[1]SoftwareUpdate Purpose of this manual This document describes how to update the PWS-100RX1/PWS-110RX1 application software programs to the latest version as follows. PWS-100_Suite: Version 0400.01 Sony HKP Service PWS-100: Version 0400.01 Sony SNMP PWS-100: Version 030.00.02 Sony Web_Application_PWS-100: Version 0200.5415 Sony MSQ-S321 PWS-100 PWS-300: Version 03000 Sony Connection Control Manager: Version 6.13434 Sony Streaming Receiver: Version 6.13434 PWSSettingPatcher: Version 0.5 Trademarks Microsoft and Windows are registered trademarks of Microsoft Corporation in the United States and/or other countries. [2]SoftwareUpdate Preparation Equipment required A USB mouse A USB keyboard A HDMI monitor A USB flash memory (commercially available, 1GB or more recommended) Required file Data file for update (installation package): PWS-100RX1_V6.zip Procedure Connect the mouse and the keyboard to the USB connectors. Connect the monitor to the HDMI connector. Copy the data file "PWS-100RX1_V6.zip" to the USB flash memory. Connect the USB flash memory to the USB connector on the unit. Copy the data file to the Desktop, then extract "PWS-100RX1_V6.zip".
[3]UpdatingthePWSSystem PWS-100 Suite and MSQ Firmware Procedure 1 Reset the RX Application Sign in to Windows 8. Click [Initialization Tool] in the Windows 8 start screen. 6. User Account Control dialog box is displayed. Check that Initialization Tool is displayed. Click [Yes]. Click [Reset]. Click [YES]. Click [OK]. 2 Uninstallation of the PWS-100 Suite Hold down the [Windows] button and press the [X] key on the keyboard. From the displayed Quick Access menu, select [Programs and Features]. On the displayed window, select [PWS-100_Suite] and then click [Uninstall]. The InstallShield Wizard is started. Click [Remove]. If SNMP Service dialog box is displayed. Click [OK] to continue.
6. If SNMP PWS-100 Error dialog box is displayed. Click [OK] to continue. 7. When software uninstallation has been completed, click [Finish]. 3 Uninstallation of the MSQ Firmware Select [Sony MSQ-S321 PWS-100 PWS-300] and then click [Uninstall]. The InstallShield Wizard is started. Click [Uninstall]. If a dialog box is displayed. Click [Yes] to continue. User Account Control dialog is displayed. Click [Yes] to start the uninstallation. 4 Installing the PWS-100 Suite 6. Open the Install package folder, extract PWS-100_pkg_v0400.0zip. Execute the Setup.exe. The InstallShield Wizard is started. Click [Install]. User Account Control dialog is displayed. Click [Yes] to start the installation. A command prompt opens and closes during the installation. Wait until the installation finishes. After the installation is complete, click [Finish]. If the update fails, refer to Appendix D.
5 Installing the MSQ Firmware Open the Install package folder "MsqUpdater_01_34_01". Execute the Sony MSQ-S321 PWS-100 PWS-300_v03000.msi. The InstallShield Wizard is started. Click [Next] and then click [Install]. User Account Control dialog is displayed. Click [Yes] to start the installation. If the Windows Security dialog box is displayed, click [Install]. 6. A command prompt opens and closes during the installation. Wait until the installation finishes.
7. After the installation is complete, click [Finish]. 8. If the restart dialog box is displayed, click [No]. 6 Software Version Check after Update 6. Turn off the unit, and remove the power cord. Wait for at least 10 seconds, connect the power cord, and then turn on the unit. Sign in to Windows 8. Hold down the [Windows] button and press the [X] key on the keyboard. From the displayed Quick Access menu, select [Programs and Features]. On the displayed window, check the version of applications. 7 Installation of the PWS Setting Updater Open the Install package folder "PWS_SettingUpdater_201706". Execute the PWS_SettingUpdater_201706.exe. User Account Control dialog box is displayed. Click [Yes] to start. A command prompt opens. A dialog box is displayed. Click [OK] to finish.
[4]UpdatingthePWSSystem Google Chrome Procedure Open Google Chrome. At the top right, click. Click [Help], then select [About Google Chrome]. The current version number is the series of numbers beneath the "Google Chrome" heading. Chrome will check for updates when you're on this page. Click [Relaunch] to apply any available update.
[5]UpdatingRX1Applications Connection Control Manager and Receiver Procedure 1 Installing the Connection Control Manager Open the Install package folder "RX1_App_6.1". Execute the ReceiverInstallHelperCCM.exe. User Account Control dialog box is displayed. Check that ReceiverInstallHelperCCM.exe is displayed. Click [Yes] to start the installation. A command prompt opens and closes during the installation. Wait until the command prompt closes. 2 Installing the Streaming Receiver Open the Install package folder "RX1_App_6.1". Execute the ReceiverInstallHelperRX.exe. User Account Control dialog box is displayed. Check that "ReceiverInstallHelperRX.exe is displayed. Click [Yes] to start the installation. A command prompt opens and closes during the installation. Wait until the command prompt closes.
