Installing Version 14.4 Drivers & Firmware for Colordyne Printer Overview: 1. Exporting custom media settings including media sizes 2. Uninstalling previous versions of software 3. Download & Install new Colordyne Driver & Firmware The following Service Bulletin will walk all end users through downloading and installing the new version of the Colordyne software for both the 1600C & 1600S. Please make sure you download the correct version of the software according to what model of printer you have. 1. Exporting custom media settings to Desktop Open up Devices & Printers and locate your Colordyne printer. Right click on the device and select Printer Preferences. Within the Printer Preference menu select the Import/Export tab. Uncheck Watermark and click Export. Make Sure to save the file to a local directory. 1
2. Uninstalling previous versions of software Open up your Control Panel through your Windows Start Menu. Within the Windows Control Panel locate and select Uninstall a Program found in the Programs section. Locate the Colordyne print driver that was previously installed and select it. Right click the selected print driver and select Uninstall. If you connect to the Colordyne via USB cable you will need to disconnect your USB cable prior to completing the uninstall process. 2

Download & Install new Colordyne Driver & Firmware Download the Driver & Firmware to your PC and extract the Driver & Firmware file to a local directory. o Click the link below and select the right Firmware & Software for you device http://vividdatagroup.com/support/manuals-downloads/ After you have completed downloading the software. Open up the install file and launch the WinSetup application. Once the application is launched - begin the installation by clicking Install Printer Software. As the software install begins you will be prompted to select between a USB or Network install of the driver software. o USB Install: The software will prompt you to connect the USB cable to the Colordyne printer when it is time. o Network Install: The software will scan all devices on the network and will display the Colordyne printer once found. After the driver install has been completed you will be required to reboot your printer. Make sure that you do not print a test page when you get notified that the install of the software has been completed. 3
Open up the file containing the new version of firmware & drivers. If you have not yet extracted the firmware file you will still need to do so. Open up the Start Menu on your PC and click on A.ll Programs scroll down the list of folders till you locate the Colordyne folder. Within the Colordyne dropdown menu that appears you will see an application labeled Colordyne 1600C Driver Firmware Update. Launch this application. After the Colordyne 1600C Driver - Firmware Update application has been launched a new window will appear on your screen. Browse to the directory you extracted the firmware to and select nstar-r14.4-1600c-release-mjlcdt.bin and select Open. After clicking Open the Update Firmware dialogue box will appear on your screen with a list of Colordyne printers you have currently installed on your PC. Select the printer you are updating the firmware for and click Update. 4
Please note that while updating the firmware for your Colordyne printer do not power off the printer. After the firmware update is complete the Colordyne printer will reboot itself. Do not be alarmed by this, this is normal! Final Instructions: After successfully installing the drivers & firmware for your Colordyne printer the last thing that needs to be completed is importing your custom media sizes and media settings. In Devices & Printers select the Colordyne printer by right-clicking and select Printer Preferences In the Colordyne 1600C Driver Printer Preferences menu select the Import/Export tab. Make sure to uncheck the watermarks setting only leaving Media Sizes & Media Settings selected. Click on the Import button and browse to the directory where you saved the exported custom media sizes and settings. 5
