Security T access Chalkable users must be granted Chalkable permissin. Users must als be assigned ne r mre sectins in the Master Schedule. Grant Permissin T grant permissin t Chalkable, perfrm the fllwing steps: 1. G t System Preferences Permissin Maintenance. 2. Add a new grup called Chalkable Access r select the grup f users wh are t be granted permissin t Chalkable (ex. Teacher). Nte: If all members f a grup such as Teachers will need access t Chalkable the Access Chalkable permissin can be added t the grup. Hwever, if all members f the grup d nt need access t Chalkable, it is recmmended that a new grup is added s that nly thse specific staff members will have that permissin. 3. Under the Chalkable sectin check Access Chalkable. 4. Click Apply t save the changes. 5. G t Staff Staff Maintenance. Search fr and select t View a staff member wh shuld have access t Chalkable. Click their Access tab. Verify that the user is a member f a grup that has been granted access t Chalkable (i.e. Teacher r Chalkable Access) that was specified in step #2 abve. Nte: Permissins in Chalkable wrk the same in the InfrmatinNOW interface. Fr example, if teachers are nt granted the Classrm Maintain Classrm Attendance ptin under System Preferences Permissin Maintenance, they will nt be able t access the Attendance functin in Chalkable. Als, a Maintain Classrm Discipline permissin is available which allws teachers t enter discipline recrds via Chalkable a feature that is nt yet available under the InfrmatinNOW Classrm menu. Master Schedule T assign users t a sectin in the Master Schedule, perfrm the fllwing steps: 1. G t Scheduling Master Schedule. 2. Search fr and select t View a sectin. 3. Hme Page There are three sectins f the Chalkable hme page: Header (Class List), Menu Tabs (left), and Feed (center). Header Class List: By default, all sectins will display as separate bk icns at the tp f the screen. Click All t view all sectins r click a specific sectin. Click the Name f the item t access the scre entry screen fr the selected item. View Messages: Click t view messages. Exit Chalkable: Users may exit Chalkable in tw ways. Click the drp dwn arrw next t the User Name in the upper right hand crner and select ne f the fllwing: G t INOW: Click t clse Chalkable and return t InfrmatinNOW. Lg Out: Click t clse bth Chalkable and InfrmatinNOW. Click Lgin t return t the Chalkable direct lgin screen. Lg in using the email address and passwrd (i.e. nt the InfrmatinNOW lgin). Access varius ptins including: Menu Tabs Feed: Click t view a list f items. TD: Click t filter the list t nly items that have nt been marked as Dne. All: Click t view all items including thse that are still marked as TD and thse that are marked as Dne. New Item: Add a new item (activity) t a class. Attendance: Take attendance fr classes. Grades: Add scres t items. Discipline: Add, mdify, and delete discipline fr students. Apps: Manage, add and purchase applicatins that can be attached t items. Only available fr use with Chalkable Study Center. Messages: Create, read and delete messages. Peple: View all peple in classes, send messages, etc. classes. Feed Click t view items fr a selected class r fr all classes. Filter List (TD vs. All): Click t filter the list t nly items (activities) that have nt yet been marked as Dne (TD) r All items: Item: Ribbn: Gray if the item has nt yet been marked as Dne. Gld if marked as Dne. Click the ribbn icn t tggle between Dne and TD. Nte: Items that have been marked as Dne will nt display if the list is filtered t TD nly. Categry: Displays the categry selected fr this item. Class Name, Number and Sectin #: The name f the class alng with the curse and sectin number. Item Name: The descriptin f the item. Item Date: The date f the item. Icn: Indicates there is an attachment assigned t this item. Indicates this item is currently hidden frm student view. Scrll: The screen initially displays 20-25 items. New Item Activities in InfrmatinNOW are referred t as Items in Chalkable. Nte: Prir t creating activities in Chalkable there is sme setup that is required in InfrmatinNOW including setting up Optins and Categries. See the InfrmatinNOW fr Teachers Classrm Grade Bk quick reference guide fr instructins n setting up ptins and categries. See the Chalkable Teachers Helper quick reference guide fr tasks that can be cmpleted in InfrmatinNOW and/r Chalkable. Adding Items T insert a new item (graded activity r lessn plan) t a Gradebk click + New Item frm the Menu n the left. Select the Class sectin t which the item is t be added. The Add Item screen will display. Enter the fllwing: Class: Select a different curse if desired. STI_0123151555 Chalkable Classrm Basic Overview 8

