HandyTone 701 HandyTone-701 is an adaptor for connecting an analog phone device to our service. To use the device, the customer needs to subscribe to an Internet Service Provider. Customer with no broadband router features needs to provide a separate broadband router. Device Assembly Port INTERNET DC 12V PHONE RESET Description Connects LAN cable s (Ethernet) accessory. Connects special DC adaptor accessory. Connects analog phone device. Use appropriate phone cable accessory to analog phone when connecting. Use when restarting the device. 1. Switch the analog phone device s line type to tone. 2. Connect the phone cable with HandyTone-701 s Phone and analog phone device. 3. Connect Ethernet cable with HandyTone-701 s Internet to a broadband router. 4. Connect AC Adaptor to HandyTone-701 s DC 12VI and plug to an electric socket. Perform the procedure in correct order. Accessing Web GUI 1 Confirm HandyTone 701 device s IP address. 1. After picking-up the handset of the phone device connected to HandyTone-701, dial ***. 2. If setting is not yet performed, E103E, an English voice, will be played from the handset. After dialing #, confirm whether an English voice saying ENTER A MENU OPTION is played. If already set, a voice saying ENTER A MENU OPTION will be played. 3. After ENTER A MENU OPTION is played, dial 02. Device IP address will be dictated per character in English. Example: 1-9-2.1-6-8.1.2 2 Open Web GUI via web browser. 1. Open a web browser and enter the device s IP address obtained from Step 1 on the URL field. Format: [http://ip Address]. Automatic Provisioning Provisioning is a service that we provide to automatically configure your device via HTTPS. Just make sure your device s network and provisioning settings are configured correctly and it will fetch the latest settings every time it is rebooted. Advantages of provisioning include, but are not limited to, (1) Device can be easily configured by simply setting it to be provisioned through our server, and (2) If you own multiple devices, they can be simultaneously provisioned as long as they properly connected to your network. 1 Register the MAC address of your device on the customer portal. Although not necessary, you may also set the provisioning settings for your circle. 2 Set the provisioning configurations on your devices. A device will request for the configuration file every time it is rebooted. Provisioning Server 3 The provisioning server sends the configuration file which is unique for each device. The server identifies a requesting device by its MAC address. SIP Traffic 4 After a successful provisioning, your devices will register to the login server and you can now start to make calls. Provisioning Configuration 1 Obtain Device Mac Address. Grandstream devices are assigned with a unique MAC address in the format of 000BXXXXXXXX where X is any digit from 0 to 9. MAC address will be used to identify the device during the provisioning process. The MAC address can be retrieved in various ways. Via Device Sticker A sticker is attached at the back side of the device containing its MAC address. Via Web 1. Open the device s Web GUI on web browser. 2. Type password and click [Login]. Provisioning Configuration 2 Register Device MAC Address. 1. Access the customer management page via web brower. 2. Click [Grandstream Provisioning] on left menu or hover over [Settings] then click [Grandstream Provisioning]. 3. Search the unique to which the device will be assigned to and enter the MAC address obtained from Step 1 in Grandstream Device MAC Address. Once done, click [Update]. Copyright 2017 cloudippbx.com 7
Provisioning Configuration 3 Create provisioning settings for your circle. Continue with the next steps only if you want to create your own provisioning settings. Otherwise, default provisioning settings will be automatically created upon the first provisioning request from your circle. You can change these settings later if you wish to. 1. Click [Provisioning Settings]. 2. Provisioning Settings page is displayed. Provisioning Server: URL of server to be used on your Grandstream devices is displayed here. Login Port: Choose 5060 or 25060. Packets between the SIP server and device will be sent through the port specified. Call Waiting: Disable or enable call waiting. Firmware Upgrade and Provisioning: Disable or enable automatic updating of firmware of your devices. Timezone: Choose the timezone for your location. * Setting might not be supported in all devices. Provisioning Configuration 4 Device configuration. 1. Open the device s Web GUI on web browser. 2. Type password and click [Login]. Default password: admin 3. Click [ADVANCED SETTINGS] Upgrade via: Select HTTPS. Config Server Path: Enter the URL of Provisioning Server as shown on Step 3. Once done, click [Apply] then click [Reboot] Rebooting of device may take a few minutes and device might reboot more than once during the process. Provisioning Configuration 5 Confirm device registration on customer management page. 1. Go to [Unique List] 2. Search the unique to which the device was assigned. The icon indicates that the settings were loaded successfully; device is registered and can now be used. is shown if the device was not able register due to provisioning or other unexpected error. Confirming Settings via Voice Guidance 1. Pick-up the handset. 2. Dial ***. A voice guidance saying ENTER A MENU OPTION will be played. (Dialing * immediately will play current mode for menu number 01 (DHCP mode or STATIC IP mode). 3. Enter menu number and confirm setting. As needed, dial 9 to toggle options for selected menu. 4. Dial * to switch to next menu. Menu Number 01 English Voice Guidance DHCP MODE ( Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol Mode ) and STATIC IP MODE Operating procedure/contents Warning: Static IP mode is not supported in Agile Phone service. 02 IP ADDRESS 03 SUBNET 04 GATEWAY 05 DNS SERVER INVALID ENTRY Voice guidance for the current HandyTone s IP address will be played. The current subnet mask s IP address will be played in voice guidance. Voice guidance for the current gateway s IP address will be played. Enable Firmware Upgrade (Optional) 1. Open the device s Web GUI on web browser. 2. Type password and click [Login]. Default password: admin 3. Click [ADVANCED SETTINGS] Upgrade via: Select HTTP. Firmware Server Path: Enter firmware.grandstream.com. Automatic Upgrade: Select Yes, check for upgrade every () minutes and input 10080 on field provided. Firmware Upgrade and Provisioning: Select Always Check for New Firmware at Boot Up. Once done, click [Apply] then click [Reboot] Firmware upgrade will take a few minutes. Please do not unplug your device during the operation. If the upgrade fails, reset the device then repeat the upgrade procedure. Backup Device Settings (Optional) Perform these step to manually backup the settings of your device in text or XML format. 1. Open the device s Web GUI on web browser. 2. Type password and click [Login]. Default password: admin 3. Click [ADVANCED SETTINGS] Dowload Device Configuration: Click [Download] button to download backup file in text format. Troubleshooting Please check this troubleshooting procedure before requesting a repair. If the problem doesn t get resolved, please contact us. PROBLEM CAUSE SOLUTION General Failure Plug and Unplug from the power source. (Do this for few times). Wait for at least one minute before plugging the device. No ringer sound Call is interrupted by noise Ethernet cable is disconnected. AC adapter is disconnected. Did you change the volume settings? Did you change the settings on the display? Are there any abnormalities in the network environment? If the problem is not resolved after doing this, please contact our customer support service. Indicate your number and broadband products. Please check the connection of the Ethernet cable. Please check the connection of the AC adapter. Please adjust the volume on the button. Revert the change settings. Disconnect the Ethernet cable (reboot). Please check your network environment. Device cannot register Incorrect settings Confirm that there is no mistake in the after provisioning registered MAC address, provisioning server. etc. Network issue Firewall issue Please check your network environment (UPnP of the router, SIP-NAT, etc.). Add corresponding rule for our provisioning/login server when filtering is performed by your routers and/or firewalls. Device Reset Note that previous configurations will be lost after the initialization process. You need to set all the required settings again to use your device. 1. Open Setting page via web browser and login. 2. Click [Basic Settings] Reset Type: Select Full Reset. Once done, click [Reboot]. The phone device will be restarted and restored to factory settings.
