1 istartsmart 3.5 Upgrade - Installatin Instructins Minimum System Requirements: Hatch All-In-One istartsmart Cmputer Learning Center v1.0 r v1.1 Internet access - either hard-wired r wireless cnnectin is acceptable Internet Explrer 9.0 r greater is required. 3 websites need t be whitelisted n yur netwrk if yu have restricted access: The AIO istartsmart 3.5 Upgrade will autmatically Update Shell Squad Games t Versin 3.5 enabling secure access t prgress mnitring data ver the internet via the Hatch Reprt Management System Add links n the Desktp fr quick access t Hatch s new Learning Management System that prvides prfessinal training t teachers, access t Online Help vides demnstrating hw t use Shell Squad Games and RMS (Reprt Management System), and access t the Hatch Reprt Management System Maintain all current child prgress data and archives n the cmputer s they are accessible using the earlier versin f Shell Squad Games 1.0. Please Nte: The upgrade prcess des nt transfer child prgress data r archives int the RMS central database r int Shell Squad Games 3.5. Yu will have t re-create yur class and add yur children wh will start frm tutrial levels if yu d nt already have class and child data saved in RMS. If yu have Mbile tablets that children have used, their data was cllected in RMS and will synchrnize with the upgraded cmputer nce yu setup yur class n the upgraded cmputer. Any 3rd party sftware that was laded and cnfigured int a launch pad in ECLaunch will remain laded and cnfigured. Sftware Installatin Yu will need 2 pieces f infrmatin frm an sent frm Hatch: the dwnlad link and the License Cde. If yu rdered the upgrade and have nt received an , please cntact Hatch at Exit Shell Squad Games and ECLaunch (Alt-F4) Cpy the dwnlad link int the internet brwser n the istartsmart cmputer that yu will be upgrading. Hit enter key. Yu will be asked t save r run the executable (this varies based n the brwser and versin) Latest versins f Windws Internet Explrer display a bx at the bttm f the page 301 N. 4 Click the Run Anyway line shwn in yellw belw An InstallAnywhere bx will appear An Installatin Wizard will prvide instructins fr installing the AIO 3.5 Upgrade. Please fllw the instructins and enter the requested infrmatin when prmpted: 301 N. Main St., Suite 101 > Winstn-Salem, NC 27101

5 Press the Next buttn t cntinue with the installatin. Yu can cancel the installatin at any time by pressing the Cancel buttn. The next screen will prvide yu with imprtant infrmatin abut the upgrade and yur current data befre the upgrade starts. 301 N. Main St., Suite 101 > Winstn-Salem, NC 27101

7 On the next screen, enter the License Cde that was included in the sent t yu frm Hatch. The License cde has 17 Characters. Please enter exactly as shwn in yur . Press the Install buttn t cntinue with the installatin f the sftware. Press the Cancel buttn t stp the upgrade f yur system t Shell Squad Games 3.5. 8 When the upgrade installer is cmplete yu will see the screen belw. Please press Dne buttn t cmplete the installatin. The system will autmatically restart ECLaunch. Skip t the Start Shell Squad Games after ECLaunch Restarts sectin belw. 301 N. Main St., Suite 101 > Winstn-Salem, NC 27101