Categry: Displays categries that are created in InfrmatinNOW. Defaults t the first categry. T change, select the categry fr this item. Name: Defaults t the numbered item f the categry. Fr example, if this is the 14th item added in the Hmewrk categry, the name wuld display as Hmewrk14. Click in the field t enter a new name fr the item. Brief Descriptin: Enter the brief descriptin f the item. Standards: Click t add standards t an item. See Adding Standards t Items n page 10 fr mre details. Attach App: This ptin will be discussed in further detail after the release f Chalkable Study Center. Attach File: T attach a file t the item click Attach File. A standard brwse windw will display. Navigate t and select the file. Click Open. The file will display as an icn t the left f the Attach File ptin. Muse ver the icn t view the name f the file. Click the name f the file t view the attachment. Items with a file attached will display in the Feed with a paper clip Due Date: Select the due date f the item. Max Scre: Enter the ttal pints pssible fr the item. icn. Nte: T add nn-graded items such as a lessn plan leave the pints pssible as 0 (zer). Advanced Optins: T use advanced items, click Shw Advanced Optins. Weight Multiplier: Enter the number f times the scre that the student receives fr this item is t cunt in their verall Gradebk average. Fr example, if the scre fr this item shuld nt cunt in the verall average, enter a 0. If the scre shuld cunt nce in the verall average, enter a 1. If the scre shuld cunt twice in the student s verall average enter a 2. Weight Additin: Enter the number f pints that are t be added t each student s scre fr this item. Fr example, if each student is t receive an extra 5 pints added t their scre fr this item, enter a 5. Hide Frm Students: Defaults t N. Click the circle t change t Yes if this item is t be hidden frm student view. Can drp student scre: Defaults t N. Click the circle t change t Yes if the scre fr this item can be drpped frm the student s verall average. Click Submit t save the item r Discard t clse the screen withut saving. Adding Standards t Items T add a standard(s) t an item click the ptin at the bttm f the Descriptin field. Using the tree f standards, select the standard(s) t be attached t the class and click Submit t attach it t the item. The standard will display in the item Descriptin field. Editing Items There are three ptins fr editing/viewing an existing item: Select the item frm the Feed list. Click Feed frm the menu tabs n the left. Click the Name f the item. Click Edit. Select the item frm the Calendar View. Click Calendar frm the menu tabs n the left. Click the day t see the items fr the day. Click the Name f the item. Click Edit. Select the item frm the Grade View. Click Grades frm the menu tabs n the left. Select the class frm the list at the tp. Frm the Bx view click the name f the item. Click Edit. Editing Item Once the details f the item are displayed using ne f the three ptins mentined abve the user may edit any f the item details including descriptin, pints, etc. Save: Click t Save the recrd with the changes made. STI_0123151555 Chalkable Classrm Basic Overview 12

Delete: Click t Delete this item. Warning! All student scres fr the item will als be deleted. Duplicate: Click t create a duplicate f this item. Select the class(es) t which the item is t be cpied. Multiple classes may be selected. Click Submit. Enter the details f the item and click Save. Mark Up (Anntate) Attachments Files that have been attached t items can be marked up/anntated by teachers and students. T access a file muse ver the icn that displays n the item. Click Open. The attachment will display in a new windw. Dwnlad Attachment: Click t dwnlad the attached file. Depending n the brwser used select t save the file t the desired lcatin. The user may then review the file and fllw instructins per the teacher. Zm: Click t zm in r ut. Page Frward/Back: Click the arrws t view additinal pages. Cmment: Click t add a cmment. Pint Cmment: Inserts a line t the text with a cmment bx ff t the right. Area Cmment: Draw a text bx arund a sectin f the file with a cmment ff t the right. Text Cmment: Highlight a line f text with a cmment ff t the right. With a text cmment the user has an ptin t delete the cmment r reply t a a cmment frm a previus user. Nte: If using Text Cmment, the user als has the ptin t select the clr f highlighting t use. Draw: Allws the user t draw a circle, square, etc. arund any sectin f the attachment. Select the desired clr frm the Draw tl menu indicate it as cmplete r delete the drawn item.. Once an item is drawn the user may Highlight: When selected a highlight tl will display. Text: Select t insert text int a dcument. When selected a Text Tl menu will display allwing the user t select the clr f