1. NavNet TZtouch2 1-1 Model TZTL12F and TZTL15F NavNet TZtouch2, as the second generation of NavNet TZtouch series, has two (2) models: TZTL12F (12.1 -wide) and TZTL15F (15.6 -wide). This document describes the overview of these new models. Model: TZTL12F Model: TZTL15F 1-2 Total Control, Simply Refined Total Control, Simply Refined represents all about NavNet TZtouch2 series. Streamlined GUI (Graphic User Interface) Compared with NavNet TZtouch series TZT9/14, the TZTL12F/15F consists of a keyless display with a larger screen area and minimized bezel space. By utilizing the basic GUI (graphic user interface) of TZT9/14, the TZTL12F/15F is fully refined for multi touch control over the screen. Built-in GPS and Fish Finder The TZTL12F/15F is equipped with built-in GPS and Fish Finder modules. It will refine system configurations especially for a compact package solution of Plotter/Sounder. 3

RezBoost (Future Update) RezBoost is a revolutionary new technology to produce high-definition Fish Finder echo resolution and separation. By utilizing conventional transducers, echo images will be clearer thanks to advanced post processing. This feature will be described in more detail on a sales bulletin to be issued soon. 1-3 Logo Design Standard In Dark Background The TZtouch logo is made with a modern and smooth feeling that collaborates with the conventional NavNet logo. The TZtouch portion appears in a smaller shape in order not to overpower the NavNet logo or brand. The number 2 represents the second generation of NavNet TZtouch series. Note: In a text format, describe the series name as follows. Text Descriptions NavNet must have capital N s without a space between each character. NavNet TZtouch2 (space) one space must be between NavNet and TZtouch. TZtouch2 must have upper case TZ, lower case touch, and numerical 2 without space between each character. 4

2. Product Overview 2-1 Outlook The TZTL12F/15F offers a large screen for a bezel size thanks to a minimized hardware key component. The rear side is slimmer than the previous series. 3. Operating NavNet TZtouch2 The TZTL12/15F can be operated in a similar user interface as the TZT9/14/BB but has refined operational features. While detailed functions and operation will be described on a separate sales bulletin, this document describes an overview of key operational features. 3-1 Control All by Multi Touch The TZTL12F/15F can be controlled all by multi touch operation. In addition to smooth pinch-to-zoom, a slider bar, which was available with the TZTBB and External Touch Screen Mode of TZT14, is always available on the screen for range adjustments. Gesture function by dual-tap is also available. 3-2 Edge-Swipe for Display Adjustment The concept of RotoKey and contextual menus is refined. By swiping the screen from the bottom edge up, the Layer window is available for easier display setting. The sample screenshot at left is from the Plotter page. On the Layer window, settings such as overlay and target on/off are accessible. 3-3 Edge-Swipe for Quick Page Access When you have dedicated screens frequently used, this is the best solution. By swiping the screen from the top edge down, the Quick Page appears to quickly guide you to a required page without going back to the Home page. 3-4 Flexible Data Organizer Customizable Instrument Page The TZTL12F/15F is also a flexible data organizer. You can customize the content of data indication and screen layout. In one Instrument page, you can switch from one page to another by swiping the screen upwards or downwards. You can create your own data page depending on boat types and available sensors. 11

3-5 More Information by eguide Operation guide is available on the TZTL12F/15F screen to help you solve your questions on basic features and operation. 4. Utilizing Wireless Solution The TZTL12F/15F with built-in wireless LAN offers multiple solutions. 4-1 NavNet Viewer and NavNet Controller Apps The TZTL12F/15F supports the NavNet Viewer and NavNet Controller apps. While the NavNet Remote app is NOT supported, utilize the keypad of NavNet Controller app for wirelessly remote operation. Comparison Table App NavNet Remote NavNet Viewer NavNet Controller Model TZTL12F/15F Not compatible TZT9/14/BB Note: (1) A maximum of five (5) devices can be networked with one (1) TZT12F/15F wireless LAN. (2) Connection via an external Ethernet router is NOT available unless the router is set to a Class-B IP address of 172.31.xxx.xxx. However, a generic router is usually compatible with Class-C IP addresses of 192.xxx.xxx.xxx. We recommend that ios and Android devices should always be accessed directly to the built-in wireless LAN. 12

4-2 Internet Weather and Software Download The TZTL12F/15F, connected to the Internet, has access to a weather download service like the TZT9/14/BB. Weather forecast up to 16 days is available from NavCenter and can be displayed on the dedicated Weather page of the TZTL12F/15F. Download procedures are exactly the same as the TZT9/14/BB: Connect the TZTL12F/15F to the Internet and download the data set in the Weather Menu. 4-3 Internet POI and Point/Route Sharing (Future Update) POI stands for Point of Interest. The POI solution has been utilized on a land application such as Google Map, which shows information on shops and restaurants. While there are multiple sources of POI for marine applications, the TZTL12F/15F will be compatible with ActiveCaptain. This service is mainly available in the US. A point/route sharing service is also planned in the future for TimeZero product users, which will allow users to share their point and route information with each other. When this service is ready, an overview will be announced with a sales bulletin. 4-4 Internet Other Planned Features in the Future A Community Chart service is also planned in the future, which will allow users to upload a request for chart modification and receive a modification patch later on. When this service is ready, an overview will be announced with a sales bulletin. 4-5 Note on Wireless LAN The built-in wireless LAN of TZTL12F/15F is approved for use in the US (FCC), Canada (IC), Europe (CE), Australia/New Zealand, and Japan only. For other areas, do NOT turn on the wireless LAN. 13

