1.0 Scope (Range of Application) This specification document applies to LCD Bonded Projected Capacitive touch screen products designed for finger input. This specification applies to an LCD bonded to a glass/glass sensor with or without a cover layer or an LCD bonded to a cover layer/film/film sensor. Note: Projected Capacitive touch sensors are offered with a customer defined choice of a first surface substrate. Therefore sensor thickness, cosmetic durability, flammability, chemical resistance and light transmission will differ based on the first surface material. 2.0 Mechanical / Electrical Characteristics The specification data below applies to LCD bonded touch screens with the following properties: Customer defined first surface substrate. *See note above. Single bottom conductive layer. Single top conductive layer. Lightly wipe the surface of the touch panel with isopropyl alcohol or neutral household cleaning solvent (ammonia-free). LCD surface contains no foreign contaminants prior to bonding. Note: Cosmetic defects outside of the viewing area are acceptable barring electrical failure due to the cosmetic defect. Latent defects are acceptable outside of viewing area. Adhesive Imperfections Contamination and Other Discolorations Use TI Inspection LCD 2800633 fixture on sensor prior to bonding. If contamination or other defects (other than bubbles) cannot be seen using this fixture, parts are acceptable. Any defects found outside of the viewing area are acceptable. 4.0 Materials Handling and Usage Instructions In order to prevent accidental misuse or damage and be guaranteed the performance of product, you are requested to keep to the following: 4.1 Storing Store the products at specified temperature and humidity range, per the Environmental Conditions section of this document. Store the products in the original ESD packing materials. 4.2 Unpacking Do not hold or pull the tail of sensor or LCD to facilitate the removal of the touch screen component from the package. Check and heed the UP/DOWN mark prior to opening the package. Do not subject the touch screen/lcd assembly to heavy duty shock or pressure. 4.3 Handling Wear gloves when handling the touch screen/lcd assembly in order to prevent finger prints or stains and to avoid injury due to sharp edges. Never hold the touch screen/lcd assembly by either of the tails. Never place heavy objects or material on top of the touch screen/lcd assembly. Never stack touch screens/lcd assemblies on top of each other. 4.4 Cleaning Never use organic solvents on the touch screen/lcd assembly, except alcohol. Use dry cloth or soft cloth with alcohol, neutral detergent or ethanol for clearing the touch panel and LCD in case of dirt or residue. 5.0 Warranty Policy This warranty policy applies to Touch International s Projected Capacitive touch screen components. Touch International warrants all products to be free of workmanship or material defects as specified under the terms of the limited warranty policy per the guaranty period stated below. 5.1 Warranty Period Touch International guarantees this product for 10 years from the date of purchase. 5.2 Warranty Exclusions Failure to adhere to the handling, storage, operating, assembly or other procedures and parameters outlined in this delivery specification. Accidental or purposeful abuse, neglect or acts of nature. Breakage or physical scratches to the touch screen. Other factors beyond the control of Touch International.