the text and fnt size. Strikeut: Allws the user t strike ut text within the file and insert a cmment. When selected a Text Tl menu will display allwing the user t select the clr f the text and fnt size.. Delete: T remve a cmment r highlighting the user may right click n the item and select t delete/remve it frm the file. Each time the user clicks Cmment and edits the file a cpy will be saved as an attachment n the item. T remve a marked up file frm the item click the red X abve the file picture. Student/Teacher Anntatins & Ntificatins When a student marks up/anntates a file attachment n an item the teacher will receive a ntificatin. Click the Ntificatin icn in the upper right hand crner t access ntificatins. Or click the Messages ptin n the Menu tab n the left. STI_0123151555 Chalkable Classrm Basic Overview 15

Frm the ntificatin the teacher can click anywhere in the ntificatin t access the scre entry screen fr the item (activity). Click the arrw next t the student name t access their attachment. Click the Attachment t view/anntate. Mark up/anntate the file as desired. Click the X in the upper right hand crner when finished. When the user clicks the X in the upper right hand crner a ntificatin is generated t the student letting them knw the file was graded r a cmment was added. The student can click the ntificatin t view the changes. Nte: The prcess can be repeated as desired. Each time an attached file is mdified a ntificatin is generated t the user. Sectins: Click t view attendance fr All sectins r click a single sectin t view attendance fr that sectin. Absent/Late: Click t filter graph belw t display nly Absent r nly Late recrds. Graph: Each sectin s attendance displays in a different clr in the graph. Muse ver r click the sectin number/name t highlight the attendance fr the selected sectin. Students: Student pictures display at the bttm f the screen. Muse ver a picture t view the student s name and the class in which they are scheduled fllwed by the number f times they have been absent fr that class. Click the student picture t access the student prfile screen fr the selected student. Entering Attendance T enter attendance, click the Sectin at the tp f the screen fr which attendance is t be psted. The Attendance psting screen will display. Date: Click the Date field t select a different date if needed. List/Seating Chart: Select t take attendance via a List r Seating Chart frm the ptin in the upper right hand crner. Nte: An indicatr will display next t the student name if the student was marked absent n the previus day. Attendance By List T mark a student absent r late, click Present t the right f the student s name. Click the < left r > right arrw t select Absent r Late. When Absent r Late is selected and if the user has permissin t assign absence reasns t an attendance recrd a list f reasns will display belw. Select the apprpriate Reasn frm the list. Students marked late will display with a yellw dt t the right f their name. Students marked absent will display with a red dt t the right f their name. Students marked present will display with a green dt t the right f their name. Cntinue t mark apprpriate students Absent r Late. Nte: If a user inadvertently marks the wrng student absent r late just click Absent r Late and click the < r > arrw t change their status t Present. When all late r absent students have been marked accrdingly click Pst It. Nte: If needed the user may click Mark all Present t set all students t present befre psting. Once attendance is psted the status and absence reasn selected will display next t the student name. Attendance By Seating Chart Click the Seating Chart ptin in the upper left crner f the Attendance screen. Nte: If a seating chart has nt been created the user is first prmpted t create the grid. Click Create Grid. Set the number f rws and clumns fr the grid and click Save. Click Add Students. Use drag/drp t place students in the grid. If a student has already been marked absent, the absence level (absent/late) will display alng with the reasn ver the student picture/icn. Date: Click t select the date if needed. Edit Grid: T edit the size f the seating chart (rws/clumns), click Edit Grid. Enter the number f rws and clumns. Edit Students: T mdify the seating chart, click Edit Students. Click and drag students t their apprpriate lcatin. Mark Student Absent/Late/Present: T mark a student absent r late, click their icn/picture. STI_0123151555 Chalkable Classrm Basic Overview 20

