10 Summary 1 1 Summary 1.1 Introduction Enterprise Suite is a generic name for applications required to perform account management and rights management of devices (MFPs and printers) used in offices, ubiquitous printing, and panel settings or management for each user. It allows you to use various functions in conjunction with the device by adding add-on (function expansion) applications to Device Manager that provides the basic functions About Device Manager Device Manager is utility software designed to centrally manage the configuration and status check of devices on the network as well as user information. It works in conjunction with MFPs and printers that are connected to the network to offer a variety of solutions, including reduced device management costs, efficient use of the device, and enhanced security. Operation status of multiple devices such as MFPs and printers can be checked in real time via a Web browser, allowing for multi-setting of various items, and the automatic notification of MFP status information and counter data. Basic functions Device Manager provides the following basic functions. - Device List Manages device information. - User List Manages user information. - Counter Reader Checks the device usage status. - Server Settings Specifies various settings of Enterprise Suite. - Admin Console Specifies the settings for connecting to the database for Enterprise Suite, backs up and restores the database, and changes the password of the system administrator. Enterprise Suite 1-1

11 Summary Add-on (extension) applications Add-on (extension) applications make more advanced functions available in addition to the basic functionality of Device Manager. - Authentication Manager Authentication Manager is utility software designed to centrally manage devices, such as MFPs on the network. When used in a Web browser, Authentication Manager can manage accounts, users and external servers used by the network devices, total copies and prints, and apply specified function limitations. - Account Manager Account Manager is utility software designed to centrally manage devices, such as MFPs on the network. By using Account Manager in a Web browser, the usage and costs for each account or each user of network devices can be totaled and analyzed. - My Panel Manager My Panel Manager is network-based software designed to manage personal address books and panels used on MFPs and other devices. By using My Panel Manager, the address information and panel settings of each user can be managed easily in a Web browser. - My Print Manager My Print Manager is an application used to spool print job in a folder on the network for each user. Using My Print Manager, the spooled print job can be printed from any device. Note The add-on applications do not function by themselves. Enterprise Suite 1-

12 Summary 1 To use add-on applications, the following prerequisites must be satisfied. - Device Manager is running. - Add-on applications have been installed. - Module licenses and the required number of device licenses have been obtained and registered. (For paid add-ons) - Add-on applications have been enabled in the devices. (For paid addons) Reminder For details on Enterprise Suite licenses, refer to "Licenses" on page Configuration of Enterprise Suite Enterprise Suite consists of the following elements. - Database Centrally manages device and user information. 27 Licenses Licenses To use Enterprise Suite add-on applications, obtain the required licenses, and register them. Licenses are classified into two types: "regular license" required to correctly operate add-on applications and "trial license" that enables the user to try out add-on applications for 60 days before installing them..1 License types Enterprise Suite has the following types of licenses. Function Module license Device license Maintenance license Details Enables all functions of the target application. Increases the number of devices that can be managed by the target application. Extends the maintenance period (period that can be updated) of the target application. Reminder This license is not available in the trial license. Trial license If you are currently reviewing the installation of an add-on application, you can register a trial license to use a trial version of add-on application before purchasing it. A trial license, which enables you to try out an add-on application for 60 days, is issued to one Enterprise Suite server only once. The trial period starts when a trial license is registered in the license authentication server on Internet. For details on registering the trial license, refer to "Device Manager User's Guide". Reminder Registering the trial license enables the use of the Module and device licenses. Enterprise Suite -1

28 Licenses. License registration and available functions To make full use of Enterprise Suite functions, register all Module, device, and maintenance licenses. The following shows the relationships between the license registration status and available functions. Reminder Device Manager can use all functions regardless of whether licenses are registered.
