1. INTRODUCTION 1.1. Scope This manual ensures you to familiarise the hardware features and functions of Telematic Gateway TGW2.1 3G+WIFI W, assisting you in the safe or accurate operation in the vehicle. 1.2. Audience This manual is intended to owners or drivers without professional or specialised knowledge on Telematic Gateway TGW2.1 3G+WIFI W. Note: Antenna is not commercialized with TGW2.1 but is necessary for the good working of it. Antennas noticed in this document are subject to changes.
2. PRODUCT DESCRIPTION AND SAFETY 2.1 Electrical connectors Picture not contractual SIM- card An externally accessible SIM card drawer is meant for SIM card interface. WLAN Antenna The cable from roof mounted WLAN antenna is connected to this port to ensure WLAN connectivity. Main GSM antenna The cable from roof mounted GSM antenna is connected to this port to ensure GSM connectivity. Backup GSM Antenna This is a back-up to main GSM antenna. GPS Antenna The cable from roof mounted GPS antenna is connected to this port to ensure GPS connectivity. USB The driver identification cable is connected to this port. The other end of the cable is located on the dashboard switch panel and will allow the driver to connect a pen drive with his identification credentials. Ethernet The Ethernet port is connected to Telematics Extended Service Platform (TESP) Main Connector The main 40 pinned connector, facilitates the electrical and communication essentials of Telematic Gateway TGW2.1 3G+WIFI W, with Vehicle electrical system.

2.PRODUCT DESCRIPTION 2.2 Description Telematic Gateway TGW2.1 3G+WIFI W is an on-board un it used for data logging and communication between the vehicle and truck server. The telematics gateway will transfer the information to support the vehicle related s ervic es. To enable the communication to the truck server Telematic Gateway TGW2.1 3G+WIFI W services must be activated. AND SAFETY GSM-Communication: Telematic Gateway TGW2.1 3G+ WIFI W has a n integrated GSM module for the data c om m unic atio n t o and from the vehicle. The Telematic Gateway TGW2.1 3G+WIFI has a slot for a SIM-card. The GSM antenna is placed on the truck roof (combined GSM/GPS/WLAN-antenna). NOTE Do not place any metal objects over the antenna on the roof. Telematic Gateway 3G+WIFI Wcan determine geographic vehicle position through GPS -positioning. The GPS unit calculates the position with the help of signals from at least three satellites. Thus an external 3A protective fuse shall be installed outside of the unit, between the truck battery and the unit, on the power supply lines. The equipment is intended to be installed in restricted access locations, with at least 20cm or more away from person s body. For ADR vehicles: Power supply lines shall not bypass the ADR battery master switch.
