Internal Amplifier Amplifier Removal 1. Disconnect amplifier power cable from the UPS SURGE outlet. 2. Remove the power cable from the cable clamps. 3. Disconnect all of the cables from the front of the amplifier. 4. Loosen the two Philips head screws holding down the top of the amplifier. 5. Carefully lift the amplifier out of the jukebox as shown in the picture below. (Fig 1G). Amplifier Installation 1. Slide the amplifier into bracket mounted on back wall. (Fig. 2G) 2. Tighten both mounting screws to hold down the amp. (Fig. 2G) 3. Route the amplifier power cable through the cable clamps and connect it to the UPS SURGE outlet. 4. Connect all of the cables to the amplifier as shown in Fig. 3G. External (Peavey) Amplifier Amplifier Removal 1. Open lower front door and disconnect all cables connected to back of amp. 2. Remove the two screws show in Fig. 4G. 3. Open rear access door and remove the four screws shown in Fig. 5G. 4. Carefully pull out the Amp from the rear of the Jukebox. Amplifier Removal 1. Carefully slide in the Amp. from the rear of the jukebox. 2. Screw in the four screws shown in Fig. 5G. 3. Screw in the two screws in the back of the Amp as shown in Fig. 4G and reconnect all cables as shown in Fig. 6G. 4. Before closing Rear Access Door, be sure to turn up to full both A and B channels and turn on the power switch. Core Removal Core & HDD 1. Open the dome. 2. Perform shutdown procedure. 3. Turn the ups power switch off. The switch is located on the left side of the UPS. 4. Disconnect all of the cables from the top of the Core. 5. Unlatch the lower door. 6. Remove the fluorescent lamp in front of the Core. 7. Remove the cables from the front of the core. 8. With a 3/8 nut driver or socket wrench remove the four nuts securing the core. 9. Lift the core out of the jukebox through the lower door. Figure 7G Hard Drive Removal and Installation Note: Hard drives are static sensitive devices. Before handling the hard drive discharge any static electricity that may have built up. Figure 8G- Computer Core Module 1. Loosen the four thumbscrews on the sides of the hard drive. 2. Lift the hard drive out of its mounting bay. 3. Hold the hard drive by its sides and remove the Power and IDE cables. (When removing the cables pull from the connectors to prevent damaging the cables.) 4. Note polarization of connectors and insert the Power and IDE cables from the new Core to the hard drive. 5. Slide the hard drive into the new Core s mounting bay. 6. Tighten the thumbscrews. Core Installation 1. Place Core on four mounting screws. (Be sure that there are no cables under the Core) 2. Install four nuts on mounting screws. 3. Connect the cables to the front of the Core. 4. Install the fluorescent lamp. 5. Latch the lower door closed. 6. Connect the cables in the top of the Core. 7. Turn the Core power switch on. 8. Turn UPS power switch on. G1-4
Monitor Monitor Removal! WARNING: Due to the weight of the monitor removal and installation may require two people. The metal edges of the monitor frame may be sharp. Never touch the electrical components on the monitor as they may contain dangerous voltages. Figure 10G 1. Perform the shutdown procedure. 2. After shutdown remove the amplifier power plug from the surge outlet of the UPS. 3. Disconnect the power cable from the back of the monitor. 4. Disconnect the VGA and touch screen cables from the back of the monitor. 5. Remove the four 5/16 hex head screws on the bottom of the monitor mounting brackets as shown in Figure 9G. 6. Hold the monitor in place and remove the two 5/16 hex head screws located on the top corners of the monitor. Figure 10G. 7. Carefully lift the monitor out of the jukebox by the monitor frame. Be sure not to make contact with any electrical components in the monitor. 8. Set the monitor on its side as shown in Figure 11G. 9. Remove the four phillips head screws from the two bottom mounting brackets. Set the brackets and the metal shield aside. See Figure 11G. 10. Remove the eight phillips head screws on the rear of the monitor bezel. 11. Set the monitor bezel and screws aside. 5/6 Hex Hd screws Figure 9G G1-5 Monitor installation Figure 11G 1. Remove the new monitor from the box. 2. Set the packing materials and cables aside. 3. Set the monitor on its side. 4. Remove the four screws on the bottom of the monitor. 5. Install the metal shield on the bottom of the defective monitor using the four screws that were just removed from the new monitor. 6. Place the defective monitor in the packing materials from the new monitor. Include any cables that may have come with the new monitor. 7. Install the monitor bezel. 8. Install the monitor shield and bottom monitor brackets using the four remaining phillips head screws. 9. Carefully lift the monitor and set it into the jukebox. 10. Install the two 5/16 hex head screws in the top corners of the monitor. 11. Install the four 5/16 hex head screws on the bottom of the monitor brackets. 12. Connect the VGA and serial cables to the monitor. 13. Connect the power cable to the monitor. 14. Insert the amplifier power plug into the surge outlet of the UPS. 15. Power up the jukebox and perform screen calibration.
