1. Intrductin The ICP Cuntry Sftware is a part f the Internatinal Cmparisn Prgram which includes a series f statistical surveys held wrldwide t cllect price data fr a sample f cmmnly bught gds and services. This dcument is mainly fcused twards the Husehld Price Cllectin mdule f the ICP Cuntry sftware. The ICP Husehld Price Cllectin mdule is divided int tw sub mdules: Data Entry Data Validatin and Averaging 1.1 Abut this Guide This guide acts as a reference manual fr the User and features the fllwing sectins: Installatin Feature Overview User Guide 1.2 Scpe The scpe f this dcument at present cvers nly installatin prcess and features f the Husehld Price Cllectin Mdule f the ICP Cuntry sftware. 1.3 Definitins and Acrnyms Fllwing are the definitins and abbreviatins used in this dcument: ICP Term Price qutatin Lcatin Types Descriptin Internatinal Cmparisn f Prices This is the price quted by a vendr fr a prduct item as specified in the ICP prduct list. The price qutatin is basically the cmplete database recrd that includes infrmatin n the prduct, the utlet (shp, where this prduct is priced, the type f that utlet cde) the mnthly price, the variety descriptin, the gegraphic area cde, the mnth the price was cllected, and all ther attributes such as rural/urban, dmestic/imprted, sale price/regular price, seasnal/nn-seasnal, etc. These are attributes that classify the demgraphy f the survey lcatin, fr example- Rural/Urban, High/Mid/Lw Incme etc. The list f attributes wuld be cnfigurable by the Regin fr their cuntries This is used t take multiple lgical Page 4 f 73

Weights UI UM / UOM PC HHC Basic Heading IHSN TlKit Outlet Types Preferred Quantity Preferred UOM This refers t the purchasing pwer infrmatin that is captured at the elementary prduct level. User Interface Unit f Measurent Price Cllectr Husehld Cnsumptin Items In principle, basic heading cnsists f a grup f similar well-defined prducts, frm which sample f prducts can be selected that are bth representative f their types and purchases in participating cuntries. In practice, a basic heading is defined as the lwest level f final expenditure in the GDP, fr which explicit expenditures can be estimated. Internatinal Husehld Survey Netwrk s (IHSN) sftware tls which prvide features fr string survey questinnaires, dcumentatin n the surveys as well as survey respnses (data). The IHSN Tlkit uses internatinal standards called Data Dcumentatin Initiative (DDI) fr dcumenting the data. Set f five r six chices that characterize an utlet where price bservatins are cllected. These can be: Department Stre, Market, Street Vendr etc. These types culd vary frm regin t regin. 6. Cmmn cntrl features This sectin describes imprtant features f sme f the UI cntrls that has been used in the ICP Cuntry sftware. 6.1 Grid Cntrl This cntrl has been used in bth Data entry and Data Validatin and Averaging mdules fr displaying the bservatins. 6.1.1 Gruping Rws Enables yu t grup data against ne r mre clumns. If yu grup data by a clumn, recrds with identical clumn values are arranged int crrespnding data grups. The grup rw can be expanded t access the underlying data rws. An end-user can grup data by a particular clumn by dragging its header frm the clumn header panel r the custmizatin frm nt the grup panel. T ungrup the data, remve the clumn header frm the grup panel by dragging it. Yu can als change the rder f the gruping clumns using drag and drp. It's als pssible t grup data by a clumn by selecting the "Grup By This Field" ptin frm the clumn header cntext menu. T ungrup data, use the "Un-Grup" ptin frm the same menu r "Clear Gruping" frm the grup panel cntext menu. Recrds are always srted against the gruping clumns. If yu grup data against a clumn which isn't srted, the grid cntrl will autmatically apply srting in ascending rder t the clumn. Subsequently, if yu remve the clumn frm the grup panel its srt settings will be cleared. 6.1.2 Srting Recrds This feature prvides the ability t srt data against ne r multiple clumns. When srting is applied t a view, rws are re-arranged t meet the current srt settings. Page 69 f 73

T srt data against a Grid View's clumn r t change the clumn's srt rder, an end-user can click its clumn header. The clumn's current srt rder is indicated by the srt glyph (a small arrw displayed at the clumn header's right edge). If the data is srted in ascending rder, the srt glyph represents an up-arrw. When srting in descending rder, the srt glyph is displayed as a dwn-arrw. If the clumn isn't srted, the srt glyph is hidden. In the fllwing image, data is srted against the Cuntry clumn in ascending rder and against the City clumn in descending rder. 6.1.3 Filtering Recrds Filtering allws yu t display a subset f recrds frm a data surce. When filtering is applied t a Grid View, nly thse recrds that meet the current filter criteria are displayed. Yu can filter data against a single r multiple clumns. In a Grid View, an end-user can apply, change r remve filtering via a clumn's Filter Buttn. Clicking it invkes a filter drpdwn list which by default cntains the predefined ((All), (Custm), (Blanks) and (Nn Blanks)) values alng with the values f items. At the tp f the list the mst recently used filter cnditins are displayed. The fllwing image shws the filter drpdwn list invked fr a clumn in a Grid View: It's als pssible t add custm filter items t the filter drpdwn list which can be used t apply any filter criteria t the data when they are selected. After a filter has been applied t the current View the filter panel appears by default at the bttm f the View. Page 70 f 73

The filter panel displays a string which represents the current filter criteria and cntains buttns t disable/enable and clear the filter and invke the Filter Editr. It als prvides access t the mst recently used filter criteria applied t the View. 6.1.4 Hiding Unused Clumns The custmizatin frm prvides facilities fr adding and remving clumns frm a View at runtime by using drag & drp. Dragging the clumn by its header and drpping it within the custmizatin frm client area hides the clumn frm the current View. The clumn reappears when the header is dragged frm the custmizatin frm t the View's client area. Banded Views supprt the same peratins with bands. See the tpic fr details. The Custmizatin Frm can be pened by: Selecting Clumn Chser frm the header panel cntext menu. T hide a specific clumn/band, an end-user can d ne f the fllwing: Drag a clumn/band header nt the Custmizatin Frm. Drag a clumn/band header away frm the Clumn Header Panel, even if the Custmizatin Frm is nt visible Right-click a clumn header, and select Remve This Clumn frm the Clumn Header Cntext Menu. After clumns/bands have been hidden, they can be restred by pening the Custmizatin Frm and dragging them frm the Custmizatin frm nt the Clumn Header Panel. 6.1.5 Selecting Multiple Rws Fr selecting multiple rws at a time, d ne f fllwing: 1. Click n the rw header and hld CTRL buttn and click n the next rw yu want t select 2. Click n the rw header and hld Shift buttn and click n the next rw yu want t select 6.2 Tree Cntrl This cntrl has been used in sme f the ppup in bth applicatins and Qutatin/Observatin summary list in the Data Validatin and Averaging mdule.