9 If yu did nt receive the Cngratulatins Install Cmplete screen abve, then the upgrade installer is cnfiguring yur system and determining whether yur Internet Brwser is at the minimal cmpatible versin. Please g t Internet Explrer Update Sectin in the Appendix fr instructins abut hw t install the update. Start Shell Squad Games after ECLaunch Restarts Start Shell Squad Games by tuching the icn n the ECLaunch screen Nte: this final dwnlad and install f images and audi files culd take between 5 minutes t 2 hurs t cmplete depending n the bandwidth f yur internet cnnectin. A Hatch lg will appear fllwed by the Hatch animated characters intrducing istartsmart Shell Squad Games The Installing Updates t Shell Squad Games screen displays a thermmeter indicating prgress f the install and dwnlad f required data. 10 Read and Accept the End User Agreement that appears after the installatin is cmplete Tuch r click in the text bx next t User Name: and type in yur name Tuch r click the vertical bx t scrll the text s yu can read the agreement Select Accept t agree t the terms f the license and use the sftware Selecting Decline exits Shell Squad Games. Upn re-entering Shell Squad Games, this License Agreement screen will display again. Cngratulatins! - Yu have successfully cmpleted installing the Upgrade t Nw let s set up the classes n yur system Please press r click n the Setup Wizard buttn n the menu: 301 N. 11 The fllwing screen will appear: If yu already have a lgin t RMS because yu have ther devices in yur class, yu can lgin and assign ne f yur existing classes frm ther devices t this AIO. Type in yur address and passwrd fr yur RMS accunt Tuch the Lgin Buttn If yu are a new user and d nt have an RMS user id, press the I am a New User Buttn. 12 Type in yur address Enter in a passwrd fr yur RMS accunt that yu will als use t see yur class reprts Re-enter the same passwrd again t cnfirm it Select yu schl frm the drpdwn list Type in yur name Select either ne f the icns that are prvided in the drp dwn list r chse a picture that yu have n yur cmputer that will be used t represent yur class n the lgin screens fr yur children t identify yur class Tuch the Submit buttn when yu are finished entering infrmatin After yu have pressed Submit in either f the tw cases, the fllwing screen will display. Select ne r several f yur classes that are displayed by clicking in the bx t the left f the class name. A mark will appear in the bx t indicate it is selected. If n classes are displayed, add a class by pressing r clicking in the bx under Create a New Class and type in the name f the class and press the Create buttn. 13 Yu can change the name f the class by pressing r clicking the edit icn t the right f the class name Press the Submit Buttn when yu are finished selecting, adding r editing the class names. If yu selected an existing class with children in it This will autmatically dwnlad data frm RMS fr yur existing class including the children in the class t yur AIO autmatically. Cngratulatins! Yu are ready t have children play with Shell Squad Games! The Class Lgin screen will display the picture(s) f the teacher(s). Children can nw play with the updated Shell Squad Games and yu can use the new Teacher features. Yu can verify that yur sftware is at the new versin by lking in the upper right crner f the screen. Yu shuld see <yur cmputer name> : If yur class is new and there are n children, the system indicates that yu shuld add children: 301 N. Main St., Suite 101 > Winstn-Salem, NC 27101

14 Press the Add Child r Pht buttn and the fllwing screen will appear: This cnfirms that yu are the teacher f the class registered n the device. If the name is nt crrect, press the New User buttn and yu can add yurself as a user as utlined n previus pages. Enter yur address and press Cntinue buttn Yu will see this menu 301 N. 15 Select Add Child buttn Simply enter the child infrmatin, take their picture by tuching the Capture Image buttns, and then tuch the Save Child buttn. Nte that the Child Id is ptinal. Repeat selecting the Add Child buttn until yu have added all the children in yur class. Clse the Teacher menu by pressing the red X in the upper right crner f the menu. This will take yu t the class lgin screen. Cngratulatins! Yu are ready t have children play with Shell Squad Games ! Where can yu get additinal help? When yu exit ECLaunch, new desktp icns in additin t the familiar ECLaunch icn prvide cnvenient links t additinal help and t the Prgress Reprts where yu can see hw the children in yur class are prgressing thrugh the skill levels. 18 Press the Install Buttn This will start a dwnlad f the apprpriate update install files and prvide infrmatin abut the update as shwn belw. Please just wait. This screen will disappear after a minute r tw s yu d nt have t wrry abut making selectins...the update will autmatically begin with n further actins frm yu. 301 N. 19 Yu may see that it will als perfrm Windw updates t make yur system cmpatible with Internet Explrer 11. When all the updates are cmplete (this culd take 10 minutes r mre depending n yur internet bandwidth) the system will rebt and ECLaunch will restart autmatically.
