SAS Metadata Server Cluster Metadata Server Clustering Provides redundancy and high availability of the metadata server. Ensures that the server continues to operate if a server host machine fails. 7
SAS Metadata Server Cluster A cluster is three or more metadata server nodes. Each node typically runs on a separate machine runs its own server process has a complete copy of all metadata has its own server configuration directory, configuration files, journal file, and logs. 8

This change makes strong encryption available in all deployments. In this presentation we will be looking at: Securing your passwords. Using SAS/Secure to secure your data. Demo on how to secure your passwords Demo on how to secure your data 27

Secure your passwords Common issue that more advanced programmers have with SAS is wondering how to store their passwords to keep them safe. 1) Create a Catalog that will store your password by creating a Stored Compiled Macro Catalog. 2) To fully encrypt your password the SECURE option is necessary. The secure option will use an encryption algorithm to encrypt your code so no one including yourself will be able to see the password. 3) Set O/S permissions so that only you have read access to catalog file. 4) Use macro call within your programs. 28

Protecting your data We can secure data by using Advanced Encryption Standard(AES).You must use both of the following options when you want to use AES encryption. ENCRYPTKEY= data set option specifies a key value ENCRYPT= data set option now supports AES encryption.. 29
