End of 2013 Depends if it provides improved ease of use with touch screen and how well that integrates with Zoomtext

I m running both Windows 7 and windows 8. It takes years to be able to trust a new OS especially when you re dependent on a screen magnifying program. It should be noted though that windows 8 magnifying program doesn t work very well. The Ipad is the only tablet that has a truly functioning tablet magnifying feature. You re missing out on a huge opportunity to take control of this market! Think of the endless features that windows 8 will allow you to create. Because Windows 8 allows you to have the combination of touch and a functioning desktop/laptop, you could open a whole new world to the visually impaired community. Additionally, windows 8 allows all the different screen sizes which gives you endless possibilities for new features that could revolutionize how visually impaired individuals live. When my company decides to upgrade Buying new laptop with Windows 8 preinstalld! By the end of 2013

What's your reason(s) for upgrading? Choose as many answers as you would like. I like to stay on top of technology trends I have no choice - they are upgrading machines where I work/go to school I need to buy a new computer and Windows 8 comes on it by default I don't like the current operating system I'm using I want to take advantage of the touch interface I like the way it looks It seems cool! Other (please specify) Be familar to help clients due to the fact that I am avrt My dad is how I have things put on my computer. Need a better running computer, more hd, memory, graphics hardware to support ZT 10 I eventually need to get a PC with a touch interface To check and help visually impaired people Upgraded programmes are usualy better and the others are also using it. better securieeeety I support my elderly aunt with Zoomtext. She has a lot of trouble with icons and navigation. Potentially the new interface with a touch screen could simplify her life. To get a better understanding for my clients So far I am less than enthusiastic with Windows 8. It is a learning curve nightmare. From an enterprise perspective M$ has made it very difficult to deploy and support. I will need to learn Windows 8 in order to teach it to others using adaptive technology. getting tired of XP! I m running both Windows 7 and windows 8. It takes years to be able to trust a new OS especially when you re dependent on a screen magnifying program. Supporting visually impaired individuals When employer decides to upgrade have no choice I am buying a new laptop in December As soon as I can get the VA to order it for me. It's part of my job to develop apps/applications with developer/beta/pre-release versions of OS. I am working whit technology and low vission I wish to combine my Ztxt camera with a trendy portable device I'm an assistive technology trainer and we need Windows 8 in our classroom to ensure that our students are trained on the latest technology. I work as an assistive Technology instructor and will need to know how the OS works so that I may best instruct my clients. Getting behind makes things harder in the long run. At some point in the future Microsoft will stop supposring earilier versions of Windows.

Are you upgrading your current computer or purchasing a new computer with Windows 8 already on it? Why aren't you making the move to Windows 8? Choose as many answers as you would like. I am happy with my current operating system and see no reason to change I don't have the money right now to upgrade my current system or to buy a new Other I'm just not interested It seems very confusing I don't like how it looks 68.2% 44.9% 39.2% 18.8% 17.6% 11.9% Why aren't you making the move to Windows 8? 70.0% 60.0% 50.0% 40.0% 30.0% 20.0% 10.0% 0.0% I am happy with my current operating system and see no reason to change I don't have the money right now to upgrade my current system or to buy a new computer Other I'm just not interested It seems very confusing I don't like how it looks Other (please specify) I'm currently training on 7 and will go to 8 next year. Don't know the difference between 7 and 8 Extremely non-intuitive. Dummying up of America. I am worried about the compatibility of several of my current programs Off topic: Fat lot of good is a Amazon.con prize is to us Canadians they will not ship to Canada as I understand Just upgraded to Windows 7 and am still figuring it out!