Camera Analog cameras only Not compatible with IP cameras 6-2 Compact Package Plotter/Fish Finder TZTL12F/15F MFD8/12/BB and TZT9/14/BB The TZTL12F/15F achieves a simple configuration thanks to the built-in GPS and Fish Finder modules. You do not need to conenct an external GPS or network sounder such as DFF1 or BBDS1. However, when the GPS reception in the bridge is not good, use an external GPS device networked via NMEA2000. 6-3 Utilizing NMEA0183 Output NMEA0183 Output NMEA0183 Input/Output via IF-NMEA2K2 As an example, the NMEA0183 output can be utilized to output own ship position measured with the built-in GPS to an NMEA0183-compatible VHF. However, when an NMEA0183 input such as DSC is necessary, the IF-NMEA2K2 is necessary to convert it from NMEA0183 to NMEA2000. 20

6-4 Utilizing Model SDU-001 and MCU-002 via USB The microsd reader SDU-001 and remote controller MCU-002 can be connected via USB. Notes: (1) When both SDU-001 and MCU-002 are used, arranged a USB hub locally. or (2) Use one (1) SDU-001 and MCU-002 per display. 6-5 Utilizing an External Monitor TZTL12F/15F with External Monitor (and MCU-002) NO Touch Operation with External Monitor The TZTL12F/15F can output a clone image to an external monitor in HDMI format. If a monitor is not equipped with an HDMI port, use an HDIM/DVI adapter. Note that touch operation on an external touch monitor is NOT available even if a USB cable is connected. For operation with an external monitor, use the remote controller MCU-002 or a USB mouse as shown in the example above. 6-6 Connecting Analog Camera The TZTL12F/15F has two (2) analog camera input ports. Camara images can be shown on full or quarter (1/4) screen modes as shown in the following examples. Full Quarter (1/4) Top Quarter (1/4) Bottom 21

Note: Among two (2) analog camera inputs, the TZTL12F/15F can assign one camera screen per display. Two (2) camera images cannot be simultaneously shown on both quarter (1/4) screens as shown at right. To see each camera image, manually switch sources between each source on one camera screen as shown at left. 6-7 Heaving Compensation Heaving compensation is NOT available with the built-in Fish Finder. Good (with Network Sounder) NOT Good Use a network sounder to enjoy the heaving compensation in combination with a satellite compass such as SC-30. 6-8 Retrofit from NavNet vx2 Retrofit to TZTL12F/15F Original GD-1920C (NavNet vx2) In this example, the GD-1920C units are replaced with TZTL12F/15F. (1) Radar antenna is changed to DRS series. Except for the DRS4DL, the PSU-017/012/013 is also necessary. (2) NMEA network is changed to NMEA2000. NMEA0183 sensors should be input to the TZTL12F/15F via a converter or be replaced with NMEA2000 sensors. 22

6-9 Retrofit from NavNet 3D Retrofit to TZTL12F/15F Original MFD8/12 (NavNet 3D) In this example, the MFD8/12 units are replaced with TZTL12F/15F. While the TZTL12F/15F can use the same Ethernet sensors as the MFD8/12/BB, the following changes are necessary to cope with more redundant Ethernet and NMEA2000 network architecure. (1) PSU-017/012/013 is added for DRS2D/4D/4A/6A/12A/25A (except for DRS4DL). Another Ethernet cable is necessary between the PSU and hub. (2) All the TZTL12F/15F units have an NMEA2000 drop cable conneced to the NMEA2000 backbone. (3) NMEA0183 sensors are input to the TZTL12F/15F via a converter or are replaced with NMEA2000 sensors. (4) The TZTL12F/15F is NOT compatible with Axis IP cameras. Use analog cameras. 6-10 Important Notes Retrofit from NavNet TZtouch Fully Retrofit to TZTL12F/15F Original TZT9/14 (NavNet TZtouch) IMPORTANT NOTES Full replacement of displays from TZT9/14 (NavNet TZtouch) to TZTL12F/15F (NavNet TZtouch2) should be carefully proceeded considering the following limitations of sensor network and some functions. (1) The TZTL12F/15F is NOT compatible with FAR-2xx7/FCV-1150 and Axis IP cameras for Ethernet connection. Analog cameras should be used but refer to Section 6-6 for limitations. (2) Radar echo trail/average/stretch functions are currently limited on the TZTL12F/15F. 23

6-11 Integrated Network with NavNet TZtouch The Ethernet and NMEA2000 network architecture of TZTL12F/15F is same as TZT9/14/BB. You just need to network both displays via Ethernet and NMEA2000. Notes: (1) With the future update of TZT9/14/BB, points and routes will be shared automatically on the network. In the meantime, manually export and import them. (2) Settings of TZTL12F/15F and TZT9/14/BB should be made individually. (3) A maximum of four (4) displays can be networked in the intergrated network with NavNet TZtouch. 6-12 No Network with NavNet 3D Do NOT mix the TZTL12F/15F with MFD8/12/BB on the same network. Data sources may not be detected properly. 6-13 NavNet TZtouch2 Larger Package Referring to the descriptions on the previous sections, this example shows a larger package. 24
