Frequently Asked Questions 14 Can I print reports on the UPS thermal printers? The thermal printers print package labels only. You must use a Hewlett-Packard LaserJet -compatible inkjet or dot matrix printer to print your reports. What do the indicator lights on the Feed button mean? A red light means the printer is out of paper. An amber light means the printer has detected an error. To reset the printer, press the Feed button, or turn the power off and on again. A green light means the printer is ready to print. Note: If the Feed button indicator light does not turn green or if it turns red even when the labels are loaded, refer to the Troubleshooting chart on the next page. What do I do if I received this printer as a replacement? 1. Disconnect the existing printer cables. 2. Open the box you received and remove the ARS label and letter. 3. Place the equipment to be returned in this box, along with any packing material, and seal the box. 4. Place the ARS return label below the bar code label on the box. 5. Have your UPS driver pick up this box with the regular package pickup schedule, or call 1-800-PICK-UPS (1-800-742-5877) to request a pickup. 6. Connect the new power cable (either D or E on page 2) to the new printer and test using steps 1, 6 and 7 on page 10.
