Downloading and Installing the ETS Upgrade Wizard 1. Download the latest version of the flash upgrade wizard application from http://www.ets-lindgren.com/support/ software-firmware-updates 2. Double-click ETSFlashWizardSetup_Ver_3_XX_Rev_Y.exe to start the upgrade tool installation. 3. Click Next. 4

4. Check Launch application. 5. Click Finish. The ETS Firmware Flash upgrade application will start shortly. 7

Flash Upgrades on the AMS-7000 Turntable 1. Download the positioner flash upgrade from http://www.ets-lindgren.com/support/software-firmware-updates to a directory in your local disk. Note: If the flash file was sent via email, please use the last version you received. If you are using Microsoft Outlook, drag the flash file from the email attachment to the Flash Wizard File selection list. 2. Load the flash file into the Upgrade Wizard by clicking From Disk and selecting the flash file, as pictured below. 8

3. Once the flash files are loaded, select the file you want to use and click Next to select the communication port attached to your ETS device. You should see something similar to the screen below. Note: If you are using an Ethernet connection to the ETS device and cannot see it listed, try clicking Scan for devices. If you still cannot see the device id listed, check your Ethernet card s configuration. ETS devices TCP/IPv4 subnet masks are set by default to 255.255.255.0. Your computer Ethernet card connected to the ETS device must be configured with the same subnet mask or the Wizard will not be able to communicate to the device. 9

4. Select the communication port connected to your device and click Next. The Wizard will display the next screen giving you a chance to review the firmware upgrade revision history before upgrading the device. 5. Click Upgrade to start your device firmware upgrade. If the device is already upgraded with the same or a newer version of the firmware, the Wizard will display a warning before letting you proceed with the firmware installation. Click Yes if you wish to proceed with the upgrade. The Wizard will transfer and install the new firmware in to the device. Wait until the completion of the upgrade task. Do not cycle power or disconnect your device. Note: If you need to abort the upgrade, click Cancel and wait for the task to abort. Interrupting the upgrade could cause the device to malfunction, requiring a return to the factory for repair. 11

12 6. Once the upgrade is complete and you see the following screen, click Close to exit the application.

Flash Upgrades on the HI-1710A Microwave Oven Survey Meter 1. Download the HI-1710A flash upgrade from http://www.ets-lindgren.com/support/software-firmware-updatesto a directory in your local disk. Note: If the flash file was sent via email, please use the last version you received. If you are using Microsoft outlook, drag the flash file from the email attachment to the Flash Wizard File selection list. Note: You can also select the flash file from http://www.ets-lindgren.com/ support/software-firmware-updates and drag it the Wizard as depicted in the screen below. 13

2. If you have the flash file in your local disk, load it into the Upgrade Wizard by clicking From disk and selecting the flash file from a local directory in your computer. 3. Once the flash file is loaded, select the file you want to use and click Next to select the communication port attached to your ETS device. Note: The connection to the HI-1710A serial port requires a null modem cable. In a null modem cable, the transmit and receive lines are cross-linked as shown below. 14

4. Select the communication port connected to your device and click next. The Wizard will display the next screen giving you a chance to review the firmware upgrade revision history before upgrading the device. 15

5. Click Upgrade to start your device firmware upgrade. Flash Upgrades on the HI-2200 Survey Meter 1. Download the HI-2200 flash upgrade from http://www.ets-lindgren.com/support/software-firmware-updates to a directory in your local disk. Note: If the flash file was sent via email, please use the last version you received. If you are using Microsoft outlook, drag the flash file from the email attachment to the Flash Wizard File selection list. Note: You can also select the flash file from http://www.ets-lindgren.com/ support/software-firmware-updates and drag it the Wizard as depicted in the screen below. 2.
