1. ABOUT THE APPLICATION 1.1. Introduction Puzzle is a multiplayer game ideal for public spaces, such as museums shopping centres or cafes. The application s ease of use makes it suitable for young and old alike. Puzzle is mainly for fun, but can also be used for educational or advertising purposes. As with traditional jigsaw puzzles, the images to be put together and the number of pieces in a puzzle can be selected. The puzzle pieces are spread around the screen and the player s task is to put them together. Completion time is monitored and the user can save their score and name on the Top 10 list. Using multi-touch technology the user can rotate puzzle pieces, and any number of players can take part. The only limitation is the physical size of the table and the number of touchpoints the device has. Puzzle supports a rewards system, significantly expanding its potential. A reward can be assigned to each graphic, and will be displayed after successful completion of a the puzzle. The reward can be a QR code of any content, or a graphics file. One example reward is to win a link to download the image which was put together, or a discount coupon for use in a subsequent visit to the location. This documentation was created to familiarise users with software requirements and functionality, and to facilitate working with Puzzle. 1.2. System Requirements The device on which Puzzle is to be installed must meet the following minimum requirements: Processor: 1.5 GHz or faster Operating system: (64-bit) Microsoft Windows 7, 8, 8.1, 10 RAM memory: 2 GB Free disk space: 360 MiB Minimum screen resolution: 1280 720 (HD) Graphics card supporting OpenGL 2.0.! It is recommended to install the application on a multi-touch device. www.apps-surface.com 3

1.3. Licensing The application is available in two versions: 30-day demo version (free) Commercial version (paid) The free demo version is available once only per user. In order to access the demo version, in the select registration type window which appears on the first launching of the software click Register now (see 2.2 Starting and exiting the program), and then fill in the registration form correctly. After 30 days, the demo version will expire the user will automatically lose the right to use the demo version. To purchase the commercial version of Puzzle and fully enjoy its functionality, you should: CASE 1: Go to www.apps-surface.com (to the Download page) and click on Purchase license, next to Memo. CASE 2: In the select registration type window which appears on the first launching of the software, click Purchase license (see 2.2 Starting and exiting the program). In both cases the order form will appear, which you should fill in and submit. You will receive a license key via e-mail.! The License Agreement grants the licensee the following rights: Licensee may install and use one copy of the SOFTWARE or earlier version thereof on the same operating system, on a single computer. The demo version expires after 30 days from the date of installation, preventing re-installation of the demo version on the same computer. The licensee may also store or install a copy of the SOFTWARE on a storage device, such as a network server, used exclusively to install or use the SOFTWARE on other computers belonging to the licensee as part of his internal network. However, the licensee must purchase and assign a SOFTWARE license to each computer on which the SOFTWARE is installed or run in its memory. A single user license for the SOFTWARE may not be shared or used concurrently on different computers. www.apps-surface.com 4

4. ADVANCED FUNCTIONS (PERSONALISATION) The application administrator has a wide range of options which are not available to the standard user. Administrator mode can be switched on in two ways. Launching the application using the --CONFIG setting from the command window. If the close application button is disabled (see 4.1 Edit application mode) it is replaced by an administrator login button instead, allowing you to log in as an administrator using a password (the default password is admin ). 4.1. Edit application mode Figure 12. Edit application Tapping this icons switches to edit application mode. Tapping again returns the application to normal mode. Figure 13. Application in edit mode Edit mode only affects the main menu and options. As the figure above shows, in edit mode, the following functions are available: www.apps-surface.com 11

Editing of the language, rotate, and close application buttons. The administrator can decide which of these buttons will be visible to the standard user.! Disabling the off button will result in this button being replaced in normal mode, with the administrator login button in its place Login requires a password to be entered. The default password is admin. When the application s off button is disabled, it is strongly advised to change the default password to another, strong password, particularly if the application will be accessed by the general public. Adding puzzle images. To do this, tap Add images. The administrator can add images from a local source (disk or pendrive) and download images available from the manufacturer s FTP. The application automatically connects to the server and displays the appropriate messages on the screen. Deleting images. In edit mode each image in the top-right corner has a bin icon. Tapping the icon will display a window asking for confirmation to delete that image. Adding rewards to images. In edit mode there is a trophy icon below the aforementioned bin icon. Tapping it opens the edit rewards window. A reward has three properties name, image (optional) and QR code (optional). Leaving the name field blank effectively deletes the reward for that image. The reward name is visible when selecting rewards and on game completion. The assigned image and/or QR code will appear on successful putting together of an image. Access to other advanced options. 4.2. Resetting factory settings Figure 14. Reset factory settings Tapping this icon displays a window asking for confirmation that we wish to reset factory settings. Resetting to factory settings is equivalent to returning to the default pictures, prizes and other initial default settings. The application will restart. The Top scores list will not be deleted. www.apps-surface.com 12

4.3. Logging out Figure 15. Logging out Tapping this icon will log you out of administrator mode. 4.4. Application settings Figure 16.
