Our Name & Logo Our name is the Association of Faculties of Pharmacy of Canada/Association des Faculties de Pharmacie du Canada. Our logo is the visual representation of our name and our philosophy, and is the most important carrier of the afpc identity. It is important to use the logo (graphic icon) and logotype (typeset text below the icon) consistently and with consideration for the image the logo projects. It should be used to unify and strengthen all internal and external communications. The design of the logo and logotype has been carefully considered; its form is distinct and should not be altered in any way. The Association of Faculties of Pharmacy of Canada/Association des Faculties de Pharmacie du Canada letters and the icon should always be used in combination, exactly as shown below. In some cases, the English or French name alone may be used. If smaller versions of the logo are to be used then the name should not be set smaller than 6 pt since readability is decreased with reduced text sizes. The logo and abbreviated name may be used in these cases. Using the logotype incorrectly undermines the afpc image, therefore it is very important that this manual be followed carefully. Any attempts to recreate this icon and logotype should be avoided. Always use the original electronic reproduction materials which can be obtained from the disk located at the back of this manual or available online at the afpc web site (www.afpc.info)..75 MINIMUM SIZE FOR ICON AND LOGO TYPE (2 WIDE) MINIMUM SIZE FOR ICON WHEN USED WITHOUT FULL NAME (0.75 WIDE) MINIMUM SIZE FOR ICON AND LOGO TYPE IN SINGLE LANGUAGE (1.5 WIDE) MINIMUM SIZE FOR ICON AND LOGO TYPE IN SINGLE LANGUAGE (1.5 WIDE) 3

If possible, these typefaces should also be used on internal memos, overheads, letters and faxes. Clear Space Requirements minimum clear space must be maintained A around the icon at all times. This is to ensure its visibility and protect its integrity. This clear space requirement differentiates the icon from all other elements on the page. The clear space should be kept clear from all other graphic elements such as text, images, and graphics. An edge of a page should also fall outside the clear space. A simple rule for determining the appropriate clear space regardless of logo size is based on a constant measurement, which is equivalent to one-eighth () the width of the icon (W). W 6
