Welcome to ShieldApps This guide is devised to lead you through the installa on process and general usage of the so ware. enhances your digital privacy, so your private informa on has less a chance of being abused, by removing your personal informa on from your PC. Compa bility supports Windows versions: Installa on and First Scan To obtain your copy of, please follow the steps below: Go to ShieldApps.com Under the Products menu, choose Click the Download Now bu on and save the product on your computer 3

Installa on and First Scan To ini ate the installa on process, double-click the downloaded file icon. s installa on process will start promptly. Please note: before you confirm the installa on process, we urge you to read product s terms and condi ons ( End User License Agreement ) by clicking on the relevant link, as shown below. 4

Installa on and First Scan As soon as the installa on process has finished, the so ware will launch and start an ini al scan. At the same me, an installa on confirma on page will open to confirm successful installa on. 5

Registra on Registering the so ware and upgrading it to a premium version: If you have already registered your copy: Enter your full name Enter the email address you have used to register your Copy and paste* your key in to the ac va on box Click Ac vate To register your so ware copy and upgrade to a fully featured premium version: Click the Register bu on Follow the registra on process prompts Upon successful registra on, a license key will be delivered to your email address Enter your full name Enter the email address you have used to register your Copy and paste it to the ac va on box Click Ac vate *Hover over the license key with holding le -click to highlight it. Click right-click and select Copy. Go back to the registra on box, right-click, choose Paste from the menu. 7

Status Screen The main part of the interface, with each feature clearly displayed. Also, some quick se ngs for each of the features are on this page. By checking and unchecking the boxes below the features, scan areas are chosen. 8

Ac ve Cleaning The switch in the bo om-right corner of the so ware turns the Ac ve Cleaning feature On and Off. When ac ve, all further ac ons will be cleaned automa cally once the browser has been closed. You can turn them on and off (see detailed informa on at page 10) User Password Displays all of the logged username and password creden als Profile Displays all of the personal profiles, addresses, credit card accounts and more personal informa on available on your computer Browser History A complete history from all of the browsers you are using IM History - A complete history of chats from the messengers that you are using Sandbox Feature that allows you to hide your online tracks from other people using your PC 9

Scan and Clean Scan progress repor ng will be shown as the scan takes place, and will be fully available upon scan finish. Threats can be all cleaned at once or one by one. *If a specific category is clicked, the so ware switches the bar automa cally. The features that can only be found inside the Scan/Clean tab are Cookies and Local Trace Files. Like any other feature, these two can also be viewed, controlled, and removed. 10

User Password Logged username and password combina ons that are visible and vulnerable on your computer will be detected upon scan and listed in this window. Their removal dras cally reduces the chances of misuse of personal informa on. 11

Profile Profile bar will display every personal profile logged on the computer. The icons below each profile represent available details that were found per profile. Click the profile tab for more details. Details such as address, city, state, country, zip code, phone number, email, and credit card number, logged on the PC, are displayed on this page. Click on any of them to select which will permanently be removed. 12

Browser History The browser history feature lists all logged browsing history on your computer. From this window you can now selec vely delete specific logs or replace them with alterna ve/dummy informa on instead. Replacement feature misleads other people using your PC to access specific content from your browsing history. 13

To replace some web page you ll need to: Copy and paste* the link of the page you wish to replace inside of the URL to replace space Add a random link inside Replace with space bellow Click Replace People will see your link, but if they click on it, the so ware will take them elsewhere If you wish to hide an en re website from other PC users, just paste that site s domain instead of the specific URL. * When you click on any link from your history and press the Open Page bu on, the page will be opened in the browser. Double click the URL using your le -click to select the whole link. Select "Copy" from the right-click menu. Go back to the and paste the link inside of the URL to replace space using right-click menu. 14

IM History Like with every other informa on found by the so ware, chats can also be removed from the computer. Pick the IM service for cleaning, or check Select All Click Clean and remove selected chat history at once 15

Sandbox This feature allows permanent hiding of selected web pages from other people that are using your PC. The so ware will ask you to create a unique password before you enter it. 1 Create a unique password 2 Enter it 16

Sandbox Pick which web page will be hidden by adding its link* to the list. Each page added to the list will be removed from the browser s history reports every me the browser closes. * To add a link to the Sandbox list go to the web page you wish to add and double click the URL using le -click to select the en re link. From the right-click menu select Copy. Go back to the Sandbox, paste the link in the empty space on top of the window, and click Add URL. The password can be changed whenever you're in the feature. 17

Prompt Windows will always inform you about the issues on the PC through prompt windows. They will appear in the bo om-right corner of the screen. Real Time Alert will no fy every me a new creden al is saved in any browser. The details about new saved informa on will be shown in the prompt window. To disable the prompt window for some website, check the box below the Remove bu on a er the warning is displayed. 18

Prompt Windows Daily Threat Report A daily reminder of the PC s current state that reminds you to clean possible threats if you have not already done so. The prompt s display me can be set within the so ware. 19

Prompt Windows Cookies This prompt window will display cookies that can be abused and risk your privacy. Details like host website, name and value of the cookie, will be displayed in the prompt window. You can stop the prompt window from showing, or set automated cleaning from within the prompt window. 20

Se ngs Default se ngs are created to protect your privacy fully, but if you like to tweak them and use some advanced op ons you can do that in the se ngs menu. General This tab gives the op on to modify the more common se ngs. Turn certain features on and off, setup prompt alerts and choose one of 15 different languages. Each op on is turned on or off with a single click. 21

Se ngs 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 Run at system startup enables the so ware to start with the system. Minimize to tray a er cleaning closes the so ware s window automa cally once the cleaning is complete. Check for the update automa cally will keep the so ware version up-to-date. Start searching automa cally a er the start will start combing for privacy issues right a er the system is up and running. Show popup on adding a password in browser enables a popup window each me a new creden al is added to the browser. Show cookie warning every (hours) provides informa on about the cookies allowed inside the browser. Warning ming can be defined, while the popup mer can be changed whenever. Automa cally clean all new cookies enables the so ware to do a cookie removal on its own. Play sounds turn on sounds for no fica ons like new threats, popup windows, scan start/end, cleaning comple on. 22

Se ngs Scan Areas checking the boxes in this tab will define which files, apps, and pages will be scanned for cleaning. Log Details The so ware keeps track of every ac on and saves it in its history. If Clean bu on is clicked, the whole log is removed. 23

Se ngs Schedule To setup an automated scanning and cleaning of the system, use this op on. The exact me of the ac on can be defined and performed hourly, daily or monthly. There s no limita on when it comes to number of scheduled scans/cleans. Scheduled ac on can also be password protected, and authorized only by the owner. Update With a single click of the Update bu on, the so ware will look for a new version and updates. A dialog box will pop and display whether or not an update is needed. 24

Uninstall To remove the so ware from the PC: 1 2 3 4 Go to Windows Control Panel Locate Programs Uninstall a Program Locate Click Uninstall 1 4 2 3 Once the uninstall is complete a confirma on page will open. 25