The company I work for will not make the change in the foreseeable future. I don't know what Windows 8 really does? Because I don't think ZoomText will be ready for it. It took you a year to get IE9 working, sorta. I have little hope that Win8 will work well anytime soon since Win7 DOESN'T yet. the nature of the work I do can be done more effectively using the more traditional desktop format in Windows. Given the reviews I've read it appears that the "desktop mode" though still available in Windows 8, is rather poorly integrated into the overall package It seems that learning the new system may be difficult for me. I may switch to an Apple based system in the future. company wont upgrade Win 8 security issues. I probably will never use any of the devices that specifically require Windows 8. wait until most of the bugs are dealt with ablut a year MicroSoft has not demonstrated that Windows 8 is either reliable or necessary. How many people have they alienated with the Vista product? Window 7 is stable and somewhat usalble I will stay t\with it. I don't need to upgrade right now if that day comes i am thinking about going to Apple anyway. Besides it cost to much to change over and for now my computer is still working ok. *I bought a new computer with Win 7, it is too confusing. They need to make it mor compatible and eliminate steps. I have trouble with so many Icons, and learning to use Win 7. I recently got a new laptop I cannot afford to upgrade my ZT to run on it (I'm running 9.1 final for the same reason) concerned about compatibility with adaptive technology I just updated all my machines to Windows 7. Also, I like to wait until the Assistive Technology such as ZoomText catches up. Just got over the expense of moving to W7, ZT10, & mew keyboard. I have to use a 32in monitor why should I keep reaching up to the screen taking my hands off the keyboard. Remeber we are vision impaired and not walking around with hand held gadgets! Wilf Tarabet in SW Ontario Trouble/Waiting for new drivers not what is used at work I doń't know thaïs system With limited eyesight, it is very difficult when a program changes even the location of a control. Trying to deal with an entire new system is asking for huge frustrations I don't need. I function by knowing the location of controls I need more than by seeing them. Bought a new ipad, and am having fun with it W7 isn't broken, no reason to "fix" it! I am not familiar with it MY IT people have told me that it will not support the antivirus software we use, along with a variety of other tools that we commonly use. i AM JUST GETTING USED TO windows 7!!!! Too early to adopt. There will be bugs and missing feratures. I beta tested windows 8 and found that it was completely different. It is good for those with a win 8 hone user and touch screens. At this time I have no reason to upgrade. My employer just finished upgrading all systems to Windows 7 erly this year so I don't see us moving to Windows 8 for another 6 months to a year and that would only be for new computers and devices that we purchase. From what I've heard, Windows 8 is as bad as Vista. I LIKE TACTILE KEYBOARDS. ALso I got to be a crash test dummy and too much broke every time I tried to do anything. Let Microsoft work out bugsfor awhile before I give it my time and money Just bought a new computer six months ago with Windows 7 and I'm happy with that. The techies at aisquared are still working on compatibility. There will be many compatibility issues with devices and software that won't get resolved for a while. Once they do, I will make the move. Windows 7 is Awful, if it resembles it, I do not care to use it. If ZT 10 does not support it, that's a better reason to not upgrade. Low Vision products are TOO EXPENSIVE to upgrade on a whim!! I'll let others find the issues first Not sure how compatible it is with Assitive Tech. i need zoom text 10 I'm still learning to use windows 7, ugh Like Vista, Windows Eight is untested, and knowing Microsofts history will be full of problems. In addition to the first 3 choices, I have heard that it is troublesome and not worth the extra hassles. Every other version of windows sucks (ME, Vista, 8...) Company controlled Microsoft usually needs at least a year to work out the bugs. campus wide update school system not quick to upgrade

Nervous abput compatability issues We just upgraded to Windows 7 over the summer! Not supported at work yet. I am worried about accessibility Metro features seem to confer no benefit to desktop users, and cannot be turned off I usually let a new version of Windows be tested by otheres unless I absolutely need it. school board will likely not change quickly and I mostly use an ipad at home I wasn't aware that there is going to be a Windows 8 Just got Windows 7 when will they work on ZT working with 64bt? It usually takes Microsoft a year to get their OS right I do not now if screen readers can support it. Waiting to see how many bugs it has and whether it is compatable with my other programs It doesn't work with zoom-text My tech folks in the company I work for will not yet support it. I am thinking about going to a MAC operating system The system will be buggy
