3 Intrductin Overview The quick installatin guide gives an verview f hw t install FllwMe. It assumes the user is familiar with the purpse f the prduct and has sufficient rights and skills t install it. Detailed infrmatin n hw t install and fully cnfigure FllwMe can be fund in the FllwMe manual. It shuld be nted that lcal administratr rights will be required when installing FllwMe t yur designated server. Page 3 f 26

5 Step 1: Hardware Devices Attach: Pwer cable t pwer supply Pwer supply t device Netwrk cable t device and t netwrk (Nt supplied) Input device (Prximity Card, Swipe Card, Keypad, Fingerprint r Barcde reader) CpyPatrl cable attached t printer r cpier (Only applies t Cpy Patrl devices) If this is the first time the device has been installed it may require additinal cnfiguratin nce the server sftware is installed. Please refer t the full FllwMe install guide fr details NOTE: The mdel number f yur hardware can be lcated n the bttm f the device. 6 Step 2: Dwnlad Sftware Open Internet Explrer and brwse t Chse My Accunt frm the menu alng the tp and lg in with yur and passwrd. If yu have nt already registered yu can d s by fllwing the link frm this screen: Chse Dwnlads and Registratins frm the menu n the left. Select the apprpriate sftware and versin yu require, then click n the G buttn next t yur selectin: Yu will be given a File Dwnlad prmpt. Chse Save, and select an apprpriate destinatin path t save the file t: The setup files will nw be extracted t yur cmputer and the install wizard will begin. Page 6 f 26

7 Step 3: Installatin f the FllwMe Q-Server Sftware Brwse t yur save lcatin and duble click the icn fr the dwnlad server sftware. The install wizard will nw begin. Click Next t prceed t the license agreement. Once accepted yu will be prmpted t chse the installatin path. When yu are happy with the installatin path press Next t prceed: Yu will nw be asked t cnfirm the Prgram Flder yu wish t install t. Once happy with yur selectin click Next and the installer will cpy the files t yur cmputer: Page 7 f 26

8 Once cmpleted yu will be tld the install is cmplete. Click Finish t prceed: The setup wizard will nw run autmatically. The first screen f the setup wizard asks yu t cnfigure the SQL database that the sftware will be cnnecting t. Click Cnfigure Database and then Add t cnfigure yur settings: Enter the details as apprpriate. If this is the first instance f FllwMe n the netwrk, ensure that yu select the ptin t Create Database. Once yu have entered the settings click n OK and the cnfiguratin cmpleted will nw be in the SQL Server Settings list. Click n Next t prceed. Nte: When using a SQL server instance ther than the default instance then the server name shuld be specified as: SERVER_NAME \INSTANCE_NAME One als shuld be aware when installing with a SQL 2005 r 2008 Express Editin that the instance name fr these is "SQLEXPRESS" requiring yu t enter the server name as: SERVER_NAME\SQLEXPRESS Yu will nw be prmpted t enter the license details fr yur install. Click n Cnfigure License Key and n the next screen click n Cpy T Clipbard next t the given Registratin Key: Page 8 f 26

10 Yu must nw btain a license key fr the sftware. If yu are installing t use with Embedded services yu will als need a valid Feature Key. T btain these keys, lad Internet Explrer and brwse t Chse My Accunt frm the menu alng the tp and lg in with yur and passwrd. If yu have nt already registered yu can d s by fllwing the link frm this screen: Chse Dwnlads and Registratins frm the menu n the left. Select the apprpriate sftware and versin yu require, then click n the G buttn next t yur selectin: Under the Register Sftware heading, paste the Registratin Key that yu cpied t the clipbard, select yur prduct frm the drp dwn list, and click Register. Yu can nw cpy the apprpriate License and Feature Key t the setup wizard. Click n Verify next t each ptin. If successful, yu will receive prmpts telling yu that the key/s entered are valid: Click n OK, then click Next t prceed. Yu will nw be asked t enter a cst mdel. If this step is ignred a default cst mdel will be created instead. Click Next t cntinue and yu will be asked t enter a cst centre. Again, this step can be ignred and a default cst centre will be created instead. Page 10 f 26

11 Click Next t cntinue. Yu will nw be asked t add a printer. This step can be ignred if yu wish. Click Next and yu will be asked t add users. Again, this step can be ignred fr the time being. Page 11 f 26

12 Click Next t cntinue. The setup wizard will nw ask whether yu wish t use the web administratin interface r the traditinal desktp based interface. This guide assumes that the web administratin interface will be used. Page 12 f 26

13 Installing in an Internet Infrmatin Services (IIS) Server Envirnment Select the radi buttn fr Internet Infrmatin Services (IIS) and then click n Create Applicatin. A DOS windw will appear while the applicatin is installing. Yu will nw be infrmed that the applicatin has been installed. Click n OK. A further warning will appear stating that it is unlikely the IIS annymus accunt will have sufficient rights fr web administratr t run. Click n OK. Set the annymus accunt using the apprpriate buttn. Click n Next and yu will be infrmed that FllwMe Cnfiguratin is cmplete. Page 13 f 26

14 Installing the Web Administratin bundled Web Server (nn-iis envirnment) Select this ptin and click Next. Yu will be prmpted t install the Web Administratin Web Server. Click Yes t indicate yu wuld like t install it nw. The installer will launch and ask yu t cnfirm the installatin path. Chse the apprpriate ptins and nce cmplete click Clse. Yu will nw be given cnfirmatin that the Web Administratin Web Server has been installed. Click n OK t prceed: The Web Administratin Web Server Administratin screen will nw be displayed. Yu may need t change the prt number used. Click n the Start buttn t start the service: Page 14 f 26

