System Overview The PracticeWire program is strategically placed All-In-One screens and newer component version screens that offer up-to-the-minute medical research and office management information. The cellular systems consist of a 27 monitor with a CPU installed inside. The component system connects over Ethernet and includes a 27 monitor with an AOpen CPU mounted directly behind it. You have been furnished a site survey (attached to your dispatch email) that outlines the installation configuration for the site. You must review the site survey prior to your appointment. It is mandatory that you understand the equipment installation location(s) prior to beginning the installation process or servicing PPT equipment. Contact your field services support desk if you have any questions. If the primary office contact wishes to deviate from the site survey instructions you MUST receive approval from PatientPoint BEFORE PROCEEDING. Due to the nature of these offices, it is imperative that you represent yourself and PatientPoint in a professional manner. Installation Guide SITE NOTIFICATION As soon as you arrive on site, introduce yourself to the office staff If the POC refuses any part of the installation or wishes to change the flat screen monitor location, YOU MUST IMMEDIATELY call the PCM HELPDESK Open all boxes. Review packing slip Confirm all equipment is present & nothing is damaged Any missing or damaged equipment must immediately be reported back to the PCM helpdesk Determine connection type before proceeding, If Internet: FE MUST CONNECT LAPTOP TO DATA JACK, GO TO PORTTEST.PATIENTPOINT.COM AND CONFIRM ALL PORTS ARE SUCCESSFULLY OPEN, IF THEY ARE NOT, CONTACT PCM HELPDESK. If Cellular: Test Cellular Connection Connect Keyboard and mouse to the two USB connectors Place system near the desired monitor location DO NOT MOUNT HARDWARE Plug surge protector into wall Connect power cord to all in one system and plug into surge protector Plug Cradlepoint power into surge protector Turn on surge protector After power is turned on, you should see the following System Bios Windows XP Boot Screen PracticeWire Boot Screen (updating kiosk screen) Note the boot screen will displayed for up to 10 minutes DO NOT INSTALL Loop will begin playing BEFORE PROCEEDING TO STEP 5 PLEASE CALL YOUR PCM HELP DESK TO ENSURE CONNECTIVITY PCM Help Desk 1-877-233-9114 Page 5
INSTALL UNIVERSAL SLIDING MOUNT General Instructions for All Mounts The flat screen monitor should be installed at a height of 6 to 7 feet Observe patient traffic patterns to be sure that nobody will hit their head on the screen Mark the location of screen center, use stud finder to locate the nearest stud Draw a line between the two (use pencil) Flip template to match stud Use level to align; tape to wall Use scratch awl to mark the 6 point mounts DEPENDING ON WALL TYPE Install the following: (A) Install Snap Toggle toggle bolts (metal studs) Drill ½ hold. Hold metal channel flat alongside plastic straps and slide channel through hold. Pull straps until channel rests flush behind wall. Slide plastic cap along straps with other hand until flange of cap is flush with wall. Snap straps at wall by pushing up and down, snapping off straps level with flange of cap. (B) Installing E-Z Toggle toggle bolts (drywall) DO NOT DRILL A PILOT HOLE! Using a #2 Philips screwdriver, turn E-Z Toggle into drywall until seated flush. open. End with arrows up & down Install the universal sliding mount Hold mount in place & insert machine screws into the 6 holes. Use washers to increase the gripping surface area. Use a level to straighten mount before tightening screws PCM Help Desk 1-877-233-9114 Page 7
Special Instructions for Corner-Mounting From the corner, measure out 3 in each direction The template must not be aligned less than 3 from the corner This will ensure that the mount is hung at least 3 from the corner ATTACH FLAT SCREEN MONITOR TO UNIVERSAL MOUNT Back out security screws until they are flush. Lift the flat screen monitor in place Hook the top rail (Illustration 4) Lower flat screen monitor against bottom rail (Illustration 5) Slide flat screen monitor left or right until it is aligned at the desired place (Illustration 6) Tighten the lower security screws (Illustration 7) 4 5 7 6 PCM Help Desk 1-877-233-9114 Page 8
