INSTALLATION & OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE LE HISTORY RECORD READER These Instructions will inform you on how to install software to use the RS-232/USB Isolator- Adapter and your LE History Record Reader software. The LE History Record Reader will allow you to download charge & discharge history from a "Summit" or "Elite E-Series II" Battery Charger. Components required Computer with "LE History Record Reader" software installed. Battery Charger (Summit or Elite E-Series II) RS-232 Cable RS-232/USB Isolator/Adapter with USB cable. 12Volt DC power supply. (Used if equipment being charged is not available) Installing LE History Record Reader program software. 1. Once you have acquired the program file for the LE history record reader software you will need to install it on a computer of your choice. 2. Installation begins with locating the folder called "LE HISTORY RECORD READER" and opening. 3. Locate folder "Volume" and open. Telephone [402] 477-8988 FAX [402] 474-1769 Page 2

4. Locate the Application file called "setup" and open. 5. Once you have opened the "setup" file the installer will initializes. Telephone [402] 477-8988 FAX [402] 474-1769 Page 3

6. Once the system initializes you will receive this pop-up. Select or just verify the location for storing this software. Click Next. 7. With this pop-up please Accept the License Agreement, located in the bottom right of this window and select Next. 8. 9. Starting Installation process. Click Next and the window on the right should appear. 10. Once installation is complete Click Finish. 11. You may be prompt to RESTART your computer at this point. If you are please do so at this time. Telephone [402] 477-8988 FAX [402] 474-1769 Page 5

12. Let us now create a shortcut on your desktop for the "LE History Record Reader". Please go to START in the bottom left corner of your screen and click. You will see the "LE History Record Reader in the menu list, please grab and drag to your desktop for easy access to this program. 13. Preparing to Take Data 1. IMPORTANT! Locate the CD ROM provided with your new Isolator/Adapter. Install drivers before connecting this new hardware to your PC. 2. Once drivers have been installed connect all cables to your new Isolator/Adapter and plug in the USB connector into your computer. 3. Start your LE History Record Reader by clicking the shortcut on your desk top. 4. Make sure charger is plugged into the equipment it is charging in order to get the DC power required. 5. SUMMIT Chargers only! Remove the rubber cover plug on the charger and plug in the RS-232 end into the charger. IMPORTANT: The RS-232 connection must have the all plastic side facing UP in order to function. If the metal connections are visible through the slots, it is upside-down. Make sure connector is aligned and connects to all pins. YES NO Elite E-SERIES II Chargers only! Remove the rubber cover plug on the charger and plug in the RS-232 end into the charger. 6. Start by slecting the "Serial Port". Locate the drop down menu and select your active COM or Serial Port from the list. "Drop down menu" Click Here! * You may need to click on the "Refresh" option if you are having any issues with your Serial Port / Com connection. Telephone [402] 477-8988 FAX [402] 474-1769 Page 10

7. Number of "History Records to Read": Your new program will default to a maximum of 50 cycle reads every time you launch this application. If you would like to change the number of reads, simply change this number to anything lower than 50 record reads. 50 Reads Max Default. Select any number less than 50. 8. Direct the Directory to Save File to the appropriate file destination sorted by the name of the location and the current date, i.e. C:\Temp\CourseName\mm-dd-yy (Example: Arrowhead Golf Course on June 10, 2013 would enter C:\Temp\Arrowhead\06-10-13) 1. Click on Folder icon. 2. Select Directory\Folder to save your data in. See example mentioned above. Please leave the File name "BLANK" 3. Click "Current Folder" 9. 10. If the Data Read from Charger looks like the picture below you have a bad connection. Check charger connection as show in step #6, if charger connection is not working please repeat steps #6 thru #11 to verify the Serial port / Com connection was made properly. Here is a view of a good Charger and Serial port / Com connection. Notice: Data present in both the "Data Read from Charger" window and in the "History Records" columns. 11. Once the "Progress" bar is filled and the Current Record number matches the "History Records to Read" number the process is complete. Click the Blue "Write to File" button. "Write to File" Button These numbers should match each other once the process is complete. 12. A pop-up will say C:\Temp\CourseName\mm-dd-yy\serialnumber-time.csv saved! per the information added in step #9. Click OK button. The data was saved successfully! (Note: serial number-time will be a series of numbers separated by a dash. These are added automatically by the computer and should not be changed.) Collecting Additional Data 13. 14. Plug the connection into the next charger and click on the button. 15. Once the process is complete (Ref. Step #12) simply click on the button. Finished Collecting Data 16. Click the button. 17.
