How to Register for Amazon Business This is an easy to follow 2-step process to assist you to register for Amazon Business as a first time user, a user who needs to transfer account information to a personal email, a user who does not need to transfer account information to a personal email, or a user who already has an Amazon Business account. Please follow these steps prior to accessing the Amazon Business Punchout. Step 1: Verify if your Marketplace Email is Linked to an Amazon Account 1. Log into Marketplace (http://marketplace.ucsd.edu). Go to the top right hand corner where your name is and click on the drop down button. Select View My Profile. 2. You will land on your profile page where you will see the email address that is linked to your Marketplace profile. This is the email address that will be used for the UCSD Amazon Business account. Go to Step 2 for the appropriate next steps to register to the UC San Diego s Amazon Business account. Step 2: Registering for Amazon Business Go to the section of the How To that applies to you. Brand new Amazon User (email not previously linked to Amazon): Access Amazon Business in Marketplace (Step 1: Access Amazon Business punchout) and see Section A: New User. Amazon User (email previously linked to Amazon) who would like to transfer all previous account information to a personal email: see Section B: User to Separate. Amazon User (email previously linked to Amazon) who does not need to transfer all previous account information to a personal email: see Section C: User to Convert. Email Address is an Amazon Business Account (Not Official UCSD Amazon): Section D: User to Deregister from Amazon Business
Section A: New User The following are steps for new users whose Marketplace email address has never been linked to Amazon. 1. Access the Amazon Business Punchout in Marketplace by clicking on Amazon Business. 2. At the Welcome Page, click continue: 3. You will be prompted to create an account for business. Note: If you do not see a screen similar to the one to your right and land on a log-in page, that means your @ucsd.edu email was linked to Amazon previously. See Section B: User to Separate if you want your account information to transfer to a personal account or see Section C: User to Convert if you are comfortable with moving all account information to the UC San Diego Amazon Business account. a. Enter your name in the Your name field. b. Create a password in the Password and Confirm Password field. Remember to notate this password as you may be prompted for it in the future. c. Select Next Step 4. Amazon Business will verify your account. 5. Congratulations! You have now completed your registration for Amazon Business. Click on Start shopping to begin your shopping experience. In the future, to access the Amazon Business punchout, click on Amazon Business link.
Section B: User to Separate This section walks you through the process to separate or transfer the account information (order history, ship-to address, credit card, etc.) to a personal account before registering for an Amazon Business. 1. Access the Amazon Business Punchout in Marketplace by clicking on Amazon Business. 2. At the Welcome page, click Get Started : 3. You will be prompted to login. Your @ucsd.edu email will be prepopulated. Enter your password and click Sign in. 4. Since you want to transfer the account information to a personal email address, enter a new personal email address and then click Next Step.
5. Confirm that you have made personal purchase on the account and click Next Step. 6. Re-enter the new personal email address and click Next Step. Then, set a business password for your @ucsd.edu account and click Next Step. 6. Amazon Business will verify your account. 7. Congratulations! You have now completed your registration for Amazon Business. Click on Start shopping to begin your shopping experience. In the future, to access the Amazon Business punchout, click on Amazon Business link.
Section C: User to Convert This section walks you through the process to convert your @ucsd.edu Amazon account into UC San Diego s Amazon Business account. Note: All previous information will carry over to UC San Diego s Amazon Business account and will be visible to the administrators of the account. 1. Access the Amazon Business Punchout in Marketplace by clicking on Amazon Business. 2. At the Welcome page, click Get Started : 3. You will be prompted to login. Your @ucsd.edu email will be prepopulated. Enter your password
4. Click on the statement that allows you to convert into UC San Diego s Amazon Business Account. 5. Confirm that you have not made any personal purchases on the @ucsd.edu account and click Next Step.
6. Amazon will confirm again that you are comfortable converting the account into UC San Diego s Amazon Business account. If so, click Next Step again. If not, click I changed my mind to take you back
7. Amazon will prompt a final confirmation. Click Next Step. 8. Amazon Business will verify your account. 9. Congratulations! You have now completed your registration for Amazon Business. Click on Start shopping to begin your shopping experience. In the future, to access the Amazon Business punchout, click on Amazon Business link.
Section D: User to Deregister from Amazon Business This section walks you through the process to deregister from the Amazon Business account linked to your Marketplace @ucsd.edu email address and register to the official UCSD Amazon Business account. 1. Log into your Amazon Business account and download an order history report for the past 6-12 months (recommended best practice). 2. If you have other users within your account, you will need to remove those users from the account prior to the next step. 3. Visit https://amazon.com/gp/b2b/manage/deregister to deregister your Amazon Business account. Follow the screens to close the Amazon Business Account. This deregistration process does not remove any of your account information. It simply removes the Amazon Business Tag and converts the account to a consumer Amazon account. 4. Now your account is a consumer Amazon account. a. If you who would like to transfer all previous account information to a personal email: see Section B: User to Separate. b. If you do not need to transfer all previous account information to a personal email: see Section C: User to Convert.