15 Once the service is started, click n Exit t return t the FllwMe Q-Server setup wizard. Yu will be infrmed that the wizard is nw cmplete. Click n the Finish buttn. Fllw the final steps in the sectin Cmpleting Installatin. Page 15 f 26

16 Finalising the FllwMe Q-Server Installatin A web page will nw launch that will test yur system t ensure that it is ready t run the Web Administratr. Click n Test t carry ut these checks. If there are any issues they will be displayed n screen alng with an explanatin f what culd be causing them. When the system is happy with all the checks the fllwing screen will be shwn. Click n Cntinue t prceed. Yu will nw be prmpted t create an accunt with which yu will administer FllwMe Q-Server settings. Once yu have created this accunt, the next screen will ask yu t lg in. 18 Step 4: Database Cnfiguratin The Tls, Optins screen is used t cnfigure mst administrative ptins within FllwMe. The Database Optins sub menu is used t change database settings. 1) Chse which database cnnectin yu wish t edit, r add a new cnnectin. 2) Enter the settings fr either ne accrdingly. 3) Ensure that yu have saved yur settings. 19 Step 5: Cst Mdels The Csts, Cst Mdels screen can be used t set up r edit cst mdels assciated with FllwMe. 1) Add a new cst mdel. 2) Enter a cst mdel name. 3) Fill in the price and credit charge fr the different paper sizes which are required fr accunting. Page 19 f 26

20 Step 6: Cst Centres The Csts, Cst Centres screen can be used t set up r edit cst centres assciated with FllwMe. 1) Add a new cst centre. 2) Enter a cst centre name. 3) Select a cst mdel. Page 20 f 26

21 Step 7: Printers The Management, Printers screen can be used t set up r edit printers assciated with FllwMe. 1) Add a new printer. 2) Select Windws Print Spler r FllwMe Print Spler. If Windws Print Spler is selected then select a printer name frm the drp dwn list (Ppulated frm the Windws printer list). If FllwMe Print Spler is selected then enter the printers IP Address and give it a descriptive name. 3) Select a cst mdel t be assciated t that printer. 4) Specify the IP Address f the FllwMe Hardware device. Click the Device Cnfiguratin t cnfigure FllwMe hardware. Click Requery t refresh the device list. Select the device and click Edit. Enter new cnfiguratin details (Device Name, IP Address, Default Gateway, Subnet Mask and FM Server IP Address). Page 21 f 26

22 Nte: If this is the first time the FllwMe device has been cnfigured, it will have an autmatic IP address f ) Chse whether yu wish t use Interactive r Nn-Interactive printing. If yu wish t use Nn-Interactive printing then ensure yu have checked the bx belw: NOTE: By enabling the Nn-Interactive printing ptin yu are telling the system t rute print jbs thrugh the system t the printer withut the need t present a card at the printer. Yu shuld als take int accunt that the name f the printer that yu have created shuld either be the same name as the inbund Windws printer that is designated t print t the FllwMe Q- Server r yu shuld specify the name f the inbund Windws printer name within the text bx that is available. 23 Step 8: Users The Management, Users screen can be used t set up r edit users assciated with FllwMe. Use this screen t add printers fr the user and any cards assciated with the user, where apprpriate. 1) Add a new user. 2) Enter the cnfiguratin details required. 3) Add a card r multiple cards: Click the Cards/PINs sub menu. Change the enrlment device t the crrect printer yu wish t enrl the user at and click assign. Click listen and swipe their card. Click listen again t receive the card number. Click add t add the card t the user. 4) Add a printer r multiple printers: Click the Devices sub menu. Select the printers available t the user (r select the Enable All t enable all printers t the user). Page 23 f 26

24 Starting the FllwMe Q-Server Service Nw that yu have cmpleted the set up fr FllwMe Q-Server, the service needs t be started. This is dne frm the FllwMe service cntrl in the tp right f the web administratr screens. 1) Click the service start buttn (visually it lks like a play buttn). Page 24 f 26

25 Client Integratin Within FllwMe based systems the user has a chice as t their preferred methd f client cnnectin. The fllwing ptins are available: FllwMe Client Prt Line Printer Remte (LPR) Windws Shared Printers All three methds can be used separately r in cnjunctin with each user in a FllwMe system. T cnfigure LPR and Windws Shared Printers please cnsult the FllwMe installatin guides. Page 25 f 26

26 Frequently Asked Questins (FAQs) Q. Why d the netwrk lights nt cme n the hardware device? A. 1) Check that the device is pwered (Des nt apply t internal devices). 2) Check that the netwrk cable is attached. 3) Attach the parallel cable frm the FllwMe Printing hardware t a printer and hit the reset buttn. This shuld print a test page a shw that the unit is wrking althugh has a netwrk cnnectin prblem. 4) Attempt a hard reset n the device: Remve pwer. Hld dwn status/reset buttn re-insert pwer while hlding status/reset. Hld fr a further 15 secnds, release status/reset buttn. Wait 1 minute fr the device t reset. Q. Why des the reader cntinuusly beep? A. There may be an issue with the ID card reader: Des the device have the crrect firmware (Can see the device frm the device cnfiguratin within the printers sectin in the server sftware)? Have any settings been changed r did it beep frm initial pwer n? Q. Why d the devices smetimes disappear frm the devices view and then re-appear? A. This is by design because when a netwrk discvery is dne it uses a UDP bradcast and therefre packets are nt always returned. Q. What prts des FllwMe use?
