I m running both Windows 7 and windows 8. It takes years to be able to trust a new OS especially when you re dependent on a screen magnifying program. It should be noted though that windows 8 magnifying program doesn t work very well. The Ipad is the only tablet that has a truly functioning tablet magnifying feature. You re missing out on a huge opportunity to take control of this market! Think of the endless features that windows 8 will allow you to create. Because Windows 8 allows you to have the combination of touch and a functioning desktop/laptop, you could open a whole new world to the visually impaired community. Additionally, windows 8 allows all the different screen sizes which gives you endless possibilities for new features that could revolutionize how visually impaired individuals live. Need a better running computer, more hd, memory, graphics hardware to support ZT 10 I eventually need to get a PC with a touch interface To check and help visually impaired people Upgraded programmes are usualy better and the others are also using it. better securieeeety I support my elderly aunt with Zoomtext. She has a lot of trouble with icons and navigation. Potentially the new interface with a touch screen could simplify her life. To get a better understanding for my clients So far I am less than enthusiastic with Windows 8. It is a learning curve nightmare. From an enterprise perspective M$ has made it very difficult to deploy and support. I will need to learn Windows 8 in order to teach it to others using adaptive technology. getting tired of XP! Supporting visually impaired individuals When employer decides to upgrade have no choice I am buying a new laptop in December As soon as I can get the VA to order it for me. It's part of my job to develop apps/applications with developer/beta/pre-release versions of OS. I am working whit technology and low vission I wish to combine my Ztxt camera with a trendy portable device I'm an assistive technology trainer and we need Windows 8 in our classroom to ensure that our students are trained on the latest technology. I work as an assistive Technology instructor and will need to know how the OS works so that I may best instruct my clients. Getting behind makes things harder in the long run. At some point in the future Microsoft will stop supposring earilier versions of Windows.

The company I work for will not make the change in the foreseeable future. I don't know what Windows 8 really does? Because I don't think ZoomText will be ready for it. It took you a year to get IE9 working, sorta. I have little hope that Win8 will work well anytime soon since Win7 DOESN'T yet. the nature of the work I do can be done more effectively using the more traditional desktop format in Windows. Given the reviews I've read it appears that the "desktop mode" though still available in Windows 8, is rather poorly integrated into the overall package It seems that learning the new system may be difficult for me. Trying to deal with an entire new system is asking for huge frustrations I don't need. I function by knowing the location of controls I need more than by seeing them. Bought a new ipad, and am having fun with it W7 isn't broken, no reason to "fix" it! I am not familiar with it MY IT people have told me that it will not support the antivirus software we use, along with a variety of other tools that we commonly use. i AM JUST GETTING USED TO windows 7!!!! Too early to adopt. There will be bugs and missing feratures. I beta tested windows 8 and found that it was completely different. It is good for those with a win 8 hone user and touch screens. In addition to the first 3 choices, I have heard that it is troublesome and not worth the extra hassles. Every other version of windows sucks (ME, Vista, 8...) Nervous abput compatability issues We just upgraded to Windows 7 over the summer! Not supported at work yet. I am worried about accessibility Metro features seem to confer no benefit to desktop users, and cannot be turned off I usually let a new version of Windows be tested by otheres unless I absolutely need it. school board will likely not change quickly and I mostly use an ipad at home I wasn't aware that there is going to be a Windows 8 Just got Windows 7 when will they work on ZT working with 64bt? It usually takes Microsoft a year to get their OS right I do not now if screen readers can support it. Waiting to see how many bugs it has and whether it is compatable with my other programs It doesn't work with zoom-text My tech folks in the company I work for will not yet support it.
