I Xtona version details Build Version BETA 16-12-2011 (Version will be changed in the release image) Bios Version - V5F3-RP (version will be changed once we get the modified bios) II System Settings 1. Central Configuration: This article describes on how to get the configuration file from FTP and DHCP scope settings. a. FTP configuration : Ftp server should be configured for anonymous user and configuration file to be placed in proper ftp path. File name can be as per user s wish with any extension. (Recommended the file name or folder which contains the file should not contain space / special characters) b. DHCP Scope ID configuration: DHCP Scope ID has to be configured for ftp server ip and filename, Scope id can be of user choice but it should be available. After specifying the scope id, Client has to be rebooted once to fetch the configuration file, every time the client boots configuration file will be downloaded.

Please go through sample configuration file, For more details on creating and configuring please go through the document. (xtonapro_config.ini) Changes can be made to the sample configuration and can be used. Multiple enteries are not allowed in the configuration file. (XtonaPro ini file Parameters.doc) 2. Launching XenDesktop: After getting the configuration files from FTP or DHCP, please launch Citrix receiver as shown in the below picture which will display list of Virtual Machines. 3. Certificates: To add certificates to thin client please refer below picture. The certificates can be taken from ftp or http path. Examples:- for ftp ftp://serverip/path/filename.ext for http http://serverip/path/filnam.ext Special Instruction: The file or folder should not contain spaces or special character

4. Keyboard Layout: The local GUI subsystem needs the keyboard layout information to correctly understand local text entries and fill local dialog boxes correctly. Keyboard layout offers the following options as shown in the below picture. The default setting is: US English 5. Mouse Settings: Below picture shows how to configure the mouse. You can set the mouse acceleration and can swap the function of Mouse buttons.

6. TimeZone and NTP settings: Time zone can be selected as shown in the below picture. Network time protocol is an internet protocol used to synchronize the clocks of computers to some time reference. NTP will automatically select the best of the available time servers to synchronize. Special Instruction: Timezone and NTP requires a reboot for changes to get effected on the client. Time should be set to GMT time before changing the timezone if ntp is not used.

7. Factory Reset: This task causes a VXL software factory reset and a immediate reboot. Complete implementation is not yet done but main functions like network, display, keyboard etc gets reset to default. Special Instruction: If flash is booted on a client and then replaced onto other client Factory reset is a must.

8. Network settings: Dynamic configuration When booting, the system broadcasts for DHCP servers on the network When answers are received, they are evaluated and the network interface configured accordingly. Simply set the configuration mode parameter to "DHCP" to activate the dynamic configuration. Static configuration To enable the static configuration simply set the configuration mode parameter to "static". Then the system will use the information stored in the parameters: IP address, additionally, you might have to add the following information too. subnet mask gateway Hostname DNS 9. Reboot and Shutdown: This task causes the system to immediate reboot or shutdown according to the selection.

10. System Information: The System Information provides you the following information: Memory Information Network Information Flash size Build number 11. Resolution and Display properties: Special Instruction: If by mistake resolution is set for out of range for resetting the display setting to default we have a hot key stroke Alt+Ctrl+0 On pressing the key stroke display gets to factory reset. (1024x768) Single monitor connected:

Mirror Mode: If both monitors are connected then On Screen settings looks as below Special Instruction: In Mirror mode for best performance please ensure that both screens are of same resolution. If there is difference in resolutions then the screen appearance also differs depending on the settings done. It s recommended that both are of same resolution in mirror mode. Dual monitor but want to use single: If dual monitor is connected and user wishes to use only the primary then please uncheck the active button. Dual monitor connected: Resolution and Orientation: The display supports the following resolutions as shown in the below picture The default setting is: 1024x768 Following are the options for screen Orientation

normal right inverted left Note: - if the Active label in Output menu is checked then concern monitor is connected at present. On Orientation we get the screens as below Special Instruction: Please ensure that there is no space between the 2 screens. Both should be adjacent to each other.

12. Ping and Trace route:- User can use this utility for testing the network (ping and traceroute utility) 13. Wireless settings: Note: - Not yet Implemented will be done later.

14. Firmware Upgrade: Firmware Upgrade lets you update the client image to a new image. It supports both http and ftp upgrade. Note: - Not yet Implemented 15. Admin mode: User has to hit the hot key combination of Ctrl+Alt+1 (1- Number Pad) to get the Admin Mode UI. On enabling the admin mode, the user will be getting the UI for all Settings and can change the same.

16. Reboot or Shutdown with Factory Reset: User has to hit the hot key combination of Ctrl+Alt+2 (2- Number Pad) to get the Reboot or Shutdown UI. Since the user will not have access to the taskbar, to reboot or shutdown with/without factory reset, the hot key combination should be used. III Bios Settings Special Instructions on Bios: For upgrading the bios please go through the document and follow the instructions (TC15yy BIOS Reflashing procedure.doc ) Changes in the bios default frame buffer size is Select 256 MB Bootup Time: Hardware 1GHz BIOS - V5F3-RP Boot time - 22 seconds. (Including BIOS & OS) Hardware 1.2 Ghz (Nano) BIOS V5F3-RP Boot time - 17 seconds. (Including BIOS & OS) Note: Bios version will be changed once we receive the revised one. IV Known Issues Known Issues 1> After changing hostname client has to be rebooted. 2> WM player not playing in secondary monitor (VLC works on both the screens).

3> Character conversion error in ica connection (ON ok will continue). 4> Warning messages character fonts missing while connecting ica session. 5> Primary and secondary display monitors cannot be changed 6> Display refresh related issues. 5> Audio and Video doesn t get synced in WM works fine in VLC. Yet to be implemented 1> USB redirection not supported 2> Upgrade not supported 3> Factory reset not completely implemented 4> Bootsplash to be implemented. 5> Few of the settings in configuration is not implemented will be later implemented. 6> Updating of admin guide for changing Xtona to XtonaPro (snaps)
