2 Safety Warning: To avoid injury or damage, please be sure to follow all instructions provided when you operate this printer. Warning Failure to follow the instructions below may result in injury or death. Do not connect multiple devices to a single power outlet or power strip. Doing so may create a fire hazard. Don t use a plug that is dirty or wet. Clean it and dry it first. Don't use a power outlet that does not hold the plug securely. Don t use nonstandard power strips or outlet multiplier modules. Don't continue to use the unit if it emits smoke or odors, or makes unfamiliar sounds. Do this: 1. Remove power to the unit. 2. Wait for any smoke to subside, and contact the retailer for replacement under warranty. Do not grip the cord to unplug the unit. Tugging at the cord may cause internal breakage and result in a fire hazard. Do not handle the plug with wet hands. This can result in electrical shock. The packaged desiccant in the carton is toxic. Do not place within the reach of children. Plastic packaging presents a suffocation hazard to kids. Do not store it within the reach of children. Do not route the power cord through sharp bends or place heavy loads on it. Doing so may be a fire hazard. Do not use power adapters not intended for this product. Doing so can be dangerous. Thermal head Do not allow liquids or foreign objects to enter the unit. Contact the retailer if this happens. Do not place the product on an unstable surface. Damage or injury may result. You must not continue to use the product if it appears to malfunction or operate incorrectly. Turn off power to the device, unplug it, and contact the retailer. Notice To minimize the possibility of static electricity damage, power off the unit prior to making connections. If you suspect damage through exposure to static electricity, do contact the service center. 4 Chapter 1. Printer Setup and Operating Contents in the Package Check below items,please contact the dealer for any breakdown or absent. Appearance, packaging style and other specifics may change without notice. If you have questions, please contact the retailer. Connecting cable The printer comes supplied with a USB cable. If you need to use a parallel port cable, power port cable or cashbox port cable, they can be purchased separately. Parallel Port Cash Box Port Power Port Cables to connect to electronic cash registers, point-of-sale systems and computers are included in the package. They can also be obtained separately. 4

5 Loading or replacing paper rolls Press the release button to open the paper roll cover. Remove used paper roll to replace with a new roll. Press the button 1. Install the paper roll as shown in the image below: 2.Make sure that the paper roll is correctly oriented as you load it in the chamber. Correct Direction Wrong Direction 3.Pull a short length of paper out and guide it to the opening at the front of the printer. Press 4.Tear off excess paper using the auto-cutter or the cutting blade built into the machine. 5

Connect to a computer(pc-pos) Connect one end of the parallel cable to the port on the printer. 1 Connect one end of the parallel cable to the port on the printer. 2 Connect the other end of parallel cable to the printer port on the computer. Connect to the printer Connect to the computer Connect to cashbox/cash drawer Attach the cable from the cashbox to the cashbox port at the rear. Cash Drawer Make sure that you have a cashbox that uses 12-24V/1A power compatible with the printer. Using a cashbox designed for a different power supply standard may result in damage to both the printer and the cashbox. Cashbox cable connection. 6

7 Connect to a power outlet 1. Before you connect the printer to a power outlet, make sure that its power switch is set to the Off position. 2.Connect to power AC adapter Power Cable 2. Connect the adapter to the back of the printer. 3. Flip the on-off switch on the thermal printer to turn it on. 7

8 The control panel The control board Power: Lights up when the unit is connected to a power outlet. The error status light: Lights up in these instances: 1.The printer overheats. 2.The printer runs low on paper. 3. The paper cover isn't correctly placed. The low receipt paper light: Lights up when the paper roll begins to run out, or when the wrong kind of paper is installed. The Feed key: Press the Feed key to run a length of paper out. 8

9 Chapter 2. Printer Management The self- test feature The self-test feature is a convenient function that helps you make sure that the printer functions properly. You should contact the retailer if the printer fails the self-test process. The self-test process: The self-test process: Make sure the printer is powered off. Holding down the Feed button with one hand, turn on the printer's power button with the other. When the printer powers on, it will flash the error and paper lights. Let go of the feed button after one flash. it should print out the self-test list. The self-test process prints out a series of characters and information about the printer's settings and commands. If the model that you are testing is equipped with an auto-cutter, it will deploy at the end of self-test to cut off the self-test printout. Once self-test completes successfully, the printer enters its default state. It is then ready to receive data. Maintaining your printer Fiber and dust buildup on the thermal print head tends to be a regular occurrence. Routine cleaning and care help make sure your thermal printer retains print quality over time. Use the following steps to clean your printer: 1. Open the paper roll cover and remove the paper roll. 2. Pick up a bottle of isopropyl alcohol and a dry swab, or a packaged, premoistened swab. Use one of these items to clean the printer's thermal printer head. 3. Make sure the swab is damp, and gently wipe the roller and the paper check sensor. 4. Allow the printer several minutes to dry. You can then go ahead and load the paper back in the printer, and close the paper roll cover. 9

