Introduction Thank you for choosing SDFI -TeleMedicine as your photodocumentation solution. Below you will find some information on our SDFI User Guides, SDFI SoftSecrets and a few words about who we are and what we do. SDFI User Guides and SoftSecrets The intent of this guide and the SoftSecrets inside is to assist with your image management processes. Each of our Intelligent User Guides and our Advanced User Guides have been created with end user friendliness in mind. At the top of each page, you will find a title line reflecting the task you want to accomplish. If you flip through the guide, you will notice how each page shows a screen capture followed by step-by-step instructions and we even tell you if a page was intentionally left blank so that you know you did not miss a step. If at any time we can be of assistance, please do not hesitate to contact our technical support team by calling 310-492-5372 and choosing the option for support. You can also reach us via e- mail at: Support@SDFI.com. A Little Information About Us SDFI-TeleMedicine has been a leader in forensic medical photodocumentation for more than ten years, primarily serving sexual assault programs across the United States. During this time, effective photodocumentation has become a valuable resource for most forensic and medical disciplines expanding far beyond sexual assault purposes. SDFI provides equipment, processes, training and technical support for forensic medical professionals. This is accomplished through a high-resolution camera system, imaging software with forensic tools, high-level encryption for photodocumentation records and telemedicine functions. This process of collecting forensic medical photodocumentation is simple and seamless for the forensic medical professional without advanced photography or technical skills. The resulting high-resolution images, organized as photographic storyboards, accurately represent a person at the time of examination in order to support future medical and legal needs. Left mouse click on the following link in the e-mail: Click here to access the FileShare NOTE: When you left mouse click on the link, your internet browser software will open. If you have any problems, please read the e-mail for further instructions. This guide assumes you are using Internet Explorer as your default browser. Other browsers will look different; however, the process is essentially the same. Page 1 of 21

Receiving and Downloading SDFI-TeleMedicine Files Left mouse Click on the filename. The file will end with the letters.exe as seen above. Make a note of the filename. You will need the file name to complete this process. Page 2 of 21

Receiving and Downloading SDFI-TeleMedicine Files STOP! If a box appears asking if you want to Run or Save, you must left mouse click on the small arrow beside Save and choose the Save As, option. Note: If no box appears asking you to Run or Save, then the file might have automatically saved wherever you normally find your downloaded files. If this is the case, skip pages 4 and 5. Continue to page 6. Page 3 of 21

Receiving and Downloading SDFI-TeleMedicine Files You will only see this screen if you chose the Save As option explained on the previous page. Receiving and Downloading SDFI-TeleMedicine Files Look on your desktop for an icon with the filename you made note of on page 2. Double left mouse click on the file. IMPORTANT: Before you can continue, you must have the SDFI Secure File passphrase for the SDFI Secure File. This passphrase can only be obtained through a telephone conversation with the sender. The passphrase was created by the sender of the SDFI Secure File and is specific to this SDFI Secure File only. Without the passphrase, the images cannot be accessed. Call the sender if you don t have it. Page 6 of 21

Receiving and Downloading SDFI-TeleMedicine Files A yellow Windows folder will appear on your desktop with the same filename as the SDFI Secure File you received. This folder will contain your unencrypted forensic images. Note: The more images in the folder, the longer this process will take. However, this should be a pretty quick process. Older computers will take longer. Once it has finished, you will able to view your images. Page 9 of 21

Reviewing SDFI-TeleMedicine Images Please read before proceeding: All image viewing software can display JPG images (file names ending with.jpg). If the sender also sent RAW files (filenames ending with.cr2), they are considered to be digital negatives. You may or may not be able to view RAW files by default with viewing software. If you can t view RAW files with your image viewing software, you must ask your IT team to download and install the Microsoft Camera Codec Pack. The Microsoft Camera Codec Pack is a free download from the Microsoft web page. Page 11 of 21

Reviewing SDFI-TeleMedicine Images Double left mouse click on the new folder. Page 12 of 21

Reviewing SDFI-TeleMedicine Images If you can t see thumbnails (small versions of the images), then change your view to Large Icons. If you do not have third party software installed, then commonly it will open with the Microsoft Windows Photo Viewer (Windows 7) or Photos app (Windows 10). Note: Please refer to page 11 if your images do not open. Page 14 of 21

Reviewing SDFI-TeleMedicine Images If you are viewing the images with the Windows Photo Viewer, you can zoom in to see more detail by single left mouse clicking the zoom button and adjusting the slider. If the controls look different from the picture above, you may be using a third party image viewer. Contact your IT team for instructions on the use of your image viewer. Page 15 of 21

Bypassing Restricted E-Mail If you have not received an e-mail link to download your images, you may have security measures in your environment that block e-mails with links inside them. If that is the case, you can request the link be sent as an e-mail attachment. Simply download the e-mail attachment to your desktop and open the document. Page 17 of 21