Late/Absent: Select Late r Absent. Nte: T mark a student as Present, select Present frm the list. Reasn: If the user has rights t assign absence reasns they may elect the reasn frm the available list. Once the reasn is selected the reasn will display when the user clicks that student icn/picture. Students marked as present will display with a green dt. Students marked as late will display with a yellw dt. Students marked as absent will display with a red dt. Nte: The user may als click Mark All Present t set all students t present prir t psting. Grades Grades Screen T access grades, select Grades under the Menu n the left. Sectins: At the tp f the screen there is an ptin t view All sectins. Click a single sectin t access the scre entry grid fr that class. See Item View n page 23 fr mre details regarding the scre entry grid. Class/Sectin/Name: The class and sectin number will display alng with the class name. Click the name t access the scre entry grid fr the class. See Item View n page 23 fr mre details regarding the scre entry grid. Students: Students are gruped by class. Male students withut a picture display with the icn. Female students withut a picture display with the icn. Muse ver a student Picture/Icn t view their name and verall average fr the sectin. Click the student Picture/Icn t access that student s infrmatin page. Click All t display all students in the class with a graphic representatin f the current verall averages. Item View T access the Item view, either click the class name at the tp f the Grades screen r click the class/sectin/name in the list f classes. The current grading perid is selected by default. The user may view the grade infrmatin in a Bx r a Grid view. Bx View The fllwing is an example f the Bx view where items display in a list under the selected grading perid. Items/Standards/Final Grades: Items: Defaults t Item view. Click t view the items fr the selected grading perid. Standards: Click t view standards fr the selected grading perid and enter standard marks Final Grade: Click t view/edit the student s verall running Gradebk average fr the grading perid. Bx/Grid View: Select Bx r Grid view. The current grading perid will be expanded by default. Click the name f the grading perid t view the items fr that grading perid. In Bx view all items fr the grading perid will display brken dwn by categry. Muse ver an item t view the full name, date and class average fr the item in a grid view. Users may als click t drp all scres fr the selected item frm the student s verall running Gradebk average. Click an item t access the scre entry screen fr that item. Grid View The fllwing is an example f a Grid view where the students enrlled in the class and each item fr the selected class and grading perid display as a separate clumn at the bttm f the screen. FAQ Integratin with InfrmatinNOW Q: What is the frequency f the infrmatin that is cmmn t bth InfrmatinNOW and Chalkable? A: Currently, mst data is real time, such as grade entry, attendance, reprts, discipline entry, etc. Sme data, such as settings, are synced apprximately every 3 minutes. This means, if the user change a setting in InfrmatinNOW it will take 3 minutes fr the change t shw in Chalkable. The user must lg in t Chalkable after the 3 minutes has transpired. Q: What data (specifically) is synced? A: Belw is a list f all the tables that are synced between InfrmatinNOW and Chalkable and require the 3 minute delay fr the user t see the change in Chalkable. The user must als lg ut f Chalkable and back in after three minutes t see the change. All ther data is real-time (grades, attendance, reprts, discipline, etc.). Fr example, if a teacher changes the standards grading scales r any f the display ptins (letter grades, student averages, ttal pints, etc.), they will need t wait the 3 minutes and als lg ut f Chalkable and then lg back in again befre they will see the change. A: In InfrmatinNOW users can chse t display multiple averages in the Gradebk n the Scres tab including the ability t display averages frm ther grading perids. Chalkable made the decisin t nly shw averages fr a single grading perid because all grading perids can be accessed frm ne page. In InfrmatinNOW users are required t exit ne grading perid Gradebk and select a new grading perid. In Chalkable all grading perids are easily accessible frm ne screen. Lessn Plans Versus Graded Items Q: Hw d I enter a lessn plan in Chalkable as ppsed t a graded item? A: Lessn plans may be entered directly in Chalkable. In InfrmatinNOW an activity must be marked as graded using the Graded check bx. In Chalkable, a lessn plan is simply an item with zer (0) pints as the maximum scre. Marking An Item As Cmpleted Q: Why shuld I mark an item as cmpleted? A: When either a teacher r student initially selects the Chalkable link the hme page is displayed. In the Feed sectin the user may click t filter the list f items t All items r just T D items. Items that are marked as cmpleted will nt shw in the feed if the user selects T D.
