ConneXSoft DASCXSiLink DA Server V5 Deployment Guide 2017 ConneXSoft www.connexsoft.com
Overview The DASCXSiLink DAServer is a Microsoft Windows application program that acts as a communications protocol server. It provides other Windows application programs with access to data from the Echelon i.lon SmartServer. The DASCXSiLink DAServer provides the following features: Support of multiple application-level client protocols: o OPC o DDE o Wonderware fastdde/suitelink Central configuration in the Microsoft Management Console (SMC) Live diagnostics Namespace import via csv files Full support of i.lon item datatypes Logging support (configurable log levels) OPC browsing Operates without the installation of the additional middleware Access via i.lon web services (supports remote connections via Internet) Installation Install the software by double-clicking setup.exe and follow the installation instructions. After installation the DA Server can be configured via System Management Console (SMC) under start -> All Programs -> ConneXSoft. Configuration Open the System Management Console (SMC) - Start -> All Programs -> ConneXSoft Expand the DAServer Manager nodes to view the CXS ilink DAServer Create an instance of the ilinkport object by right clicking on the Configuration
Set the http port number (default is 80) Create an ilon device object for each of the Echelon Smart Servers you wish to communicate with.
Right click on the ilinkport object created in the previous step and click Add ilon object Enter the IP address for the SmartServer:
Browsing the Echelon Smart Server data points Set the Scan OPC namespace on startup : Note: The ilon object "Scan OPC name space on startup" setting generates a.csv file listing the alias names and references of the datapoints on a device which is scanned by the DAServer at startup. This file is saved in the following directory: "C:\ProgramData\ConneXSoft\DAServer\DASCXSiLink" using the name of the ilon object as the file name with a.csv extension. This file can then be imported into the SMC configuration to utilize the alias names and data references. Add a Device Group:
Save the ilon Device configuration Running the DA Server for the first time Let the Server run for a few minutes to allow the DA Server to scan the Echelon SmartServer and generate the Data Item List. Then click the read icon to deactivate and stop the server. Turn off the Scan OPC name space on startup command
Import the Item List Right-click in the Device Items box. Click Import on the menu. The Open dialog box appears. Navigate to the folder: C: \ProgramData\ConneXSoft\DAServer\DASXCSiLink Import the file that has the same name as the ilon device appended with a csv extension:
The DAServer Manager imports the file and displays the items with the corresponding reference in the list view. The item list populates the entries in the OPC namespace. Note: The namespace csv file is populated with a data points exposed by the Echelon i.lon SmartServer. You can edit this file using notepad or Excel prior to importing it into the SMC to eliminate unnecessary data points. A reduced namespace makes it easier for OPC clients to identify data acquisition data points.
Accessing Items via InTouch 1. Create a new InTouch application and open the windowmaker. Select special -> Accessnames and enter the following configuration settings: 2. Add a new tag: Special -> Tagname dictionary -> new : tagname: Type: Item_1 I/O integer Accessname: Check: ilink use tagname as itemname If you want to use the name in the item list as the tag name 3. Create a simple value display by adding ######## into an InTouch window. Right-click on the value display and enter the following: User inputs > Analog : Tagname: <item name from device item list> 4. Be sure to activate the CXSiLink DA Server before switching to the window viewer
