What is a Smart Classroom? A Smart Classroom is equipped with multimedia components designed to enhance instruction and learning. The Smart/ Technology Enhanced Classrooms TEC were funded by the College s Integrated Technology ( IT ) Committee. The core equipment found in each room is: * Video Projector * Document Camera (Doc Cam) * Computer (with CD/CDRW/DVD drive) * DVD/VHS Tape Player * Teacher's Workstation * Electrical Projection Screen * Asset Management System The keys to the lecterns are available for checkout at your campus Instructional Media Services office (room numbers for each office are listed on the back cover of this booklet). pg 3

As a user your Responsibilities are: 1. Check out the key for the lectern at the campus Instructional Media Services office and return the key after use to the Instructional Media Services office so other faculty members may be able to use the Smart Classroom equipment. 2. Please keep the lectern free of all objects (to include food, drinks, etc.) so equipment does not get damaged. 3. Keep chalk and blackboard erasers off the lectern because chalk dust can cause extensive damage to the equipment. 4. Handle and operate equipment correctly and carefully. Electronic devices are sensitive and delicate. Pushing buttons at random is seldom a good solution. 5. Report equipment failures and/or malfunctions immediately to the Instructional Media Services office at your campus (listed on back cover). 6. Please turn the system off (includes all equipment), close and lock all doors on the cabinets, and return the key to the Instructional Media Services office after class or end of semester so other faculty can use the Smart Classroom equipment. pg 4