12 ETHERNET/LAN SETUP Install POSPrintDrive_V8.5.exe The default IP address of the printer is You must first make sure that the IP address of your router also starts with ,if not, you will have to change the printer's IP address. To check your router's IP: In windows 7: go to control panel, network and internet, go to network and sharing center.. in windows 10, go to settings, network and internet. Click change adapter settings. double click on your active Local area Connection. click details. look for "IPv4 Default Gateway if the first 3 sets of numbers are , you will not need to change the printers IP address. Skip to page 13 to continue setup. If the first 3 sets of numbers are NOT , follow these steps to change the printer's IP. 1-first you will need to temporarily change your Compuer's IP to in order to communicate with the printer. to do this: In windows 7: go to control panel, network and internet, go to network and sharing center.. in windows 10, go to settings, network and internet. Click change adapter settings. Right click on your active Local area Connection. Click Properties. Click on Internet protocol Version 4(TCP/IPv4) Click Properties Click on Use the Following IP address type in the IP address: type in the subnet mask: click OK. You will not have internet on your computer temporarily. 2-In the CD that came with the printer, find the tools folder, then open the IP Setter folder. 3- open the ipsetter.exe tool and click search printer. 4-click on the printer that comes up, then click Printer setting. if nothing comes up, turn your printer off and on. make sure the eathernet wire is connected to the router. try restarting ipsetter.exe / your computer. 5-change the ip address, so that the first 3 sets of numbers matches the Default gateway IP. you can leave the fourth set in the password field, type click ok. if you click search printer again, the printer should dissapear, since the IP no longer matches the computer. 8-follow step 1 to change the computer IP back to "obtain an IP address automatically". your internet should now be back. restart the ipsetter tool, to see if the printer shows up. if yes, you have correctly changed your printer's IP. continue to page

13 Making the correct Ethernet settings 1. To connect your printer to a network, first obtain the printer's IP address. Engage the self-test mechanism to get the printer to print out its IP address (turn off the printer, hold down the Feed button and turn on the printer). 2. The following screens help you set your network ports. 1) Make sure the printer driver is correctly installed. Go to Printers and Faxes, right-click on the printer's icon, and select Properties 13

14 2) Scroll down the list of ports displayed, find the correct port, and click on it: 3) Click on Standard TCP/IP Port on the Available Port Types list. Click on the New Port button. 14

15 4) When the Add Standard TCP/IP Printer Port Wizard opens, click on Next to begin installation: 5) Key the IP address from the printout into the Add Standard TCP/IP Printer Port dialogue's Add Port window. Click Next. 15

16 6) When the Additional Port Information Required dialog opens, go to the bottom to look for the Device type section. Click on the Standard radio button, and select Generic Network Card in the drop-down menu. Click on "Next." 7) When the window switches to the "Completing the Add Standard TCP/IP Printer Port Wizard" display, click on "Finish" to complete installation. 16

17 8) Back on the Properties page of the printer, pick the correct IP port check the check box, and click Apply. You can now print a test page. 17

18 USB SETUP Install POSPrintDrive_V8.5.exe After setup: Go to "devices and Printers" in windows control panel Right click on POS80 Click "Printer Properties" Click "Print test page". If not successful: Click on the "Ports" tab Choose another port that starts with USBxxx Click "Apply" Try to print test page. For more help, go to 18

19 TROUBLESHOOTING: ******Do you get an error when installing the driver? This is a common problem in windows 8 and 10, that affects many drivers, with a simple solution: 1- In windows, go to settings 2- in the settings search field, type "advanced startup" 3- click on "change advanced startup options" 4- in the advanced startup section, click restart now 5- click troubleshoot 6-click advanced options 7- click startup settings 8- click restart. 9- When you get to the startup settings page, press the number 7 on the keyboard 10- when windows starts, re-install the driver. 11- you will get a warning about an unsigned driver. click "install anyway" ********To turn off beeping after printing: 1-Go to "Devices and Printers" in windows control panel 2-Right click on POS80 3-Click "Printer Properties" 4-click on device settings tab 5- change beeper setting to "no beeping" *******Using more than one EOM-200 on the same network? You may need to change the MAC address on the other units as well as the IP address, to avoid conflicts. ******For other issues, such as Ethernet connections, Logo upload, etc... go to click on the contact tab. 19