CONNECT POWER STRIP AND POWER CABLES Slide power strip along lower rail of universal mount Slide CPU power brick above power strip and connect power cord to brick Connect power cord to CPU Plug screen power cord into power strip and power cord into screen Note component system shown in above photos. SYSTEM CONNECTIONS INTERNET Plug the 100 foot CAT5 cable into the network port on the back of appliance or to network port on the bottom side of the AIO system Remove drop ceiling panel above flat screen monitor; route CAT5 cable above drop ceiling & down wall at RJ45 jack location If there are no available ports on the network jack, install the network switch provided; plug in the power adapter, unplug the existing network cable from site s CPU, install switch, plug CPU cable into the switch, as well as the CAT5 cable from the HAN system Connect keyboard, mouse and turn on equipment Confirm computer name should equal Site ID# plus program type pwr, e.g. 1234567pwr Confirm system date/ time/ time zone Once all setting are confirmed to be correct reboot system and call PCM help desk to confirm connectivity. Cover any Exposed Cords with Panduit DO NOT UNCOVER ADHESIVE BACKING! The Panduit is to be attached to the wall using ONLY SCREWS! One screw at each end of a section. Use a bubble level to ensure all Panduit is straight. Secure any Loose Cords Using Cable Ties Cellular The power cord is the only cord that needs to be connected when using cellular. Connect keyboard, mouse and turn on equipment Confirm computer name should equal Site ID# plus program type pwr, e.g. 1234567pwr Confirm system date/ time/ time zone Once all settings are confirmed to be correct reboot system and call PCM help desk to confirm connectivity. Cover any Exposed Cords with Panduit DO NOT UNCOVER ADHESIVE BACKING! The Panduit is to be attached to the wall using ONLY SCREWS! One screw at each end of a section. Attach PI Booklet to Bracket You will receive a tether chain that will included a threaded claw lip and chain Feed threaded loop through the last hole on the left slide of the monitor bracket. If you push on the right side of the monitor, this part of the bracket will be exposed for easier access Feed clip through threaded loop. Pull chain all the way through the threaded loop. Tuck PI booklet behind the monitor. There are horizontal bars on the bracket that will hold the PI booklet in place Clean Up and Check Out Remove & discard all shipping boxes & leftover equipment. Remove plastic protection from front of monitor Sweep or vacuum up any dust/debris created while drilling holes. If connected to internet ENSURE all site equipment is working correctly prior to POC signoff Verify with POC and get signoff Call PCM Help Desk to check out and confirm completion of the installation. Verify SITE IS STILL CONNECTING AND CONTENT IS PLAYING Take pictures of install and fax signed checklist to PCM for payment PCM Help Desk 1-877-233-9114 Page 11
Servicing PWR Due to Non-Connect To date we do not repair the PWR system in the field. If service is scheduled a replacement AIO system or component (for Component PWR System) will be shipped for the tech to swap out. Service Process As soon as you arrive on site, introduce yourself to the office staff Retrieve all boxes that were shipped to the site ahead of time. Confirm serial numbers and computer name to ensure the correct system is being serviced. Open all boxes. Review packing slip Confirm all equipment is present & nothing is damaged Any missing or damaged equipment must immediately be reported back to your PCM Help Desk and PatientPoint Check internet connection with laptop on systems connected to LAN or power on replacement system and check cell signal before replacing system. The tech should replace the components shipped Confirm computer name should equal Site ID# plus program type pwr, e.g. 1234567pwr Confirm system date/ time/ time zone Once all setting are confirmed to be correct reboot system and call PCM help desk to confirm connectivity. BOX and TAPE all old components for return shipment and tell your help desk who the boxes were left with and how many boxes are being returned. Converting Cellular to Internet when system has a current h/b. Remove CradlePoint / USB cell card and antenna and box and tape for return. Use a bubble level to ensure all Panduit is straight. Secure any Loose Cords Using Cable Clean up and check out Sweep or vacuum work aria. If connected to sites internets ENSURE all sites equipment is working correctly prior to POC signoff. Verify completion of work with POC and get signoff. Call PCM Help Desk to check out.
