Check with your local dealers for the number of channels that is equipped with your system. Voice loggers are most commonly used in recording telephone conversations. There are two types of telephone sets available. Recording Analog Phones Regular analog lines are either from the PSTN, or local PBX. From the line that is connected to the PSTN or PBX, you need to have a split connector, where one of the two ends goes to the analog phone set and the other plugged in InterLogger s recording channel. Recording Digital Phones Since InterLogger is only able to record digital signals, the use of a split connector will be necessary to start the recordings. Regular digital phones uses both pair 1 and 2 for digital signals, thus one way is to use a split connector at line connected from the phone to the handset. The split connector should have the single end connected to the phone, and the split end connected to the phone set and the recording channel. The second alternative would be to use an EDAC (Expandable

15 Chapter 1 Installing InterLogger 15 Digital to Analog Converter) system to convert the digital signals into analog signals.
