Chapter 1: Shut Down and Restart Appliances If you shut down all appliances in CA CSDP and MaaS for example, for maintenance, and restart them later, shut down in a sequence. Note: We recommend that you log in to the virtual machine and shut it down instead of using the power off option from vcenter. Shut Down Appliances Shut down the appliances in the following sequence: 1. CA Service Operations Insight 2. CA Nimsoft: a. Unified Management Portal (UMP) b. Nimsoft Management Server (NMS) c. Remote Poller 3. CA Spectrum a. OneClick b. Spectrum main location server (MLS) c. Spectrum location server Note: Ensure that you stop the CA Spectrum application using the Spectrum Control Panel before shutting down the virtual machine. 4. Start Appliances Start Appliances We recommend that you start an application, and verify that you can successfully log in to the components. Before you proceed to start the next appliance, make sure that you verify the successful startup of the previous appliance. When you verify, be sure to: Access the URLs of the components from a system other than the host. Power on machines in the reverse order you deployed them and listed in this section. Power on and verify the vapp for each component before advancing to the next. Start or power on the appliances in the following sequence: 1. SQL2, SQL1, AD 2. CA EEM2, CA EEM1, SSO 3. Verify Startup of Appliances Verify Startup of Appliances After you start the appliances, verify that you can successfully log in to the components. The SQL server is deployed in a cluster on OSS-SQL1 and OSS-SQL2. 1. Log in to the server (OSS-SQL1) with oss\administrator credentials. 2. Navigate to the Failover Cluster Manager page from Start, Administrative Tools, Failover Cluster Manager. 3. Verify that the status of the following clusters is set to Online, which indicates that the SQL Cluster is running. Verify Startup of Appliances Verify CA EEM Startup To verify the deployment, log in to the virtual machine where the CA EEM is deployed. 1. Log in to the virtual machine OSS-EEM1 with administrator credentials. 2. Click Start, All Programs, CA Embedded Entitlements Manager, and then click Admin UI. The CA EEM Log In page opens. 3. Verify that the Application is set to <Global>. 4. Log in to the application with administrator credentials. If you can log in and access CA EEM, the deployment was successful. Verify CA Process Automation Startup To verify the deployment, log in to the virtual machine where the CA Process Automation is deployed. 1. Log in to the virtual machine OSS-PAM1 with the following URL with administrator credentials: https://oss-sso.oss.ca/itpam with oss\ 2. Click Start, All Programs, CA, CA Process Automation 4.1 SP01, and then click Start CA Process Automation. 3. The CA Process Automation Login page opens.log in to the application with administrator credentials. If you can log in and access CA Process Automation, the deployment was successful. Verify CA Service Catalog Startup To verify the deployment, log in to the virtual machine where the CA Service Catalog is deployed. 10 Shut Down and Restart Appliances
Verify Startup of Appliances 1. Log in to the virtual machine OSS-SC1 with administrator credentials. 2. Click Start, All Programs, CA, Service Catalog, and click the Service Catalog Web Client. The CA CSDP Login page opens. 3. Log in to the application with administrator credentials. 4. Log in to CA Service Catalog through the SiteMinder secure proxy URL: https://oss-sso.oss.ca/usm/wpf using the same credentials. Note: Ensure that the Service Catalog is the same once you log in through SiteMinder Secure Proxy. If you can log in and access CA CSDP, the deployment was successful. Verify CA Service Desk Manager Startup To verify the deployment, log in to the virtual machine where CA Service Desk Manager is deployed. 1. Log in to the virtual machine OSS-SDM1 with administrator credentials. 2. Click Start, All Programs, CA, and then click CA SDM. The CA SDM Login page opens. 3. Log in to the application with administrator credentials. 4. Log in to CA SDM through the SiteMinder secure proxy URL: https://oss-sso.oss.ca/caisd/pdmweb.exe using the same credentials. Note: Ensure that the Service Desk is the same once you log in through SiteMinder Secure Proxy. If you can log in and access CA SDM, the deployment was successful. Verify CA Spectrum Startup To verify the deployment, log in to the virtual machine where the SpectroSERVER is deployed. 1. Log in to the virtual machine with administrator credentials. Verify Startup of Appliances 2. Click Start, All Programs, CA, and then start SPECTRUM Control Panel-MaaS-Spectrum. The CA SpectrumLogin page opens. 3. Log in to the application with administrator credentials. 4. Ensure that the SpectroSERVER status is RUNNING. You have verified that SpectroSERVER is deployed. Verify CA Spectrum Oneclick Startup To verify the deployment, log in to the virtual machine where the CA Spectrum OneClick is deployed. 1. Log in to the virtual machine with administrator credentials. Application: MaaS-OneClick. 2. Click Start, All Programs, CA, and then start CA Spectrum OneClick Console. The CA Spectrum OneClick Login page opens. 3. Log in to the system with administrator credentials. The CA Spectrum OneClick Home page opens. You have verified that the CA Spectrum OneClick server is deployed. Verify CA Nimsoft Infrastructure Manager Startup To verify the deployment, log in to the virtual machine where the CA Nimsoft Infrastructure Manager is deployed. 1. Log in to Nimsoft Infrastructure Manager host with administrator credentials. 2. Click Start, All Programs, Nimsoft Monitoring, Infrastructure Manager. The Nimsoft Infrastructure Manager window opens. You have verified that Nimsoft Infrastructure Manager is deployed. Verify CA Nimsoft Unified Management Portal Startup To verify the deployment, log in to the virtual machine where the CA Nimsoft Unified Management Portal (UMP) is deployed. 12 Shut Down and Restart Appliances
Verify Startup of Appliances 1. Open a browser and type the URL: http://{nimsoft ump hostname}:{nimsoftumpport}/web/administrator/admin-console Example: http://10.131.117.141:8086/web/administrator/admin-console. 2.
