TM Registration Packet WELCOME TO YOUR NEW BUSINESS! CONGRATULATIONS! Making the decision to take the next step to become certified will help establish you as an etiquette expert in the industry and expand your business into the urban community where children, youth and adults are rarely exposed. The demonstrates for others that you have been trained and achieved certain standards in the etiquette consulting industry. The first step in the NAUEP Certification/Affiliation process is to successfully complete the NAUEP Basic Certification and pass the Certification Exam. NAUEP Certification Benefits NAUEP Affiliation The NAUEP Certification allows you to promote yourself as being a NAUEP Certified Affiliate. NAUEP is an industry leading etiquette/protocol association which works to impact the urban community through etiquette. Ongoing Training You will work closely with the NAUEP Training Department through weekly emails, quarterly e-newsletter and quarterly conference calls. Additional etiquette training classes are also offered for Certified Etiquette Instructors who want to expand their etiquette knowledge and business. Updated Training Materials Your yearly affiliation fee allows you to regularly updated materials, workbooks, tip sheets, etiquette articles and much more. You will receive an e-notification when updated materials or fact sheets become available. Comprehensive Certification During the eight hour Certification training (onsite) and (online), potential etiquette instructors will learn proven training techniques to booking and maintaining clients. You will develop your personal etiquette skills, connect with other etiquette instructors and learn tools to grow your etiquette business. Page 2
Get Paid on Nationally Booked Etiquette Classes Your business is an independent business, you are Certified and Affiliated through NAUEP to use their materials and permissions to use their name and online marketing tools; however, NAUEP also provides etiquette classes on the national level. NAUEP Certified Instructors have an opportunity to be booked nationally as jobs become available at a rate of $200.00 per workshop conducted. NAUEP Certification Opportunities Onsite Certification Onsite Certification is an onsite classroom instruction workshop conducted by the national training department of NAUEP. The onsite certification takes place across the nation throughout the year. Regional and local dates are posted monthly for women desiring to receive their certification in person. Online Certification Online Certification gives individuals who are unable to travel an opportunity to become certified online. Online certification includes the Etiquette Instructor s Curriculum, online assessment and lessons and finally an Instructional DVD. The DVD which is part of the online certification packet leads instructors through each Etiquette Workshop and provides step-by-step instruction on running your etiquette business. NAUEP ONSITE CERTIFICATION The NAUEP Onsite Certification is designed to provide an intimate setting for women to be empowered with five basic etiquette/protocol workshops which include: Dining Etiquette Part I Dining Etiquette Part II Image Etiquette Public Speaking Etiquette Greeting and Introductions Through a combination of classroom instruction, activities and demonstration, etiquette instructors are taught to include urban sensitive activities and information to their etiquette presentation. Establishing your etiquette business is the final workshop of the day, and it works to expose etiquette instructors to the tools needed to implement a successful etiquette business. ONSITE CERTIFICATION The NAUEP Onsite Certification is an eight hour onsite training. NAUEP ONLINE CERTIFICATION The NAUEP Online Certification is designed to provide etiquette professionals the same excellent certification experience offered to onsite professionals. Through a combination of work assignments, online assessments and conference calls, online instructors are empowered to establish or expand their etiquette business. HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE? Online Instructors are given a total of two weeks to complete the online certification. Once online assignments are completed, online instructors sit for the Basic Etiquette/Protocol Exam. Once you successfully pass the Basic Exam, you will receive your official Award of Certification. WHEN DO I START? Online Certification classes are held monthly. Once registered, your certification begins with the first conference call. ONLINE CERTIFICATION The NAUEP Online Certification gives individuals who are unable to travel to a host site an opportunity to be certified online. These questions will help individuals seeking to affiliate and be certified through NAUEP. 1. What does the include? NAUEP s Basic Etiquette/Protocol Certification includes five core disciplines of etiquette/protocol instruction taught by the National NAUEP Training Department. How much does the cost? The fee depends on the certification option you choose. Onsite Certification - $395.00 Online Certification - $450.00 Exam Fee - $50.00 3. How much do I have to pay yearly to retain my certification and affiliation? NAUEP Professional Affiliates who have completed the Basic Etiquette/Protocol Certification pay a $300.00 yearly affiliation fee on the date of their anniversary. 4.What does the Certification Exam include? The Basic Etiquette/Protocol Certification includes a 150 question exam. The exam includes multiple choice, true and false and fill in the blank questions. To prepare for the Basic Etiquette/Protocol Certification Exam, download the Exam Study Guide. 5. How do I maintain my Certification? Certified Etiquette Professionals maintain their Certification by paying their yearly affiliation fee and taking at least two extended etiquette classes, such as: Dating, Dancing or Prom Etiquette yearly. 6. After I complete the Exam, how long will it be before I can start using the NAUEP CI name? Immediately following your completing of the Basic Certification and passing the Exam you will receive your official Award of Completion and online access to the NAUP Affiliate Page where you can download the official NAUEP logo. 7. After I am certified, am I advertised on the NAUEP website? Once certified your picture and link will be placed on the website each year you are affiliated. Certified Etiquette Professionals also have an opportunity to advertise through premiere placement on the website, company profiles and in the monthly UrbanPolish E-Newsletter distributed to over 30,000 opt in monthly subscribers. 8. What happens if I don t renew my NAUEP certification? You will no longer be considered certified through NAUEP and will be listed as a non-certified affiliate. You will no longer be able to use the designation NAUEP in any of your marketing materials, on your website, or in any other correspondence. 9. How can I regain my Certification? Register and complete two extended study courses, submit your yearly affiliation fee, and pay a $300.00 reinstatement fee. 10. Income Opportunities NAUEP Certified Instructors run their business as an independent business. NAUEP Certified Instructor s earn income based on what they independently charge their students. There is an opportunity to be paid $200.00 through NAUEP if a class is booked for you at the national level. 11. How are Etiquette Consultants Get Paid? NAUEP Etiquette Instructors are paid on the 15 th and 30 th each month. Once certified, NAUEP Certified Instructors are paid through electronic deposit or check if requested. 12. Registration Cost? The fee is $395.00 (Onsite) and $450.00 (Online). There is an additional $50.00 Exam Fee. 13. Cancellation/Refunds NAUEP offers no refunds on cancellations. 14. Registration Transfer Registrations can be transferred to another training date or from onsite to online for a $50.00 transfer processing fee. You can transfer your registration to another person with two week notice. You have two months to complete your registration once paid or you forfeit your registration fee.
