CSV SIMULATION AND TEST UPLOAD VERIFICATION Changes to Upload Spreadsheet Formats for CSV Files New New New All header information is located at the top left Data-check button has been merged across the full page Laboratories enter data into NFRC Upload Form in Excel (xlsm), and save the file as CSV file type (CSV (Comma delimited) (*.csv))
CSV SIMULATION AND TEST UPLOAD SPREADSHEETS Laboratories enter data into NFRC Upload Form in Excel (xlsm), and save the file as CSV file type. Labs to forward csv version, NFRC 701 will be updated. Preview CSV files
CSV SIMULATION AND TEST UPLOAD VERIFICATION Verification of NFRC upload requirements and codes in CSV spreadsheets are done by: In Excel: Verified when simulator or test user selects Data Check in upload. In CPD: Simulation: Automatic verification integrated during report upload process for simulator, as Lab Report Verification Service (LRVS). Test: No additional verification in the CPD is preformed for the test user.
CSV SIMULATION AND TEST UPLOAD VERIFICATION Changes to Excel Data Macro Check for CSV Files Update No longer removes blank rows or reinserts blank rows Update Validation Option requires report type to be New or Recertification New Emissivity surface must match the number of panes entered Update SHGC/VT-cog ranges corrected (0 X 1) New Entry Doors: Pane information (ids/thickness) not required if Entry Door codes are included for opaque slab Spacer information required to be N if Entry Door codes are entered for opaque slab with no pane information (ids/thickness) Update U-factor cannot be numeric Update CR ranges corrected (0 X) New Report type shall be spelt correctly and not blank Update Rating Procedure updated to only allow 2010 or 2014 Update Report Date shall be a valid date sequence (MM/DD/YYYY or MM/DD/YY) If YY/MM/DD is entered, Macro automatically converts to MM/DD/YY New Commas are converted to a pipe symbol ( ) **A full list of DataMacro checks will be provided in the Simulation user manual.**
CSV SIMULATION AND TEST UPLOAD SPREADSHEETS New Requirements Groupings will not be separated with commas. The macro-check will automatically convert all commas to a pipe symbol ( ). The pipe symbol will be the permanent replacement. If commas are not removed, CSV will fail upload during LRVS and not be able to be submitted to the IA. Error TXT File Text: Error during data check. 17was the last row being tested Input string was not in a correct format. at System.Number.ParseDouble(String value, NumberStyles options, NumberFormatInfo numfmt) at System.Double.Parse(String s, IFormatProvider provider) at LabReport_Business
CSV SIMULATION AND TEST UPLOAD SPREADSHEETS Remains the Same All codes from NFRC Database Codes Directory shall be entered in the same manner. Symbols previously accepted are still able to be entered: i.e.: forward slash / for gas fill; commas, for grouping (see New Requirements for comma exception).
CSV SIMULATION AND TEST UPLOAD SPREADSHEETS Benefits The CSV file type allows the CPD to store the data directly in the database, and not be limited to the Excel file capabilities, plus it reduces the storage requirements of NFRC servers. Simulation laboratories will be able to take advantage of the number of rows in Excel (1 million+) and not have to break-up files unless the product line exceeds the row capacity. * Upload file size limits will be provided in the simulation manual.
CSV SIMULATION AND TEST UPLOAD SPREADSHEETS Rating Procedure: 2010 or 2014 A product line can be modified by a simulation revision CSV upload, even if the product line originated from CSV or XLS. Rating Procedure cannot be modified by the IA.
XLS SIMULATION AND TEST UPLOAD SPREADSHEETS Notice of Limitations and Sunset Date
XLS SIMULATION AND TEST UPLOAD SPREADSHEETS Excel 2003 or 2007 Upload Spreadsheet No advancements, changes, or improvements have been made to the XLS uploads, Lab Report Test Tool (LRTT), emails or CPD application notifications, or processes to publish the XLS file type in the CPD. XLS versions of the upload spreadsheet may continue to be submitted until: December 31, 2016. XLS files will remain available for IAs to process until an acceptance sunset date is determined.
XLS AND CSV UPLOAD SPREADSHEETS Cross-File Limits Acceptance into any product line The IA may accept a CSV file upload for any product line, regardless of the product line s originating upload. Product Line Sim and Test submittals must match XLS and CSVs cannot be matched together in the Validation Comparison process.

STATUSES UPLOAD SPREADSHEETS New Test Lab CSV Upload Status Accepted by IA. Pending Product Line Generation o Lab Report has been accepted, and is waiting to be published by the IA. If test validation is required, this has been accepted as well.» When used as part of Validation Comparison which was accepted and published, Test uploads will receive an accepted status of Accepted by IA. Pending Product Line Generation. This will remove the report from the default Lab Reports page filter (Unverified).
USER BEWARE For Test CSV files: The manufacturer name will not be flagged if: typed incorrect in the upload, or a different manufacturer is selected then is typed in the upload. The upload will be submitted to the manufacturer selected in the Lab Reports submittal page.
USER BEWARE For Test CSV files: (continued ) Special Cases Test Only products will continue to be submitted via a simulation upload spreadsheet as a nonvalidation option for Not Applicable.
USER BEWARE For Simulation CSV files: Naming Files differently is optimal When upload fails, an error log contains issues in *.txt downloadable file. No data will be uploaded or able to be viewed in the CPD. When simulations are verified through the LRVS, only 25 errors will be identified. The LRVS will halt checking and provide the error log.
USER BEWARE For Simulation CSV files: (continued ) Special Cases When uploading one of the following grouped product lines, do not select an IA in the one-step submittal process: o Multi-Purpose Products o Same Product Type o Not Applicable (Sim Only) The user will select non-validation reason in the report details, then submit to the IA.
