Introduction Internet banking offers many convenient facilities for our customers. This document explains the various facilities offered and provide a comprehensive guide for using Tropical Internet Banking (TIB). Tropical Internet banking is another product offered to all tropical bank customers. Internet Banking Facilities Using Internet banking you can perform the following tasks, Update personal details, emails, contact numbers, change passwords, request change of address, etc. Check the current balances for your accounts. Check the schedule of your deposit/loan. Request for a cheque book or copy of your account statements View or download your transactions and statements. Request for a Local / Foreign payment A detailed instruction for using the various features is explained below. Internet Banking Security Security and privacy of Internet Banking has always been a controversial issue. TIB uses industry standards technologies and encryption methods to ensure the privacy and security of the user. But the user also has a major responsibility in protecting his / her privacy. Here are some dos and don ts for the TIB user Never disclose your login details (user name and password) to anybody. Do not store login details in common areas like desks, phones or computer screen where others have free access. The Bank will never ask for your login details at any point in time. If you receive email asking for your login details do not reveal the same. Check with the bank in case of doubt. Do not reveal your login details in Internet chat rooms (internet cafes) or any website posing as bank s website. If you are in doubt please contact the bank. Make a mental note of the login details and destroy the same. Change your password regularly (e.g. once in a month.) TROPICAL BANK LTD Page 3 of 19 2008
Login Screen and Navigation The first screen to be seen in the Internet Banking is the Internet Banking Login screen. After login, the next screen is the Internet Banking Welcome page. The page has 2 sections, on the left, the navigation panel that invokes various screens. On the right, the transaction screen that displays the transaction being done, account balances etc. [Figure 1] Figure 1 Sample TIB Welcome Page NOTE: Never click the Back button of the Browser. Figure 2 Navigation Panel The navigation panel has links to menu and sub menu. The sub-menus are located under the main menu. By clicking on the + sign, the menu expands and displays the sub menu. [Figure 2] Updating Personal Details To update the personal details like address, profile, password etc, click on the General Menu. The sub menu offers various options. To change the password In the Navigation Panel, click the General menu and then click Change Password. Enter the current password and then the new password twice. Click the Update button to save your new password. A confirmation message will be displayed. To change the email address, language, etc The profile contains the user s email address and preferences like language, default account etc. Click the Change Profile under the General menu. This will bring up the screen where the details like email etc can be changed. [Figure 4] To change the address Figure 4 Change profile screen To change your communication address, a completed form should be sent to the bank. The form is available under the Change of Address option in the General Menu. Complete the details and print the form using the Print Form button. The printed form should be signed and sent to the branch for effecting the change. Email a query Using the Contact Us option, user can send a query to the bank. The reply will be sent to the user s email address as defined in the profile. Downloads Using the Downloads option, a user can also download information such as activity logs, account transactions etc. to download the info, click on the Downloads option in the general menu. Select the type of download i.e. activity log, account transaction etc, enter Date from and Date to then choose the format of your download then click on the Download button TROPICAL BANK LTD Page 6 of 19 2008
Close account To close an account, click on the Close Account option under general tab, a screen similar to [figure 5] will be displayed. Figure 5 Close Account screen Any additional instructions can be provided in the section Special Instructions. This form should be printed, signed and then delivered to your branch. Activity log Using the Activity Log option, you can view the activities done in a particular period. Choose the transaction type you want to display and then enter Date From and Date to. Figure 6 Change profile screen Accounts and Transactions The Account Menu in the navigation panel provides links to check the account balance, view statements. Figure 7 Account Menus View Consolidated Account Balance The Account Balance option under the Account menu provides a snap shot of the account balances of all the account you hold. It shows the Actual balance and the cleared balance. Any deposit/loan balance is also displayed. [Figure 8] Actual Balance is the balance available in your account. Cleared Balance is the balance after taking into account the future dated entries. TROPICAL BANK LTD Page 8 of 19 2008