3 Installing the PWS Setting Patcher Open the Install package folder "PWS_SettingsPatcher_v0.5". Execute the PWSSettingPatcharInstaller.exe. The InstallShield Wizard is started. Click [Next]. Click [Install]. 6. 7. User Account Control dialog box is displayed. Click [Yes] to start the installation. If the Files in Use dialog box is displayed, click [OK] to contitune. Click [Finish].
4 Software Version Check after Update Hold down the [Windows] button and press the [X] key on the keyboard. From the displayed Quick Access menu, select [Programs and Features]. On the displayed window, check the version of applications. Sony Connection Control Manager: Version 6.13434 Sony Streaming Receiver: Version 6.13434 PWSSettingPatcher: Version 0.5 5 Turn off/on the unit Turn off the unit. Turn on the unit. Sign in to Windows 8.
[6]UpdatingRX1Applications Registering Receivers Register the PWS-100RX1/PWS-110RX1 units in the system using the Initialization Tool. This operation is required for all PWS-100RX1/PWS-110RX1 units configured to receive streaming content. 1 Launch the Initialization Tool. Click the [Initialization Tool] icon on the Start screen. User Account Control dialog box is displayed. Click [Yes] to launch. Click [Settings].
2 Enter the address and port of the Connection Control Manager. Enter the IP address or hostname (FQDN) of the Connection Control Manager in [CCM URL]. Enter the TCP port number "9081" used to communicate with the Connection Control Manager in [CCM Port]. Enter the name of the PWS-100RX1/PWS-110RX1 unit in [RX Name]. Click [Start]. 3 The result is displayed, then click [Quit].
4 Clear browsing data. Double Click [Google Chrome] in the Windows 8 desktop. Open the Clear browsing data dialog (Ctrl+Shift+Delete). Then, select the beginning of time option from the drop-down menu. Click [CLEAR BROWSING DATA]. 5 Login to the CCM UI. Enter https://127.0.0.1 in the address field of the browser. When accessing the CCM UI, a SSL authentication warning message may be displayed. Click [Advanced]. Click [Proceed to 127.0.0.1] to continue.
6 Check the settings. 6. 7. Enter the user name and password to log in. The Home screen of the Connection Control Manager appears. Click [Settings] in the global menu. Click [CCM] tab. Check [CCM Software Version]. Version 6.1 (rev.13434) Click [RX] tab, then select the RX Check [Rx Software Version]. Version 6.1 (rev.13434) Check [MSQ Firmware Version]. Normal 034(01) 7 Enable Adobe Flash Player. In the address bar, click "Not secure". Select [Flash] in the menu. Select [Always allow on this site].
Click [Reload].
[A]Appendix Windows Update (Important updates only) This step is optional. 1 Change settings Turn on the unit, and sign in to Windows 8. Hold down the [Windows] button and press the [X] key on the keyboard. From the displayed Quick Access menu, select [Control Panel]. Click [System and Security], then click [Windows Update]. Click [Let me choose my settings], select as follows, then click [OK]. Important updates: Never check for updates (not recommended) Recommended updates: Uncheck
2 Check for updates Click [Check for Updates]. Need to wait for a while. Install important updates only. Click [Install updates]. Click [Restart now].
[B]Appendix Recovery procedure for Google Chrome update failure This step is unnecessary for the unit V1 or later. 1 Installing Google Chrome Update Utility. 6. Open the Install package folder "Supplement". Extract "20150724_ChromeUpdateWrapper.zip". Execute the "ChromeUpdateWrapper.exe. User Account Control dialog box is displayed. Click [Yes] to start. A command prompt opens, and "Step 1", "Step 2", "end" are displayed. "Succeeded" dialog box is displayed. Click [OK] to finish. 2 Google Chrome update. Refer to Section
[C]Appendix Recovery procedure for Adobe Flash Player update failure This step is a recovery procedure when Flash update fails. It is used when updating to Flash Player 64-bit version can not be done. 1 Reset entry for Flash DLL files in whitelist. 6. Open the Install package folder "Supplement". Extract "FlashResetter_20170zip". Execute the "FlashResetter_20170exe. User Account Control dialog box is displayed. Click [Yes] to start. A command prompt opens. "Succeeded" dialog box is displayed. Click [OK] to finish. 2 Updating Flash Player. Enter chrome://components in the address field of the browser. Click [Check for update] for Adobe Flash Player. Restart Windows 8.
[D]Appendix Recovery procedure for the PWS-100 Suite update failure This step is a recovery procedure when PWS-100 Suite update fails. 1 Stop the installation process. 2 Uninstall the PWS applications. PWS-100_Suite Sony HKP Service PWS-100 Sony SNMP PWS-100 Sony Web_Application_PWS-100 3 Stop Windows Defender. Hold down the [Windows] button and press the [Q] key on the keyboard. Click [Windows Defender]. Click [Settings] tab, Click [Administrator] on the left, uncheck the small box [Turn on Windows Defender]. Click [Save changes]. 4 Updating the PWS-100_Suite.
