CHANGING YOUR DEFAULT PRINTER If you want to print from other than your default printer, you need to change your printer on Zangle Remote App before you print. SAVING A REPORT AS A PDF FILE If there is a report in Zangle that you d like to save to your hard drive and possibly print at a later time, you can do this as long as you save the report as a PDF first. However, this is a multistep process: 1. First, you ll launch Zangle_RemoteApp.rdp. 2. Then, you ll set your RemoteApp-DefaultPrinter.rdp to CutePDF Writer. 3. Next, you ll print your report from Zangle Remote App by saving it to your local drive first, not to the Remote desktop (where it would be lost), and then opening report from the saved location and then printing normally. 1. Log in to Zangle_RemoteApp.rdp Either follow Steps 1 6, beginning on page 3, or use the shortcut you created by the following the directions starting on page 6. 2. Set RemoteApp-DefaultPrinter.rdp to CutePDF Writer Follow Steps 1 7, beginning on page 6, making sure to click CutePDF Writer in Step 6: 3. Print Your Report in Zangle_RemoteApp Return to Zangle_RemoteApp and print your report. However, you will be prompted to save this file. Be careful not to simply save the file to the Desktop because anything on the Desktop of the Remote App will be gone when you logoff. Instead, navigate to one of the folders on your local hard drive, and save it there. For example, let s save and print the Enrollment Analysis report: Using Zangle via Zangle Remote App Page 12
1 Select the desired report. In this example, select the Analysis/Enrollment report. 2 Configure the parameters and then click Create Pivot Table. Microsoft Excel launches and displays the report. Using Zangle via Zangle Remote App Page 13
3 Click the Office menu. 4 Click Print. 5 Click Quick Print. A Restrictions dialog box might open. 6 Click OK. A Save As dialog box opens. Using Zangle via Zangle Remote App Page 14

9 Double-click the folder on your C-drive where you ll want to save the file. In this example, we re going to save it inside a folder in the LOCAL DOCUMENTS folder. 10 You can drill down as far as you wish doubleclicking folders within folders, or you can save the report simply within (in this example) the LOCAL DOCUMENTS folder. In this example, we re going to save it inside one more folder on this computer, the Enrollment folder. Therefore, we ll double-click the Enrollment folder. Using Zangle via Zangle Remote App Page 16
11 Once you re ready to save the report, type a meaningful name in the File name field. In this example, we re going to name it AnalysisEnrollment May 21, 2012. 12 Click Save. In this example, we re going to name it Analysis/Enrollment May 21, 2012. 15 Navigate to where you saved the report. In the example here, I need to click OSDisk (C:), then click LOCAL DOCUMENTS, and then scroll down to find my Enrollment folder. 16 Click the folder that contains your saved report. (In this example, it is my Enrollment folder.) Notice that the contents of that folder appear in the right pane with the saved report at the top. 17 Double-click the saved report. IMPORTING DISTRICT LOGO FOR REPORT CARDS AND PROGRESS REPORTS When you print report cards or progress reports in Zangle launched from the Remote App, you will need to navigate to the folder that contains the district logo. Follow the steps below to navigate to the district logo for printing report cards or progress reports. Launch Zangle_ RemoteApp. Click Mark Reporting. Click Reports. CHARTER SCHOOLS AND LOGOS If you do not use the district logo in your report cards or progress reports, do not follow the steps immediately above. Instead, simply navigate to the folder on your local hard where you store your logo file. LAUNCHING ANOTHER SESSION OF ZANGLE REMOTE APP ON 1 COMPUTER There are times when one might want to launch a second session of Zangle on your computer. For example, a Site Tech might want to Process Marks for report cards or progress reports yet continue to work in other Zangle modules. In the past, some Site Techs might launch another session of Zangle on a second computer. However, doing so via Remote App would simply move the original Zangle session from the first computer over to the second computer. With Remote App, one simply launches a second session of Zangle on the same computer. First, launch Zangle Remote App (either from your Start button or the shortcut that you created), login, and click the appropriate buttons to open the desired application. In this example, Mark Processing: Next, launch Zangle Remote App again, going through the exact same login procedure as you did to launch the first Zangle Remote App session: Using Zangle via Zangle Remote App Page 22
Another Zangle FrontOffice buttons displays: When you hover your mouse over the Remote Desktop Connection icon in the task bar, you see that there are now two Zangle FrontOffice panes available for you to choose. Switch sessions by simply hovering your mouse over the Remote Desktop Connection icon in the task bar and clicking the desired session: First Zangle Remote session. LOGGING OFF ZANGLE REMOTE APP FROM THE REMOTE SERVER If at any time Zangle hangs up and won t respond to your commands, you want to log off using the following procedure. If you don t follow the procedure described immediately below, you could run into the problem of having Zangle still hung up when you relaunch Zangle Remote App. 2 Click All Programs. 1 Click the Start button. 3 Click SDCS Applications.
