Requirements To enable Mailchimp Integration with Medusa you need: Medusa Server or Coworker or Guest Appliance Mailchimp Account Branded Gateway already set up And then you need to order Mailchimp Integration at one of these levels. 100 Events / Month 1000 Events / Month 5000 Events / Month

What is the Branded Gateway? User sees this after accessing WiFi network. This is the Branded Gateway that comes with Medusa logo, text and subtitle are editable. User clicks Guest. Mailchimp integration is attached to the Branded Gateway for Guests. You need to have this set up first. If you don t please ask for the appropriate form.

Get the Mailchimp API Key Go to Your Account, then Extras, then API Keys Transfer this key to order form include suffix
Now create a Mailchimp List
Add List Merge Fields Every Guest that is added fixed content Email, First, Last, Created But there is also optional additional data. To use this you must add Merge Field IDs to your list: LOCATION or BUILDING which is taken from the title of your branded gateway screen SOURCE which is always WiFi but useful if you are merging these contacts with other lists CREATED (date of access). Note the Merge ID for this is now INDATE
Thus go: Settings, List Fields You need to go here to add Merge Fields if you want extra data
Add Merge Fields Both Field Label & Tag columns required
And your list will look like this
Now get the List ID and add to form Transfer this to order form

Send Welcome option On the order form you can specify that a Send Welcome email is sent immediately the user is added to the list. This includes unsubscribe links. For that reason some operators prefer to wait and send an automated email later.
A note on Double Option Double Optin mena stat the Send Welcome message option sends a link to the Guest which needs to click in order to be added to the list. Normally this is not used in WiFi access situations If you need it, please click the text box below but be aware that WiFi access is immediate and ignores Double Optin

Guest Access Errors WHAT HAPPENS WHEN GUEST DOESN T COMPLY TO RULES
Gateway Checks When the Guest enters an email address, the Medusa gateway performs basic checks: Is the email address well formed? We may also test if email domain looks capable of receiving emails. We have gateway log data on request (for a month or so) if you need to investigate errors.
Mailchimp Tests Mailchimp does additional tests Does email look fake? Look like spam? Is it generic and not true identity (eg admin@) Also note that validity checks occur bioth at entry (right) and also when running a campaign, when differet rules apply.
