In your browser, type: launch.capitalpower.com 1
II. Click Download VMware Horizon Client Software III. The system will detect the version of the VMware Horizon Client software to download based on your device. Click the Download icon: 1. Once installation begins, tap the cloud to install 2. Tap Open 2
3. Server address type launcher.capitalpower.com, tap Add Server 4. Enter your Capital Power username and password 5. Enter your Entrust security code 6. Launch opens and is ready for use You can also open Launch from your internet browser by typing launch.capitalpower.com 3
AFTER you have installed VMware Horizon Client: Login to Launch 1. Open your browser, type: launch.capitalpower.com 2. Enter your: Capital Power Username and Password Entrust security code If you do not have an Entrust security code, contact the Service Desk. 4
3. Once logged in, you will be directed to your own Launch Homepage which contains all of the applications that you have access to. If you do not see the application that you need on your Homepage or in the App Center, contact the Service Desk. Sample iphone/ipad View: 5
Open and Close an Application Option 1: To start an application, tap on the application icon for 2 seconds, tap Launch. The application will load and open. Option 2: To start an application, tap twice on the application icon. The application will load and open. If you have not downloaded the VMware Horizon Client software, the message below will display. Click on Install the Horizon Client and follow the download instructions. or If you have downloaded the VMware Horizon Client software and you see this message when opening an application, click Open Horizon Client to open the application. 6
1. Your application will launch and load Tap the gesture to use the application 2. When you are finished, tap X to close the application 3. You can work in another application by tapping it. When you are finished, tap the X to close the application (see 2) To log out, tap the gesture 4. Gesture expands: a) tap b) tap Yes c) tap Logout d) tap Logout 7
Gestures When you open an application on an, the gesture icon will appear, tap it and menu buttons will appear. When using an application you will need to select the tool you would like to use from the menu. For example, to type, select the keyboard. Settings displays a list of settings to adjust such as resolution, presentation mode, keyboard and touchpad Touchpad allows scrolling as if you were using a touchpad on your laptop computer Keyboard allows typing as if you were using a standard keyboard Functions displays a keypad with arrow keys and page up and page down buttons to move around the screen. It also displays a home button Disconnect disconnects from the current application you have open Gesture Help displays a number of pictures explaining how you can use touch gestures to control the client. You will see instructions and a tutorial every time you connect if Gesture Help is turned on. You can turn off Gesture Help under Settings Open/Close opens and closes the gesture menu 8
Find an Application Category How to Use Launch on an 1. Tap the menu button 2. Select a category from the drop down menu: e.g. Office 3. Select an application from the category Search You can also search for an application by typing the title into the Search field. The application will appear if you have been granted access. 9
Customize Your Launch Homepage 1. To remove an application from your Launch Homepage, tap on the appropriate icon and hold for 2 seconds (any longer and the app will open) a menu will appear, and select the trashcan icon or click Remove. The application will be moved to the App Center. 2. To add an application back to your Launch Homepage: a) click on the + button to access the App Center b) click Add App 3. You can move application icons around your homepage: a) tap on the appropriate icon, hold for 2 seconds, a menu will appear, select Move to Top or Move to Bottom b) drag the application icons around your homepage, tap and hold the middle of an icon and drag it anywhere on the page 10
Create Your Launch Favorites Page 1. Create a Favorites Page with the applications that you use most frequently. To add a favorite, tap on the appropriate icon and hold for 2 seconds, a menu will appear, select the star icon or Make Favorite. You will need to set Favorites on each device. 2. To access your Favorites page, click Favorites from the Launch Homepage a) Tap the Menu button from the Launch Homepage b) Tap Favorites 11
3. To remove an application you have selected as a favorite, click on the star icon Sign Out of Launch 1. Click the menu icon on the Launch Homepage 2. Tap Settings 3. Tap Sign Out and close your internet browser 12
