Introduction 1 1.1 Getting Started This Getting Started provides you with information on how to create customized visualizations for your Assets connected to MindSphere. You can use these visualizations to analyze your own Assets or publish visualizations to customers. This document also describes Connector and you can find in the MindSphere Launchpad. is based on Tableau. For more information on how to work with Tableau to its full extent, this document lists multiple references in chapter Further Help (Page 20). 1.2 Overview of "" in MindSphere After ordering Advanced Visualization from Digital Exchange, Connector and will be added to your MindSphere Launchpad. Connector In Connector you can create and manage datasources for the data that you want to visualize. In you can create customized visualizations based on the datasources you have created in Connector. is built on Tableau the leader in data visualization and visual analytics which offers you many possibilities to visualize your data. A user with this role is able to use and can view visualizations. A user with this role is able to use Connector and can add new datasources. User roles can be managed in User Management. The datasource is functioning, but the synchronization between the datasource and MindSphere isn't working. If this symbol is displayed, please contact the MindSphere support. The datasource is not accessable. If this symbol is displayed, please contact the MindSphere support. The datasource is currently synchronizing. Name Tags Name and save location of the datasource Possibility to attach metadata to the datasource (for organizing and filtering the data) Update Date of the last synchronization (or: "never updated") Update mode: "automatic" or "manual" Meta Size of the datasource Number of workbooks in which the datasource is used (A workbook is a collection of multiple visualizations that can be saved as a dashboard.) 3.2 Creating a new datasource To create a new datasource in Connector, click on. Connecting "" to MindSphere data 3.2 Creating a new datasource 3.2.1 Step 1: "Choose datasource mode" In this step you can choose between two different datasource modes: Datasource mode "Assets" "Asset Types" Description This mode allows you to create a datasource for specific Assets from a list of Assets. This mode allows you to create a datasource for all Assets of a certain Asset Type. This mode ensures that newly connected Assets of the chosen Asset Types are continuously included in the datasource and synchronized. Getting Started, 06/2018 11
Connecting "" to MindSphere data 3.2 Creating a new datasource 3.2.2 Step 2: "Select sources" In this step you can select the sources for the datasource mode you have chosen in step 1: Datasource mode "Assets" With this datasource mode you can choose specific Assets and Aspects. The datasource which is created will contain data from all selected Assets that are connected to MindSphere. To choose Assets and Aspects for the datasource, click on the respective Assets and check the boxes next to the respective Aspects. The number next to an Asset shows the number of the selected Aspects in this Asset. 12 Getting Started, 06/2018

The created datasource will contain data from all Assets of the selected Asset Types that are connected to MindSphere. To choose Asset Types and Aspects for the datasource, click on the respective Asset Types and check the boxes next to the respective Aspects. The number next to an Asset Type shows the number of the selected Aspects in this Asset Type. Click on the project in which the datasource is saved. 3. Click on "Datasources". 4. Check the box next to the respective datasource. 5. Click on > "New workbook".
