WINDOWS OneDrive for Business cloud storage via St. John s Email St. John s University email can be accessed through MySJU. Once logged into MySJU, click on the Student Email link, located in the upper right. Without logging in to MySJU, the email can also be accessed externally: www.outlook.com/my.stjohns.edu Username: The full St. John s University issued email address Same as MySJU Login but with @my.stjohns.edu i.e. John.Smith14@my.stjohns.edu Password: 6 digit pin - same as pin in MySJU ** If you are having issues logging into Email, Contact 718-990-5000. ** OneDrive for Business, Fall 2017 Page 1 of 7
Uploading Data via Web Once logged in, click on the menu box in the left corner: Click on the OneDrive app. For the first time that a student is connecting to the OneDrive account, a Setting Up window will appear. Once complete, a link will appear that will refresh the page to the OneDrive account main window. The main page will look like the picture below. In order to save files to the OneDrive account: 1. Simply, click the Upload icon and select the files to be uploaded. 2. Another option would be to highlight all of the files that are to be uploaded. a. Drag and drop them into the main window. b. Once the files are dragged into the screen, the page to should change, informing that the files are ready to be accepted. The page will look like the image below. 3. Afterwards, message will appear on each file, showing that they have successfully uploaded. Downloading OneDrive App for Windows Once logged in to OneDrive, located on the upper right corner of the screen. 1. Next to the Upload link, is a button that says Sync. When the window appears, click on the link that says Get the OneDrive for Business app that s right for me. 2. Determine which version of the app is compatible with your Office version, and click install below. The file will download. If you have a 64-bit version of Office installed, click Advanced, and select 64-bit in the drop down menu. 3. Run the downloaded program. When the program loads, a prompt to sign in to the SJU account will appear. 4. Enter the SJU email in the format of: firstname.lastnameyy@my.stjohns.edu *The YY will stand for the two-digit year from your MySJU login 5. After entering the assigned email address, select Organizational Account. OneDrive for Business, Fall 2017 Page 3 of 7
6. Enter in the associated password for the SJU email address. This password is the same as your MySJU 7. When the program opens, click NEXT: 8. Select a design, and click NEXT. 9. OneDrive for Business will now complete installation. To see a preview, click Take a Look, otherwise just click No Thanks. 10. Minimize the following window, and allow it to continue to install. 11. Click on the START menu, and go to All Programs. Under Microsoft Office 2013, click on the OneDrive for Business icon. 12. A prompt asking for the URL of the library to sync will appear. a. To find the Library URL, go back to the webpage of the OneDrive acct needed to sync. At the top of the page, copy the entire web address listed. Downloading OneDrive App for Mac OS Open up the App Store from the applications folder. 13. Search for OneDrive, and install. 14. Once the installation is complete, sign in with the student SJU email in the format of: firstname.lastnameyy@my.stjohns.edu *The YY will stand for the two-digit year from the student MySJU login 15. After entering the assigned email address, enter the password used to log in to MySJU. 16. When the program opens, click Choose OneDrive Folder Locations, and select a location. The default location is your Home folder. OneDrive for Business, Fall 2017 Page 6 of 7
17. Click NEXT and select which folders, if any, that are already in the OneDrive account to sync, and download to the computer. 18. OneDrive will now complete installation. You can then choose to open the folder that was created on the laptop for OneDrive to Sync to.
