Setting Options Remarks Data transfer Enabled / disabled Enables / disables data transfer as a whole. Delta transfer Yes/No Transfer of delta files can be switched on / off here separately. Daily file transfer Yes/No Transfer of daily files can be switched on / off here separately. IP address xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx Static IP address of the LDM Port 8080 Port for http transfer. This value generally should not be changed. Configuring the LDM The language of the LDM and the system structure can be changed via the administration interface. Meteocontrol supplies the system structure on portal integration of the system. 12/27
6. Operation 6.1 Portal communication Technology Data transfer from the LDM to the portal is via a VPN tunnel. This is set up autonomously by the LDM so that the local firewall only needs to permit outgoing connections on port The connection is kept permanently open. If the connection is broken, the LDM autonomously attempts to set up the connection again. If a VPN connection is temporarily or permanently not possible, the LDM delivers the data to the portal via an HTTPS connection. The transfer of configuration data from the portal to the Weblog follows the default procedure for Weblog portal communication. The LDM is not involved Weblog data transfer Live values Every Weblog transmits the current measured values to the LDM every minute. These are stored on the LDM for 14 days but not forwarded directly to the portal. During this time, the values can be viewed as charts or in table form via the local user interface and accessed on the export interface. If there is a VPN connection, the data can be specifically queried and displayed via the VCOM. Delta files The Weblog delta files are transmitted to the LDM at an interval set on the Weblog. The data is transmitted to the portal directly via a secure connection (VPN/HTTPS) and imported. It is not possible to analyse the data as a graph or table in the local user interface. 13/27
Daily files All the data for the previous day is transmitted to the LDM by the Weblog in multiple daily files. These files are transmitted to the portal directly via a secure connection and imported there. In addition, the daily files are saved on the LDM as a backup and can be downloaded via the local user interface or the export interface. The content of the files can be displayed via the local user interface. It is not possible to analyse the data as a graph or table in the local user interface. The daily data is kept for 5 years on the LDM. Once this period has elapsed, the files will be deleted automatically. 6.2 Web interface The web interface can be accessed at: instead of ldm-ip, use the IP address you have assigned. Tip: It is also possible to access the LDM user interface via the Internet by using portal forwarding on the router to the IP or an additional VPN connection via the router. These settings are device-dependent and not part of these instructions. The user name and password are: service / service42 14/27
6.2.1 Desktop Figure 1: Desktop The web interface is structured like a Windows desktop. The individual applications are shown as icons on the desktop background and are also available via the Start menu. Open windows appear as icons in the taskbar so that covered windows can easily be brought back on top Administration Language (Sprache) Available languages: German English 15/27
System structure (Anlagenstruktur) Figure 2: Administration window If the system on which the LDM is operated is configured in the portal, the system structure can be exported from the portal and imported here. Meteocontrol can supply the structure on request. If no structure is imported, the LDM establishes the structure from the data transferred. 16/27
6.2.3 System status Figure 3: System status (Systemstatus) window, System status (Systemstatus) tab The system status (Systemstatus) window shows the current portal transfer mode (Übertragungsmodus) of the LDM and how long this mode has been enabled. Possible modes are: VPN HTTPS NONE The import status indicates how many data records or file the LDM has already processed today. 17/27
Figure 4: System status window, Weblogs tab The Weblog tab shows for each Weblog whether it is currently delivering recent data. If a Weblog fails to report for a long time, it is highlighted in red. 18/27
6.2.4 Current data Figure 5: Current data (Aktuelle Daten) window The current data (Aktuelle Daten) window displays the last available system data. The data for one type (Wechselrichter, GAK, ichecker, Sensoren inverter, SCB, i'checker, sensors) are always displayed in a single tab. The data is grouped by Weblogs. 19/27
6.2.5 Daily data Figure 6: Tagesdaten (Daily data) window The Tagesdaten (daily data) view shows the saved daily files that the LDM has transmitted to the portal. The individual files can be viewed as text files or downloaded. The navigation allows you to restrict the timescale and browse the files. 20/27
6.2.6 Data history Figure 7: Datenhistorie (Data history) window All measured values for a component in the system can be viewed in tabular form for the period of the last 14 days in the data history window. The component is selected via the tree view which corresponds to the system structure. A separate tab for each component is opened in the window so that you can switch back and forth between the components. The navigation allows you to browse the data. The date selector can be used to select a specific period within the last 14 days. 21/27
6.2.7 Chart generator Figure 8: Chart generator window The chart generator is used to display the live values as charts. The measured values and components can be combined in any way. Selection is by component. There is a tab for each component type. The upper area of each tab contains the set union of all measured data identifiers (abbreviation). The lower area contains the selected components. A curve is drawn for each selected component and abbreviation in the chart that is generated. This applies to every tab so that, for example, the AC output of an inverter can be compared with the irradiance. Each configured chart can be opened in current chart and history chart versions. The number of chart windows is limited only by the performance of the client system. 22/27
6.2.8 Current chart Figure 9: Current chart window This chart shows the data for the selected components over the last 15 minutes. The data is automatically refreshed every 15 minutes. A refresh can also be triggered manually. 23/27
6.2.9 History chart Figure 10: History chart window The history chart shows the data for the selected components over a whole day. The current day is displayed by default. The navigation can be used to view days in the past (max. 14 days). The chart can be infinitely zoomed. 6.3 Export interface The LDM provides an http interface for data export. The daily data files for the Weblogs and the live values can be exported. This allows automated connection of the LDM to external systems Export of live values The live values are exported via the following URL: Unless otherwise defined in the parameters, the values for the current minute are queried. The query can optionally be extended by one start time and/or one end time. 24/27
Parameters sfromdate stodate Format YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM:SS YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM:SS The request delivers the live values in XML format in the body of the response. Figure 11: Example of live values export 25/27
6.3.2 Daily data files The daily data files can be retrieved via the following URL: The period is controlled via the following GET parameters: Parameters sfromts stots Format YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM:SS YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM:SS The LDM then generates an HTML file with a list of links to the data files. These can be downloaded e.g. with "wget". wget --no-check-certificate -r " 00:00:00&sToTs= :59:59" It is advisable to load the files via a scripting language such as Perl or PHP. 6.4 VCOM The LDM live values are not imported by the portal. However the VCOM allows the values to be displayed if there is an existing VPN connection Live values for the current quarter hour Like the user interface, this chart displays the current live values for the last quarter hour. The values are refreshed continuously. If the data volume is limited, this can lead to increased costs if the charts are retrieving data continuously over a long period. 26/27
6.4.2 Live values daily chart Figure 12: VCOM live values daily chart The daily chart corresponds to the history chart in the LDM user interface. The daily chart can be found at Evaluation -> Inverter -> Live values. 7. Troubleshooting Fault No display Power LED does not light up Internet connection via cable does not work VPN connection not possible Solution Check power supply, switch on LDM using the Power On switch. The Internet connection must be via a router. Direct connection to a cable modem is not possible The router must be open for outgoing connections on port If the fault cannot be rectified, contact meteocontrol support. 27/27
