1. Initial Setup 1. Plug in Ethernet cable to the device s LAN Port and same Ethernet switch as the streaming device (IP Camera, NVR or DVR). 2. Plug in USB Storage (USB thumb Drive / USB Hard drive) or you can save the images to a network share folder. Make sure the USB Storage is formatted as NTFS. 3. Plug in the 12VDC power adaptor. 4. The Blue indicate LED should lit up 12VDC 2A

2. Web client, Default IP 1. The Default IP address is 192.168.1.18 2. Change your computer s IP to the same subnet as the device to access web client. 3. Use your web browser and connect to http://192.168.1.18 4. If you see this web page then move on to next step. If not, make sure the Ethernet cable is plug in properly, the unit is power on and your computer s IP address is in the same subnet as the device, e.g. 192.168.1.xxx

3.1 System Settings Username password IP address Assignment 1. Click on System settings tab 2. Enter Username: admin; password: admin when prompted 2nd username: user; password: user 3. Before you Activate the device, change Admin's default password 4. Next setup is to change the device s Default IP. Assign the device with an IP address that is same as your streaming device. e.g. if your DVR is 192.168.0.80, you must have the device on the same subnet 192.168.0.xxx Do not use DHCP unless you know how to lookup assigned IP address from your DHCP Server. If you are not sure, talk to your network administrator before making any changes. Assigning an incorrect IP address will stop you from accessing the device. 3.2 System Settings Device activation 1. Access your device with the new assigned IP, Admin s password. 2. Click on System settings tab. Internet access is required on your computer to request activation key. 3. Click Click here for activation code will bring you to our activation server. 1. Your device s MAC address is already filled. 2. Choose and input a name for your device. 3. The physical location where the device is installed. This is important for Amber, Silver and Blue Alert feature. 4. At least one contact email and phone # is required for identification of ownership, firmware updates, technical support, and alerts. For privacy and security reason, we only provide support and cloud access to the person who has access to these registered email and phone #. 2 1 After you submitted the information, copy and paste the Activation code in System Settings and Apply. 3

3.3 System Settings Storage Configuration There are two ways for ALPR Catcher to store captured images: 1. Plug in an USB Hard Drive / USB thumb drive into one of the ALPR Catcher s USB ports You must format USB Hard drive or USB thumb drive as NTFS with a computer. 2. Save to a network share folder or Network attached Storage (NAS)* Check the Save to Samba Server box, enter the Samba Server Address, username and password * When Save to Samba Server is Checked, all images will save to the network drive even if an USB drive is attached. Auto disk Cleanup Auto Disk Cleanup is ON by default, ALPR Catcher erases the oldest file by day when your storage space is below the Reserved Disk Space (GB). You must have a storage large enough for more than 2 days for ALPR Catcher to save images properly. e.g. if your total storage space is only 10GB but your images stored is over 10GB for the first day, the ALPR Catcher won t save image.

3.4 System Settings Timezone Configuration Date and Time on ALPR Catcher is set by Internet Time Server. Select the correct time zone for your location.

1. Click on ALPR Settings tab 4.1 ALPR Settings RTSP URL 2. Main RTSP URL: Input RTSP stream URL of your DVR, NVR which license plate camera is connected. Do NOT put HTTP in this field. You must use RTSP URL from your DVR, NVR or IP Camera. Different manufacturers have different URL format. 3. Overview RTSP URL: Input RTSP stream URL of your color overview camera. This field is optional to have an Overview camera. You must have Main RTSP in order to trigger capture of the Overview. 4. Camera name: Input name for this set of cameras. 5. e.g. Dahua Security DVR,NVR, IP Camera: rtsp://admin:admin@x.x.x.x/cam/realmonitor?channel=1&subtype=0 admin:admin is the username and password of the DVR x.x.x.x is the ip address of the DVR, NVR or IP Camera channel=1, 1 means the channel # of the license plate camera. If your camera is on Channel # 2 then change it from 1 to 2 subtype = 0, that s the default for Mainstream which is the high-quality stream from the DVR. Do not use 1 which is the low-quality sub-stream. 6. e.g. Hikvision rtsp://admin:password@x.x.x.x/h264/ch1/main/av_stream admin:password is the username and password of the DVR x.x.x.x is the ip address of the DVR, NVR or IP Camera ch1, 1 means the channel # of the license plate camera. If your camera is on Channel # 2 then change it from 1 to 2. 7. ALPR Catcher Capture Box supports all devices with RTSP Streaming. 8. Contact your DVR, NVR, IP Camera provider and ask for RTSP URL. After you entered the URL information, go to bottom of the page to apply changes and the ALPR service will restart with the new settings.

