1 About this Document These release notes provide information about the PictureTel 210 Terminal Adaptor. It is meant to supplement the information contained in the Users Guide and Installation Notes for version 2.1. The following sections are included: 1. About this Document 2. Packing List 3. Known Issues Note: Please note that all reference to the VIU-323 is synonymous with PictureTel 210 Terminal Adaptor. 2 Packing List Please check that the package you have received contains the following items:!"picturetel 210 unit.!"radvision OnLAN Video Tools CD ROM containing: System Configuration Software, Software Upload Utility, the VIU 323 User Guide and a Data Sheet describing the RADVision video product line.!"release Notes.!"Power Cable!"Two V.35/RS-366 Y-cables.!"Terminal/Modem cable.!"mounting kit for 19" rack installation. 3 Version 2.1 Features After you unpack and install your PictureTel 210 Terminal Adaptor you will discover the many new and exciting features in 2.1, including:!"the 210 TA is now fully H.323 version 2.0 compliant.!"the following bit rates are supported (restricted bit rates are now included): 2x56 Kbps, 2x64 Kbps, 112 Kbps, 128 Kbps, 224 Kbps, 256 Kbps, 336 Kbps, 384 Kbps, 672 Kbps, and 768 Kbps.
Note: The Concorde must have a rev 3 vcp card in the system to handle 768Kb conferences. To determine if the current card will work at 768Kb, reboot the system and watch the start-up tests. If the vcp is shown in all caps (VCP) then it is an older card and must be replaced. A good card will be shown with a lower case v (vcp).!"support for G.722 audio coding in the following bit rates: 336 Kbps, 384 Kbps, 672 Kbps, and 768 Kbps.!"The Configuration, Remote diagnostics, Telnet, FTP and Upload utilities are now protected by utilizing the same (configurable) user name and password.!"dialing profiles for the 210 TA have been changed: a list of predefined bandwidth profiles is preset for setting the bandwidth of incoming and outgoing calls, as shown below (see Chapter 6 of the VIU-323 User Guide for further information). The use of a dialing prefix to indicate the required bandwidth profile eases the operation of the 210 TA in that mode. (For the configurable port default bandwidth, a prefix is not needed.) !"LiveLans will freeze if you try to connect with a 210 TA.!"When using NetConference, it is best to set up the conference at 384Kb, QCIF, 15 FPS. If you set the 210 TA to 768Kb, you wont get video.!"when connecting to an Accord MCU, you must choose Audio algorithms G.711 or G.728.!"To enable interzone calls to a 210 TA registered to a Cisco MCM Gatekeeper, the 210 TA has to be registered with the MCM with its zone prefix followed by the dial in number (instead of using the number only). For example, if the zone prefix is 2 and the 210 TA phone number is 789, the 210 TA should be reconfigured at the MCM to have a phone number 2789.!"When performing configuration using a terminal, default values are not entered automatically by pressing ENTER.
