The goal is to verify and certify the functionality, performance, quality and safety of the controller software program. To achieve that, a physical system s dynamic behavior is converted into a software model that runs on the simulator in real-time. The model accurately simulates the steady-state and transient behavior of the physical system. The controller is connected to the simulator s I/Os which emulate the real actuators and sensors.
