NEW PROGRAMS A.S. Degree in Network Systems Technology The current A.S. degree in Networking Services Technology has been daggered by Florida Department of Education and will sunset at the end of the 2013-14 academic year; the proposed new A.S. degree in Network Systems Technology is the replacement degree which is proposed to begin with the 2014-15 academic year. This program prepares students for careers in Information Technology. Eight year growth projections in the region show growth of between 6.4% and 13.6% for occupations such as Computer Network Support Specialist, Information Security Analyst and Computer Network Architect. Degree in Help Desk/Technical Support: Proposed changes are to delete four courses and lower elective hours to 5 from 8; courses will be replaced by new and already existing courses to better prepare students for A+ and CCENT certifications. The changes are based upon advisory committee discussions. Total credit hours for program completion have not changed. PROGRAM DELETIONS A.S. Degree in Networking Services Technology The curriculum framework for this degree has been daggered by Florida Department of Education and will sunset at the end of the 2013-14 academic year.
