Printing Yur Results Yu can set the defaults fr Standard Field Frmat and Citatin Frmat n the Preferences Screen. The selectins that are set n Preferences will be applied when printing. E-mailing Yur Results Yu can set the defaults fr Standard Field Frmat, Citatin Frmat, E-mail Frmat, and the default E-mail T address n the Preferences Screen. The selectins that are set n Preferences will be applied when e-mailing. T e-mail an article: 1. Frm the article, click the E-mail icn. The E-mailing panel is displayed abve the article. 2. Enter the E-mail Address. T send t mre than ne e-mail address, use a semicln between each e-mail address. (Fr example, name1@address.cm; name2@address2.cm). 3. T send the e-mail, click Send; therwise, click Cancel. A message appears when yur e-mail has been sent. Advanced Features: Subject - enter a subject t appear n the e-mail subject line. (Fr example, Results f research n tpic ABC.) (40 character maximum.) Cmments - enter any cmments yu wuld like t include with yur e-mail. The search query is nw saved in the flder as a persistent link t a search. 3. Frm the Persistent Links t Searches area f the flder, click the E-mail icn. The Links t Searches area f the E-mail Manager displays. 4. Enter the E-mail Address. T send t mre than ne e-mail address, use a semicln between each e-mail address. T cpy a persistent link t a search: 1. Click the Alert/Save/Share link t the left f yur Result List. 2. Highlight the link text in the Permalink bx and cpy using yur brwser's cpy functin. Yu can immediately paste the link int a web site, dcument r e-mail. T save persistent links t searches t the flder: 1. Click the Alert/Save/Share link t the left f yur Result List. 2. Click the hyperlinked terms t the right f Add search t flder. The search query is nw saved in the flder as a persistent link t a search. 3. Frm the persistent links t searches area f the flder, click the Save icn. The Links t Searches area f the Save Manager displays. 4. If yu are in the flder, Remve these items frm flder after saving appears. Indicate whether yu want t empty the flder f all items after saving. 5. Click Save; therwise, click Back. 6. Frm yur brwser menu, click File>Save As. Enter the path where the file shuld be saved (fr example, C:\Prject\ResearchInf). Ntetaking The Ntetaking feature assists with yur research by allwing yu t take ntes n articles and save them t yur My EBSCOhst flder fr later viewing. T use the Ntetaking feature in EBSCOhst: 1. Frm the citatin page, HTML Full Text, r PDF Full Text n which yu wuld like t leave a nte, click n the Create Nte icn in the tls menu n the right. 2. Click the +New Nte buttn. 3. 4. Enter the text f yur nte in the field prvided. When finished entering yur nte, click the Save buttn. 5. The Nte is saved t the flder and is displayed in the Ntes panel. Click Sign in t stre ntes t save yur ntes r click the Flder Ntes View link t view yur ntes in the EBSCOhst flder. 6. Frm inside the EBSCOhst flder, yur nte is available by clicking Ntes in the menu n the left side. T save yur nte beynd this sessin, sign in t yur My EBSCOhst flder. 7. Custm Fields fr Print/E-mail/Save Mst users will want t include the Standard Fields fr the database being searched when printing, e-mailing r saving search results. If yu wuld like t select the fields t be included within yur print, e-mail r save utput, yu can make these selectins in the Custmized Field Frmat area f the Print/E-mail/Save Managers. T custmize which fields are included with print/e-mail/save: 1. Frm the Print, E-mail r Save panel, select Custmized Field Frmat. The Select Fields fr Output area displays. 2. Mark the check bxes t the left f the fields yu want t include. The fields shared by all the databases yu are searching appear in the Fields in Cmmn area at the tp f the screen. The individual databases are displayed in alphabetical rder, with a maximum f five databases per page. Yu can use the page numbers r navigatin arrws t view additinal lists f database fields. 3. Click the Print, Send, r Save buttn. Yur selectins will be retained thrughut the sessin fr all print, e-mail, r save activity. If yu want yur selectins retained fr a future sessin, be sure t Sign in t My EBSCOhst. 4. Cntinue printing, e-mailing r saving yur search results. Saving and Cpying Article Citatins While yu are viewing an article detail, yu can see hw the citatin fr that article shuld be frmatted in a variety f ppular citatin frmats. T view citatin frmats fr an article: 1. Run a search n EBSCOhst and view a search result. Frm the article details, click the Cite icn. The Citatin Frmat panel appears abve the article. 2. When yu have decided which citatin frmat yu want fr the article, cpy and paste the citatin directly int the Wrks Cited r References page f a dcument created in a wrd prcessing prgram such as Wrd. 3. Click the X in the upper right crner t clse the Citatin Frmat panel. Nte: Be sure t cnsult yur library resurces fr the exact frmatting and punctuatin guidelines fr the citatin frmat yu are using. Exprting Yur Results Frm the Exprt Manager, yu can save r e-mail citatins in a frmat cmpatible with yur bibligraphic management sftware. Yur library administratr decides whether the Exprt feature is displayed. Yu can set the defaults fr yur preferred Exprt Settings n the Preferences Screen. The selectins that are set n Preferences will be applied when exprting. T save citatins in bibligraphic manager frmat: 1. Frm the pen result r frm the flder, click the Exprt icn. The Exprt Manager panel appears. 1. If yu are in the flder, Remve these items frm flder after saving appears. Indicate whether yu want t empty the flder f all items after saving yur file. 2. Save citatins t a file frmatted fr: select ne f the fllwing: Direct Exprt in RIS Frmat (e.g. CITAVI, EndNte, PrCite, Reference Manager, Zter) - includes thse fields supprted by reference managers that utilize Research Infrmatin Systems (RIS) frmat fr bibligraphic management. (This wuld be useful if yu are at a remte lcatin and have bibligraphic management sftware such as PrCite r EndNte n yur hme r ffice cmputer. Yu culd save yur citatins at a schl r public library and imprt them int yur citatin library at hme.) Generic bibligraphic management sftware - includes all fields available with a citatin. Citatins in BibTeX frmat - includes citatin fields in BibTeX frmat. Citatins in MARC21 frmat - includes citatin fields in MARC21 frmat. Citatins in MARC21 frmat - includes citatin fields in MARC21 frmat. Direct Exprt t RefWrks - exprts citatins directly t RefWrks web-based bibligraphic management sftware. (Yur library must have a subscriptin t RefWrks t use this ptin. Yu must als set yur brwser t accept pp-ups.) Direct Exprt t EndNte Web - includes thse fields supprted by ISI's Direct Exprt technlgy fr exprting t EndNte Web. 3. Click Save. If yu saved yur citatins in a frmat that can be upladed t bibligraphic management sftware, the articles and citatins are displayed in yur brwser windw. Save frm yur brwser windw. Be sure t enter the path where the file shuld be saved (fr example, C:PrjectResearchInf). T save t a flppy disk, enter the path t the flppy drive (fr example, A:ResearchInf). Be sure t save as an HTML r text file. Click Save. If yu saved in Direct Exprt frmat and bibligraphic management sftware (such as PrCite r EndNte ) is installed n yur cmputer, that sftware shuld autmatically pen.