4.2 ALPR Settings RTSP URL Verification of settings. After the ALPR Service is restarted, You should able to see an image posted on the top of the ALPR settings page if the network connection is successful, RTSP URL is correct. This is just a still image captured at the time of the page is loaded for verification. It won t necessary show a vehicle. You can click refresh again for another image. If the image on this page or the status page is pixilated or not clear. Check your network connection, DVR setting and camera setting. ALPR Catcher can not provide good results from a bad image source. If you don t see an image, verify all the URL settings and connection and apply changes again Again, if you have any question Call us (832) 832 327 8880 M~F 9am to 5pm Central Time

4.3 ALPR Settings Motion Detection and ALPR Detection Area 1. Both Motion Detection and Save Motion image are off by Default. 2. ALPR Service captures, OCR and Save images only when a license plate is detected and readable. 3. Enable Motion Detection and Save Motion image will save image even when ALPR service does not detected/capture any license plate from the image. 4. This is useful feature only if you want to save all images that are triggered by any Motion including Human walking, Vehicle without plate etc. * You do NOT need Motion Detection for ALPR Service to work. 5. Enable Motion Detection will reduce ALPR Reading in certain environments, e.g. a vehicle is parked motionless in front of the camera for long period of time. 6. Save motion image will increase the demand for storage significantly. 7. Click Apply Changes if you made any changes. ALPR Configuration and Detection Area By default, ALPR Service is enabled, it detects, captures and OCR 100% of the X and 80% of the Y. No adjustment needed unless you want to improvement the performance by reducing the detection area. Click Apply Changes if you made any changes. 4.4 ALPR Settings Database Configuration Database Configuration is reserved for integrators who need an external SQL support for 3 rd party software integration. it s off by default. An NDA and licensing agreement must be signed before any support is provided.

5. Status You can access the Status page of by entering the IP address of your ALPR Catcher Capture box This page provides a summary of system settings, date and time, MAC address etc. No username / password is required to access this page. If the image on this page is pixilated or not clear. Check your network connection, DVR setting, and camera setting. ALPR Catcher can not provide good results from a bad image source.

6. License Plate Click on License plate tab to see a list of captured license plates. The images and results are sorted by Date and Hour You can review the records by click on the date & hour. Click on thumbnail image will show the original full-size image There are 5 OCR results per image. If you enable Motion Detection + Save Motion Image, you will also see a list of images without OCR

6. Standalone Operation vs Mission ALPR Cloud Service 1. ALPR-SOLO Standalone operation No Internet needed, no monthly fee. License plates are captured, processed, OCR and stored in ALPR-SOLO s internal storage. Customer review & retrieve information from ALPR-SOLO s internal storage. 2. ALPR-SOLO Mission ALPR Cloud operation 1. Each ALPR-SOLO must have internet access & subscript to Mission ALPR Cloud service*. 2. License plates are captured, processed, OCR and stored in ALPR-SOLO s internal storage, OCR results are pushed to Mission ALPR Cloud storage. 3. Mission ALPR Cloud pushes Amber, Silver, Blue to each device, customers get instant plate match alert & notifications. 4. Customers can create a Black and White list for Gate Control and blacklist notifications. 5. Customers use MissionALPR CMS software to search, review & retrieve information from all their devices from anywhere via the internet. 6. Mission ALPR Cloud Service health checks subscripted devices and sends notification in case of hardware and /or connectivity failure. 7. Mission ALPR monthly fee also provide extended equipment warranty on subscripted devices. * For customers who like to host their own private cloud, MissionALPR server is available for purchase.
