Project Brief Digital India is an ambitious programme of the Government of India with a vision to transform India into a digitally empowered society. The programme rests on three vision areas: Creation of a countrywide digital infrastructure as a utility for every citizen, Ensuring governance and services on demand and Digital empowerment of citizens. The Digital India Programme is a mission to prepare India for a knowledge future by making technology central to enabling change. Common Services Centers (CSC) (Hindi: सर व स र क द र) are multiple-servicessingle-point model for providing facilities for multiple transactions at a single geographical location. Common Service Centers is a model of innovative rural micro-enterprise in India which is run and managed by a VLE ( Village Level Entrepreneur)

As the services are rolled out on commission per transaction basis Delivering essential government services such as PAN Card, Election ID, UID etc. Greater exposure to other products & services offered through the centre. Education Digital Literacy Course on Computer Concepts for VLEs (VLE CCC) to train 100,000 VLEs/CSC operators on basic concepts of computer and computer-based services and practices by March 2016. Cyber Gram Yojana to impart basic IT literacy training to minority students, especially girls, studying in 1668 madrasas/minority schools in West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh and Tripura. E-Inclusion: IT Training for Rural ST, SC and Women Beneficiaries successfully trained 18,754 ST, 16,947 ST and 18,091 women beneficiaries in basic IT skills from 19 states across the country.

Education (contd.) Financial Literacy NABARD Financial Literacy Programme trained 1,01,359 rural youth, especially women, on aspects of financial literacy in the states of Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Jharkhand, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. Investor Awareness Programme was carried out in 300 select CSCs of Assam, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Odisha and West Bengal to impart investor awareness for 9752 rural beneficiaries.

National Digital Literacy Mission (NDLM) National Digital Literacy Mission is an ambitious programme formulated under the Digital India initiative to impart digital literacy to 52.5 lakh persons, in the age group of 14-60 years, across the country. Scheme also covers all Anganwadi workers and Accredited Social Health Activist (ASHA) workers and authorised ration dealers across the country. Two levels of IT training to be provided: Appreciation of Digital Literacy (Level 1) and Basics of Digital Literacy (Level 2)