Figure 8 Balance Enquiry Screen To see the details of the transactions, click on the desired account. A screen similar to the one below will be displayed. It displays statement for the account selected. View Account Statement To view the account statements from date opened to current date, click on the Account Statements option under Accounts menu. It displays the account statement of your default account (as specified in the profile). [Figure 9] The drop down list on the top of the screen provides the list of account that you have access to. You can view the statements of other accounts by picking up from the list. The statement shows the various transactions done in the last one month. The details of each transaction can be viewed by clicking on the transaction reference number. It opens up a new screen similar to the one in figure 10. View Account Statements by date Using the Transaction Search option, you can view the transactions done that are more than one month old. Choose the account and then enter the Date From and Date To. Click on the Retrieve button to fetch the transactions done between the two dates. [Figure 11] NOTE: The maximum difference between the two dates should not exceed more than a month. Figure 11 Transaction Search As in account statement, you click on the transaction reference number of your choice to view the transaction details. View Loan / Deposit Schedule To look at the schedule of any loan or a deposit, click the Loan and Deposit option under Accounts menu. Using the drop down list at the top of the screen you can view the schedule for other deposits or loans. [Figure 12] TROPICAL BANK LTD Page 11 of 19 2008

Transferring Money between different Accounts Account Transfer other allows users to transfer money to different accounts within Tropical Bank. You cannot transfer money to an account in another bank. To do so you should visit your banks branch in person for more information. [Figure 14] To make a transfer Choose the account from which the account should be debited. Choose the account to which the money should be credited. Fill in the details like the currency, amount and payment reference. Specify the payment date. This will be the date on which the payment will happen. Click on the Process Payment button to process the transaction. NOTE: The payment date specified should not exceed 15 days from the deal date. When the Process Payment button is clicked, system will prompt you for confirmation. [Figure 15] Figure 15 Payment Confirmation message Here you have the option of either confirming the transaction or cancelling the transaction. Verify the details of the transaction and click on confirm Confirm Payment proceed with the transaction. If you need to change the details of the transaction, e.g. account or date or amount, click on the Change Payment Details. This will take you to the previous screen [figure 14] where you can change the details. After you have made the changes, click on the Process Payment button to start the transaction. After the transaction is processed, a RE-AUTHENTICATION screen prompting you to enter your password will be displayed which is similar to [figure 16] Figure 16 Payment re-authentication screen TROPICAL BANK LTD Page 14 of 19 2008
If you want to cancel the transfer process, click on the Cancel button. This will abort the current transfer and return to the initial screen. After the transaction is processed, your transaction reference / ID number will be displayed. The transaction details can be printed using the printer button. [Figure 17] Figure 17 Transfer confirmation with Transaction Reference Transferring Money between Own Accounts Account Transfer option allows transferring of money between your own accounts held within the bank. In case you do not have two accounts you can not use this option. A message similar to screen [figure 18] will appear. Bank Services This section provides facilities to post requests to the bank such as:- Local payments request for RTGS transactions. Foreign payments requests for SWIFT transactions. Cheque book requests. Credit limit changes requests. Bank drafts requests. Figure 19 Bank services NOTE: In this section there are no transactions performed. Requests are sent to the bank and the same are processed later. Hence there will not be immediate changes to your accounts (e.g. increase in credit limit etc.) TROPICAL BANK LTD Page 16 of 19 2008
Local payment request (RTGS) To request a local payment through RTGS, click the Local Payment Request option under the Bank Services menu. A new screen similar to [figure20] will be displayed. To request a local payment enter amount; currency, beneficiaries name, address, account number, bank name and reason Figure 20 Local Payment Requests Foreign payment request (SWIFT) To request a foreign payment through SWIFT, click the Foreign Payment Request option under the Bank Services menu. A new screen similar to [figure21] will be displayed. Request cheque book To request additional cheque book click on Cheque Book Request option under Bank Services menu. On the right hand side of the screen select, the desired items (Cheque Book). Select the account and click on the Process Request button. A request will be sent for issuing a new cheque book. [Figure 22] Figure 22 Requesting Cheque Book Request Credit Limit Increase To request a credit limit change, click the Limit Changes option under the Bank Services menu. The new screen similar to [figure23] will list your accounts and existing credit limits. To request a change, select the account; enter the new limit required and the reason. Request Bank Draft To request a bank drafts click on the link Bank Drafts in the navigation panel. Select the account against which the draft should be made. Fill in the details of the draft, such as, the name that should appear in the draft, amount, currency and date as required on the draft. Any additional instructions can be provided in the section Special Instructions. Press Process Request to send the request to the bank.