UPS Removal UPS 1. Perform shutdown procedure. 2. Turn the UPS power switch OFF. The switch is located on the left side of the UPS. See picture below. 3. Unplug the UPS power cable from the wall outlet. 4. Slide the cable hole cover open and feed the power cable into the jukebox. 5. Remove the power cable from any cable clamps. 6. Remove the cables from the front and left side of the UPS. 7. With an 11/32 nut driver or socket wrench remove the two nuts above the UPS. 8. Remove the UPS hold down bracket. 9. Lift the UPS upward off of the mounting bracket. UPS Installation 1. Slide the UPS on the mounting bracket making sure the two shoulder screws enter the slots on the back of the UPS. 2. Install the UPS hold down bracket. 3. Install the two 11/32 nuts securing the UPS. 4. Route the UPS power cable through any necessary cable clamps and feed it through the hole in the back of the cabinet. 5. Install the three power cables in the outlets. The amplifier power cable plugs into the SURGE outlet. The CPE and Core power cables are plugged into the BATTERY SURGE outlets. 6. Plug the UPS into a 115v outlet. 7. Turn the power switch on. Dollar Bill Acceptor Dollar Bill Acceptor Removal 1. Turn the power off by pressing the power button located on the rear of the jukebox. 2. Open the dome. 3. Remove the bill stacker from the DBA. 4. Gently remove the harness plugged into the DBA. 5. Release the lower door by lifting the latches located on each side of the speaker extrusion. 6. Remove the fluorescent lamp under the DBA. 7. Using an 11/32 nut driver or socket wrench remove the four nuts on the DBA bracket. 8. Remove the Dollar Bill Acceptor. Dollar Bill Acceptor Installation 1. Remove the bill stacker. 2. Set Dip Switches 1, 2, 3, 6 On 4, 5, 7, 8 Off 3. Slide the DBA into place. 4. Install the four 11/32 nuts securing the DBA. 5. Install the DBA cable noting the polarization of the 30-pin connector. 6. Slide the bill stacker into place. 7. Install the fluorescent lamp under the bill acceptor 8. Latch the lower door closed. 9. Close the dome. 10. Restore the power by pressing the power button on the back of the jukebox. 11. Enter Hardware test in service console to test. Coin Mechanism Cleaning The coin mechanism cleaning procedure will depend on which type of coin mechanism is installed. If an electric or electronic device is installed, follow the coin mechanism s manufacturers cleaning recommendations. Fan Filter Maintenance It is recommended to check the filters monthly. If the filters are dirty follow these steps to clean them: 1. Disconnect the fan harnesses from the core. 2. Release the fan and filter. Push up on the fan bracket clip to release the fan and filter. 3. Replace the fan filter inserts. To open the filter assembly, bend it until the top pops out of the filter case. 4. Remove the old filter to clean (below) or replace with a new one. 5. To clean the filter: Rinse filter under water When the dust is removed from the filter, squeeze out the water. Dry the filter with a paper towel. Place dry filter in the filter frame. 6. Replace the filter top. Snap the frame together. 7. Install the filter assembly in the bracket. One side of the filter unit has countersunk holes to accommodate the heads of the mounting bracket screws. Snap the filter into place with countersunk holes over the heads of the mounting bracket screws. 8. Install the fan in the bracket in front of the filter unit with the grille facing out. The fan and filter should both fit within the guides on each side of the mounting bracket. ι Take care that the guides do not enter the fan unit! 9. Clip the bracket holder over the two parts to secure them. 10. Remove and replace the second fan and filter in the same manner. 11. Reconnect the fan wiring to the main power harness. If a standard mechanical coin mechanism is installed, the following procedure can be followed. 1. Remove coin acceptor from its mounting bracket. 2. Using a soft brush, a mild detergent and water, thoroughly clean all surfaces of the coin acceptor making sure to remove all dirt and deposits. 3. Thoroughly rinse and dry coin acceptor. 4. Install coin acceptor back into its mounting. G1-7
