Quest Secure Copy 7.4 October 2018 These release notes provide information about the Quest Secure Copy 7.4 release. Topics: About this release New features Enhancements Deprecated features Resolved issues System requirements Upgrade and compatibility Product licensing Getting started with Secure Copy 7.4 Additional resources Globalization About this release Quest Secure Copy 7.4 is a powerful, comprehensive migration solution that automates the copying of data between file servers without the use of agents or scripts. Whether you are migrating from one server to another, consolidating file servers or moving to a NAS/SAN solution, you can easily copy files and folders, NTFS permissions, file shares, local users and groups, and compression settings. Secure Copy 7.4 is a minor release, with new features and functionality. See New features and Enhancements. New features New features in Secure Copy 7.4: PowerShell integration: If you already had Windows PowerShell installed on your computer before you installed Secure Copy, the Secure Copy cmdlets were automatically installed and registered with Windows PowerShell. The Secure Copy cmdlets allow you to perform some of the functions of Secure Copy in an automation environment. The cmdlets also can be of great use in any environment where a repetitive process involving Secure Copy is needed. Quest Secure Copy 7.4 1

If selected, all the copied folders are forced to keep their original permissions and to inherit the permissions from the target folder and the parent folder. 20576 NOTE: If selected, the Block inheritance for root folder(s) check box becomes unavailable. Improved the performance of handling very large log files. 21470 On the Synchronization tab, the check boxes Synchronize Last Accessed Date and Created date on target files with source and Synchronize Last Access Date and Modified Date on target folder with source are checked by default. A warning displays if the check boxes are cleared indicating that the dates will reflect the date the copy occurred instead of the actual dates on the files and folder. Removed the limit of the max files number to be tested if the Secure Copy has a valid license.
