, CD's 1-3 will be required. Ensure that these CD's are available. Press the Tab key to highlight the Continue button, and then hit Enter. A - 71

32. The Formatting screen appears. The Formatting / file system message appears. Proceed to the next step. A - 72

33. The Copying File screen appears. The Transferring install image to hard drive message appears. Proceed to the next step. A - 73

34. The 'Processing' screen appears. The Preparing RPM transaction message appears. Proceed to the next step. A - 74

35. The Package Installation screen appears. Fedora starts installing the packages. Proceed to the next step. A - 75

36. The Change CDROM screen appears. When prompted, insert the Fedora Core 3 Disc 2 in your CD-ROM drive and press Enter to continue the installation. A - 76

37. The Change CDROM screen appears again. When prompted, insert Fedora Core 3 Disc 3 and press Enter. A - 77

38. The Post Install screen appears. After all of packages have been installed, Fedora performs the post-install configuration, as shown in the following screen. Proceed to the next step. A - 78
