Version 10.2 Update Guide Annex Brands locations About This Update This update is primarily for the USPS rate change, effective Monday, January 17, 2016. See page 7 for details about what has been changed and added. You can run this update at any time. If you update before January 17, you have the option of loading the new rates before they take effect. Beginning January 17, the rate load process will begin automatically. See page 2 for details. Instructions 1 Run the Update If you ve already run the update, you can skip this step. Your system must be on Version 9.10* or higher to run this update. PostalMate network users: Every station must be updated one at a time, starting with the Master. You don t have to do anything to get the update file it will automatically download to your computer when it s available, and a notification like this will appear: *If you re updating directly from version 9.10, be sure to read the Version 10.0 Update Guide, which contains must-have instructions for new features 1. Close PostalMate on all workstations. When prompted, do a PostalMate backup. 2. Click on the notification message. An update screen will display. 3. Click on the Update now button. 4. Follow the steps in the install wizard until complete. (Note: In Windows 10 the notification looks a bit different than this) Page 1
2 Load and set new rates 1. After running the update, new published rates need to be loaded for each carrier. You have two choices: Option #1: Load the rates ahead of time. This is possible only for USPS, and only if you ve run the update before January 17. Either click on the link on PostalMate s main screen as shown below, or choose menu item File > Carrier Activities > Load 2016 rates. One or two days before the effective date of the rates change a notification like this will appear on the main screen. Just click on the link to load rates. If you re updating directly from version 9.10, you ll notice that PostalMate has many changes and additions. The Version 10.0 Update Guide has what you need to know! Option # 2 Wait until the effective date of the change. The rate loading process will begin automatically when you start PostalMate on January 17 or after. 2. When prompted, click OK to load the published rates. After the rates load, the Quick Rate Setting Utility will pop up, as shown on the next page. It s designed to assist you in quickly setting your wholesale and retail rates. Page 2
3. Select the carrier(s) for which you want to set new wholesale and retail rates, then click Next. (Only USPS will show here if you ve already done this for the private carriers previously.) Other carriers (such as FedEx and UPS) will also be shown here if you didn t go through this process when their rates changed 4. The next screen is for setting your wholesale shipping rates. Choose the desired option and click Next. Wholesale rates are those you pay to the carriers This is the most common choice Page 3
5. Next you ll set your retail rates. You can either use the Annex Brands recommended rates, or you can set your own. Make your selection on the screen below. Retail rates are those you charge to your customers 6. If you chose to use Annex Brands rates, click Finish. You re done setting rates for the selected carriers, and you can skip to page 7 for information about what s new in this update. 7. If you chose to set your own rates, click Next. Page 4

The following screen is for setting your retail shipping rates. Choose the desired option and click Next. This is the most common choice 9. Now set rates for USPS First Class Package Service, which is new in PostalMate and therefore has no previous margin. Click Next. This is the quick and easy way......but if you want more robust options, click here and set these rates later Page 5
[At this point if you re updating directly from Version 9.10, or for any reason haven t previously done this for the private carriers, you ll get screens for setting surcharge and add-on rates before going to the Insurance screen shown in the next step. There are no add-on or surcharge changes for USPS in this rate change.] 10. And finally, insurance rates, which are a bit more complex than surcharges or add-ons, because there are rates for both Declared Value Units (DVU) and flat amounts. Rates for other carriers (such as FedEx and UPS) will also be shown here if you didn t go through this process when their rates changed 11. After setting your new rates, click Finish. All of the rates you ve set in the wizard will be applied and the Quick Rate-Setting Utility will close. You re done! At any time you can run the utility again by choosing Edit > Shipping Rates > Quick Rate-Setting Utility from PostalMate s main menu. You can also fine tune your rates using the regular rate-setting features found in PostalMate Settings. Page 6
What s New in Version 10.2 This section contains a summary of the major changes and enhancements included in PostalMate Version 10.2. USPS rates and services This update supports the USPS rates effective on January 17, 2016. Rates have been changed for all package services. See page 2 for Information about how and when rates are loaded. For Endicia users, First Class Package Service is supported in this update. This service is for small lightweight (less than one pound) items. For non-endicia users, First Class Parcel Service is still supported, however it has a 13-ounce weight limit. Priority Mail Express Flat Rate Box prices have been eliminated. This applies to both Domestic and International Priority Mail Express. International Priority Mail Express Flat Rate Envelopes, and Priority Mail Flat Rate Envelopes and Boxes, now have special zoning, separate from the zones for Package Services. Commercial Plus Pricing discounts over Commercial Base Pricing are being greatly reduced or in some cases even eliminated. This update supports RS Associates Postal Rates, a rate program that requires your store to be an RS Associates Premium member. After loading rates you may be prompted to confirm if you want use these as your wholesale rates in PostalMate. Otherwise, contact Retail Shipping Associates for more information about this program. Standard Post has been renamed to Retail Ground. Parcel Select has been renamed to Parcel Select Ground. Insurance for Priority Mail International and Priority Mail Express International are now merged. There is no charge for the first $200.00 of coverage; the rate has increased. Page 7
