About This Manual Nevada Designed to introduce the reader to the Nevada website, this manual provides a brief overview; websites are meant to be explored and that detailed exploration is left to the reader. This manual offers an introduction to the site architecture and content and provides leading examples of the kind of information available from the site. The website is both hierarchical and hyperlinked. To provide for easy access to any level of the site we will use a navigational bar and hyperlinks, as can be seen on the Home Page image below. The official internet address is http://www.nsea-elks.org. Home Page By looking at the Home Page this is structured into four main parts: 1. the header, containing the site / screen name and images; Page 4 of 37

2. the body with changing information depending on the focus area selected; 3. the left side of the screen with the navigational buttons provide a quick link to the main sections; 4. the footer contains contact information, site bookmark link, copy right information, last date page changed info and additional links. Examples of this are the Calendar and the Nevada State Seal images. Browser / OS Compatibility The web-based software was created and is extensively tested on a Windows platform with the latest Internet Explorer and Mozilla based-browsers. We cannot guarantee that all the features will work on other operating systems and other browsers, but from what the members tell us most everything works on just about every combination. Firewall Notice: If you are using a firewall on your local PC or network, and your firewall is set NOT to allow use of cookies and/or use of environmental variables, you will have problems using the software. Either disable your firewall software when using NSEA Web Site or create an exception for this website. Consult your firewall documentation for complete details. Navigation The website is designed for easy navigation through the hierarchy. Main sections of the site are defined on the twenty-three buttons on the left side of the homepage (see graphic), as well as many of the screens. Clicking on one of these takes the browser to the main page of that section, all of which have a standard look with a fast way home and easy one-click access to any of the other main sections (button stack on the left margin). Most interior pages, no matter how deep in the hierarchy, have this standard way of jumping back to the homepage or to the main page of any major section. As well as the left side Navigation Bar we have provided a separate Site Map with hyperlinks to all screens except the sub-screens under the Members Only screen. The active links are shown in blue. The entries shown in black are not hyperlinked. The following is the Site Map content: Page 5 of 37
