7 KNOWN ISSUES IN THIS RELEASE Out of memory (java heap space) error may be thrown when a Spark job is run. To address this issue, consider increasing the heap size of the Spark service after installing Monarch Swarm Calculated fields imported from Monarch Complete to Monarch Swarm will fail in the latter if the specified formula does not specify values for optional parameters but includes a comma after required parameters (e.g., "Week(MessageDate,)"). In this case, the user must manually edit the calculated field by removing the extra comma or adding a value for missing parameters. When upgrading an existing Swarm installation to v2.0 and the current deployment is running, the services are not always automatically stopped during the process and an error gets generated. The workaround is to manually stop the Datawatch Monarch services before the installation is initiated. When performing a fresh install of Monarch Swarm v2.0 on a slower system, it might run into a timeout when the ML service is trying to connect to Cassandra before it is actually started and the service must be started manually. As an alternative workaround, the default timeout can be adjusted in the configuration file. It is not possible to take a snapshot backup from the Cassandra database. When the snapshot command is run, it goes into error and no snapshot file gets created. The workaround is to take a backup of the entire server instance. The Jobs list cannot be filtered using any of the following characters *.\?+()[] in the Filter Jobs text-box. Logout works incorrectly in a few specific cases after the login timeout has expired (if the user then selects a Transformation or the User Profile). When concurrent users are working on the same Workspace and saving it with the same name, it can sometimes happen that not the right information message is shown but instead an error prevents the user from saving. While defining a Model and using a Regular Expression Trap, the characters typed gets inserted (or removed) with an unexpected delay. It is possible to revoke permissions for a user on the Folder he is being curator on. The Folder is then now listed in the Edit User form for this user. It is possible to assign permissions to a user that is disabled in the system, including assigning the user as curator for a Folder. A user assigned as curator for a Folder always has access to all objects in that folder, even if the permissions are revoked from an object. It should not be possible to revoke permissions for the curator.

8 When performing a Join the options to select or deselect duplicate columns does not work properly if all columns first were unselected. When scrolling to the end of a table which has the number of rows exactly as a multiple of 100, an error is generated. The option to move columns, by drag and drop in the lists, does not work in Extract Rows and Pivot Transformations. Defining a Pivot Transformation does not work if it the resulting table gets very long column names, e.g. generated by the values in multiple Pivot columns selected. The columns used for grouping in a Group By Transformation cannot contain any special characters, such as /<>?&*:;() The function Substr() in a calculated column gives and error unless it has all three parameters defined, string start and length. In Swarm a calculated column using RegexExtract returns Null if extract part doesn't exist in the original string, instead of blank as in DPS. In Swarm a calculated column using the function RedactStrikeoutDigits() having the second parameter set to an empty string is only redacting number characters, instead of producing a null value as in DPS. When a new empty Workspace is opened and the user clicks to collapse the left panel for Add Data before adding any data a blank screen gets displayed with the text "Processing ", and the user must start over from the Swarm Library. If a table exported from a Swarm Workspace to the Library has numeric columns formatted within the Workspace, these columns are displayed with null values if the Data Source is opened in Data Prep Studio. Formatting of numeric and date/time columns in a Workspace is not retained when the Table is Exported or Published to a Data Source. Web Link Data Source to a downloadable file (e.g. Excel, csv) is not supported. An incorrect path is displayed in the Location field, as undefined or null, for a Data Source based on a Salesforce Connection. The selected table name is not used as the default name for a new Data Source based on a database Connection. When defining a new Connection with the same name as an already existing Connection, the Connection does not get saved and no warning is displayed. When defining a new Data Source and the file uploaded has an undefined type, an error is generated when the user saves even if the user has browsed and changed to a valid file type or changed to a valid format corresponding to the file. When a new file is uploaded while working in a Workspace, a temporary Data Source named as the file gets created in the root of the Library. It will then not be possible to create a Data Source there with that same name, even if the user didn't save the Workspace and

9 the Data Source is not visible in the Library. An error noting that an item with the same name already exists is displayed, e.g. if a user within a Workspace uploads a file having that same name. The temporary file gets automatically removed after some time. The drop data panel is not opened in a Workspace when the Add Data option is selected from the bottom left corner of the left panel, whereas it is correctly opened when the Add Data top menu option is selected. Frequent exports run to Watson Analytics may cause an error "429 Too Many Requests". An incomplete or invalid filter expression is incorrectly kept in the Filter, without any warning to the user, when the Workspace is saved. This causes an error when the Workspace is reopened or run on a schedule. When defining a filter condition using In or Not In operator the cursor is shifting unexpectedly when typing in the value text-box, and the typed value may become incorrect. A folder the user has browsed into in the Server Library is not always retained in the list as expected, e.g. when the list is refreshed or when the user comes back to the list after having created or edited a Workspace. Exports run to Excel or Access tables consumes significant amount of memory on the server if the exported number of row is large (several millions), and the heap size must be configured to an appropriate size for such use cases. A Workspace having a Schedule defined with the start date set later than the end date prompts an "unexpected error" when the user tries to save, but the Workspace is saved. When defining a new user the option to Disable Account is available, and there is an error if the user clicks and selects to disable the new user. The list of Users can become out of order, i.e. not sorted properly, after the Edit User form has been opened multiple times. Incorrect messages get displayed when a login fail and the user may have to refresh the page, in Microsoft Edge. When using the column operation to replace Nulls with specified characters in Internet Explorer 11, the Apply button does not work but just pressing enter works. The list of objects in the Swarm Library loads very slow in Internet Explorer and Microsoft Edge, e.g. when scrolling, if it contains hundreds of objects. The icon to collapse the vertical left panel in a Workspace is very sensitive in Microsoft Edge, and does not respond if the user clicks in the center of the icon.

10 RELEASE NOTES A Connection error message is displayed in Internet Explorer 11 when a Data Source is defined against Watson, Google Analytics or Salesforce and the specific login window is opened. Some file types, such as.log and.xps, are not supported in Monarch Swarm v2.0. Workspaces imported from Data Prep Studio and containing data from CDATA drivers are not supported in the current version of Monarch Swarm. The options for a Google Analytics data source (e.g., Account, Views, Properties) made from one Google Analytics connection do not display when this connection is changed to another Google Analytics connection. When a non-empty workspace is opened and the Extract Rows transformation is launched, the option for moving columns is displayed but does not work. A script error is displayed when the move action is attempted. When a table in a workspace is published and then shared with the setting Share all required input data sources, a share notification for only the table is sent to users with whom the table and data sources are shared. Login with SSO is not supported for installations of Monarch Swarm on Linux. Installations of Monarch Swarm on Linux do not support exports to Tableau Server. With the exception of Cloudera 5.12, creation of custom connections is not supported for installations of Monarch Swarm on Linux. No support for SAS files. While Microsoft Excel files in the workbook format are supported in Monarch Swarm, the application does not support Excel 95.XLS files. To continue using the data in a 95.XLS file in Monarch Swarm, open the file in Excel and then save it to a supported format. Data Prep Studio allows more encoding options than are currently supported in Swarm. By default, Swarm will treat ANSI/ASCII encodings as UTF-8. UTF-16 and UTF-32 are also supported. When tables with over 255 columns or very large numbers of rows are exported from Data Prep Studio to Monarch Swarm, the export result in Data Prep Studio may read as 100% completed but Monarch Swarm yields an empty table except for column headers.
