The imotor Compact with Quick Release is specially designed for switchgear where there is limited space for adaptation. The Quick Release makes it possible to performe a manual operation. When using an imotor Compact in combination with LINAK icom and battery a complete nonintrusive switchgear automation kit is available.

Special Features The imotor-compact is designed to control and monitor a wide variety of MV Distribution Switchgear including oil-filled / SF6 insulated Switchgear, Manual/Mechanical Air Break Switches and Ground Mounted Switchgears. The product range provides an easy adaption of existing manually operable Switchgear and combines modern technologies to provide a remotely operable intelligent interface for the modern electrical distribution network. The imotor-compact consists of motor assembly and drive mechanisms (gears) for two feeder switches. When need for automation of more than 2 switch, several imotor-compact can be connected via the RS485 Modbus interface. The iswitch system can default handle up to 8 switches in on system. Functionality The operation of the imotor-compact can be easily adjusted to a specific switchgear. By means of an Open or Close command the imotor-compact will perform a full switching cycle. The current switch position will be indicated and transmitted back to the RTU. Quick Release The imotor-compact is equipped with a hand operated Quick Release to select between Local and Remote operation. In Local mode the Switchgear can be operated manually with the original operation handle. In Remote mode the imotor will performe an automatic switching. Switching sequences Generally, MV Switchgear is operated by turning a handle approximately 90 from Open to Close or vice versa. The compact rotary uses absolute positioning to determine the setup postion for open and closed indications. This simple function is set up via our CompactLink software during setup and commissioning. Instead of a normal switching operation a special switching sequence can be defined. A maximum of five independent steps can be set up in each switching direction. For example a spring charged followed by a shunt activating to switch off (Open) (auxillary switchhes for open/close indication is mandatory for this functionality). Flexible inputs and outputs To allow other use of digital inputs than default, The imotor Compact can be configured for special needs of a customer. All physical inputs can be used for any logical input function such as lid indicator, gas pressure alarm, switch indication, manual stop etc. On the SUB-D connector, a number of outputs and inputs are available. All have default designations, but can from compact.ini be configured to export most Boolean parameters. Fault monitoring The imotor-compact condition is continuously monitored. When a failure has been detected an error is reported. To ensure a proper and safe switching process several parameters and inputs are monitored: Max. current, min. current, operation time, switch position, lid sensor, gas level. Configuration/setup By means of the PC software tool CompactLink the imotor-compact can be configured to a wide range of medium voltage switchgear applications. CompactLinak is also used for setup and commisioning.
